Yesterday Igot text and an email that my interview was scheduled.  I filed on 7/16/18 so I think it super fast for my office in Chicago to have the interview already.

    Super excited.

I also got an alert (I'm in Chicago also).

Do you know how long until we will actually get the letter with the date? I tried to call yesterday and as per, she was super unhelpful.

My filing date was July 17th if my memory serves me correctly.

    Hi everyone,

Your feedback has been helping everyone so far I must say I appreciate the sharing of knowledge and must commend you guys I feel so supported reading everyone's case.

I need a little help, I have done my biometrics and awaiting my EAD but my bank account is shrinking, I met a lady who said she is willing to offer me a job as her admin assistant for her salon to manage things there because she is getting old. She doesnt't have insurance or any benefits really just the salary and some vacation. I asked her for a job letter for me to commence and she said she will provide same shortly. Does USCIS accept job letters from small entities like these? She is a sole trader and currently has 4 employees.

Or will I have to get a job offer from a really big PLC company?

I really would appreciate your feedback.

A job offer is a job offer. Just make sure the date is close (but she is willing to extend the start date) and the offer letter clearly states that this is pending work Authorization from uscis.

As I mentioned previously, attach some bills too.

    Hi all,

I applied to expedite my EAD based on hard financial situation and pending job offer and got denied by USCIS yesterday.

I understand many people getting it in K-1 status expedited but what did I do wrong? What maybe I didn't provide?

I sent them a letter describing my hard financial situation and attached a job offer. Was it not enough you think?

    Thank you.

I also attached a few bills

    Hi all,

On October 15th I requested my EAD to be expedited, on 16th it was assigned to an officer and on 17th they sent me a mail which I got 5 days after saying that your biometrics is not done yet. I was requesting it due to a job offer on hand starting from October 22nd. So I did biometrics on 30th October as it was scheduled and I reqeustsed to expedite it again on 31st October, it was assigned to an officer on 01 November and then status changed to "response was sent to you"...I got an email requesting more evidence...I faxed it to them in 1 hour after email and then status changed to "your request to expedite was completed". Everything happened on November 01. Then next day...on November 02 dates of each of this 3 steps (assigned to an officer, the response was sent, the request was completed) changed to november 02 from november 01 originally....I don't know why and what does it mean.

So... my question is when they approve it, should status on their website show it was approved or it will say the request was completed in any case? What to expect this time? because employment start date is already in the past (OCT22)...and biometrics is done now.

    My timeline:

26th Sept - I requested an expedite based in financial loss and a job

28th Sept - Letter was sent from uscis requesting further info

5th Oct - Recieved letter requesting proof

8th Oct - Sent fax to uscis

15th Oct - EAD Online status changed to ‘Name was updated’

15th Oct - EAD Online status changed to ‘Card is being produced’

15th Oct - I-131 Online status changed to ‘Name was updated’

16th Oct - EAD online status changed to ‘case was approved’

16th Oct - I-131 online status changed to ‘case was approved’

16t Oct - AOS online status changed to ‘Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview’

17th Oct - I-131 online status changed to ‘Card was mailed to you’

recieved the card in hand  on the 24th October

I still haven't received any email or letter from them since I raised the 2nd request on Oct-29. This is so frustrating and I can't wait to get this all over with!

Have you called them for an update?

Can someone clarify please? After getting the email from Congressman, did you see any update on case status prior to it changing to "Card produced" / "case approved". I am worried that while USCIS sent an email in response to the congressman they are not doing anything with my case. When I called customer service, they told they don't see any request from Congressman to expedite.

My status’ changed when my case updated. It’s changed right up until the gave me my tracking number.

Hey.  How is your new job going? Bet it's great to be busy again and interacting with new faces

Congresswoman is finally helping today, she has the privacy release and job offer and the company is holding the position for another 2 weeks but they are a bit annoyed, which is fair it's been almost 6 weeks since the offer was made. It took a lot of  calling and emails and leaving multiple voicemails, the day we visited the immigration lady wasn't there and we were told she is often not in the office.... I find it so ironic because the campaign slogan is "we