  1. When the USCIS says wait 30 days til' the case arrives at the NVC, are we figuring 30 business days? Let's be honest, 8 days in a month adds up when you have waited this long as we all know. We are just trying to come up with some what of a time line that is affecting our employment situation. Anyone know if they process on weekends?

I'm in the same boat with you guys seems we were both approved with in a few days of each other. I figured we don't count weekends because we have no idea if the NVC works on the weekends. So I have just been counting days since Sept 18th.

  2. I found out JUST NOW NVC is the one that gets our cases first........They ran security checks and they assigned it a number!! woo hoo!! To the embassy it goes, I have been pestering everyone today....I guess the best advise is KEEP CALLING until someone gives you a straight answer!! I was told if your embassy case # is not on your NOA2 then it wasn't send directly there!!

    Good luck and God Bless

Yeah I thought the samething that the NVC gets our cases unless as noted your NOA2 has a case number for the embassy that your case is going to.

  3. I have a real strange situation here. I have been waiting for 4 weeks now for the NVC to get my case. Today when I called the person asked me what the first line of my NOA2 says. It says:

"The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate."

When I told them that the person said that it will go straight to the embassy. When I said that isn't the usual order they said that some go that way. I called the USCIS and they said the same thing. I asked how I could track my case without a new case number and they directed me to the DOS. I called the DOS and they never heard of such a thing!!!

So here is my question. Please look at your NOA2. Does the first line say it's been forwarded to the consulate or the NVC? If it says the consulate has you gotten notice that it went to the NVC anyway?

    Thanks!

Gary, My NOA2 said it was sent to NVC and when i called Nvc 2 days later i recieved my case #. I recieved a letter from NVc that my case will be forwarded to the embassy, it was forwarded to the embassy 4 days later. You need to call NVC and get your case #. If you do not have a case # your case cannot get to the embassy. The embassies work by case #. Goodluck !

    Thats what I thought!!

  4. Well can you tell me is the DOS # 603?? Did you call the consulate to see if the case is there?? I' m worried its sitting in someones desk!! :(:(

    sunshine

I called the USCIS and got connected to a nice person who told me conflicting information that the NVC doesn't receive your case and that is goes straight to the Embassy from the service center. So then I told the guy well my I797 letter says the following "that your case will be sent to the National Visa Center" blah blah.. Then he said your letter is not correct?? Now the USCIS said to call the following number 1-202-663-1225 and inquire about it.

This is getting too funny that the USCIS doesn't even know the how the approved cases are handled??

    The fun continues...

  5. Ah! So frustrating! I seriously e-mail EVERYDAY becasue it takes a couple of days to get back ... so I e-mail in hopes of hearing something. Still no word. It has only been 10 working days, but I was just hoping that after having to wait so long for the CSC, it wouldn't be so bad now. And I do agree ... although I have no anger towards the petitions that are being processed first, it is a bit frustrating.

And call too...will get their attention...it took 26 days from NOA2 approval for them to email us (as a response to our inquiry) that they have assigned us a case number & sent our approved petition to the Embassy/Consulate

    Good luck and Godspeed,

    (F)

The only thing is that I can't call because I am out at sea and don't have easy access to a phone. Can I call on Sundays??? When you say yours took 26 days ... are you counting weekend days or just working days??? Thanks for your advise!!! Good luck with the Embassy/Consulate for you!

Their system to send out approved petitons really suck. I have seen where many people approved after ours had already been forwarded to the embassy. Ours was reaffirmed on 8/30/06 and the NVC just got it on 10/2/06, just a mere 33 days!

Try be patient, as hard as that is, it will get there!

LOL. Is waiting a mere 69 days patient enough? NVC have yet receive my petition from CSC. :help:

I wish that you were joking! It makes my stomach turn to hear this. That is just inhumane! Why is this okay? I just don't understand. It makes me so frustrated to see so many illegal immigrants in the US, and then we try to go about things the correct way, and it feels like we are being punished in a sense. It is so unfair. I am so sorry for you. I will keep you in my prayers. Have you thought about contacting your senator?

If you already haven't done so contact your local sentor's office. 69 days is insane, and there is no reason you should be waiting so long!!

  6. if i call will they tell me or do i have to wait until nvc says they have it?

WT#? You received your NOA2 2 days ago and now you want to call and bother somebody to see if your papers have been sent to NVC? Get a life! It's going to take a few days. Relax and let them do their job.

true you should await at least 2 to 2.5 weeks. Also the average wait time seems to be between 3.5 to 4 weeks.

Give the NVC sometime to receive your approved case. seriously ur going to get all stressed out about something that is not in your control that being the CSC sending it to the NVC.

I didn't even send an email to the NVC till the second week which was Monday, but they still haven't gotten it, or gotten it into the system at the NVC.

  7. Both ....I just got off the phone with the Visa Specialist in DC and they told me they don't have a number yet!! Sooo What can I say just wait....at least I know NVC won't hold it up.....I just wish there was something more concrete!! :(:(

You've been waiting for a month......Have they sent you anything with the new number??

Nothing yet. I just talked to the DOS and they never heard of such a thing. She suggested that I call the Manila embassy and see if its there.

Gary let us know what you find out. My NOA does not say it went direct, but NVC says they have no record of our petition and USCIS says they sent it on 14 Sept. I am not panicing yet because it has only been two weeks. Good luck, Payato

Same issue with me when I call the NVC, but then again it has only been 2.5 weeks. I'm thinking of calling the USCIS to see if they sent my approval to the NVC how do I call the USCIS (CSC) to inquire.

  8. I just called the NVC to see if they got my case. Since it's been 4 weeks the man on the phone asked me to read the first line on my approval notice. It reads:

"The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate."

    Does everyone elses say that?

He said that since it says that my petition was sent directly there.

    Whats up with that??????

I wish my Aproval notice said that it was going to be sent straight to the New Delhi US Embassy. That is good news. Just hope the CSC actually sends your case to embassy and doesn't keep it in shipping status.

  9. Keep calling them!!! You were approved on the same date as we are and the petition is almost at the embassy. We called them everyday.Good luck!

Thanks I plan to keep calling twice a day.. Seems the CSC may have gotten a batch earlier this week as someone got a case number from the NVC after being approved Sept 28th.

  10. ok it sounds like I just need to wait another week. I've been waiting since March....I once joked about getting the visa in 2007....now it could happen.

Yes, the CSC is the biggest pain to deal with because they send us all approval notices and then leave our approved cases in shipping status. What a bunch idiots the CSC is one would think that the CSC would just play nice and keep mailing approved cases out to the NVC.. I am on 2.5 weeks here of the 4 weeks to go for the process time which at the rate the CSC is going with shipping everything out will take longer. I wish I was able to use the Vermont service center!!

I finally emailed the NVC only to get a nice response that they don't have it and to call the USCIS.

I do call twice day everyday once in early afternoon and once in the evening and one day hopefully after 3.5 weeks or so I'll get a NVC case number.

  11. Awww man, I just got off the phone with an operator and she said that they haven't recieve our case yet and to call them back at the end of october to find out more. I'm on a waiting jurney again... man how can you get so lucky. We got approved on the same date for crying out loud, lol.

what? I coulda sworn yesterday that I was reading your original post and going by your timeline it said that you were approved on the same date as we are. sept. 18, 2006. correct me if I'm wrong

I got approved on the same date as well!! I think the two of us will get good news towards the 3.5 or 4th week of waiting our 2-4 weeks for processing. We are now into 2.5 weeks!! I'm still waiting for email response from the NVC, but it has only been two days since I wrote them been told to wait 2-5 days!!

    Yeah me too, well see

I got an email back with having no luck about 5 minutes ago from the NVC.

The National Visa Center has received your inquiry regarding WACxxxxxxxx. After searching our records, no information was found regarding this case. Please contact U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS- formerly known as INS) to verify the status of this petition.

    Regards,

    National Visa Center

So the wait continues with the CSC to send it to the NVC. Might have to call the USCIS and find out that it is in the shipping stage as some one else had received the same information when calling the USCIS..

  13. so what is that proccess?

The process: The CSC mails your entire case to the NVC. Then the NVC reviews it for like 1 or 2 days and upon getting it gives out an NVC case number. However in most cases by the time you get ur NVC case number your case is transit to the US Embassy (2-4 weeks). Average time is 3.5 weeks. (talking about the process time at the NVC).

After the NVC gets your case and finishing the quick review, the NVC uses DHL and ships it to the US Embassy. Once the US Embassy gets the case, the US Embassy will then send your Fiance all the information with a check list of things he or she needs to get done before coming for the interview. (There is also a few things you need to mail to ur Fiance before she goes for interview) Look under K-1 for this information. If you used a lawyer the lawyer should send u a check list of what needs to be sent to ur fiance.

The interview process goes by really quick from start to finish in most countries, but all depends on which country your fiance is from.

    hope this helps!!

** By the way I'm talking about the K-1 Fiance process **

  14. Just spoke to an operator at NVC. My case has been received by them. A case no. has been assigned. Now I am hoping that it will soon be dispatched to New Delhi......

Nice to hear you got a case number last night.. I am waiting for a case number to be assigned and like you waiting for my package to get sent to the US embassy in New Delhi!!

I still have 2.5 weeks of waiting as to the NVS 2-4 process time, and it seems the NVS is taking about 3.5 weeks!!

    AKS,

We (our fiance/fiancee) might be doing interview at New Delhi around the same time. We can exchange info to help understand the whole process, if you like.

By the way, in your timeline why have you entered Armenia as your consulate?

Thanks for spotting the error in my timeline I didn't even spot that I had some how listed Armenia in it.. Shall fix it..

I'm in the same boat with all the other NOA2 appovals waiting on the CSC and NVS to forward my stuff to the US Embassy, and I am also praying everyday that this gets done for me and everyone else in a fast manner. :) (In god we trust)
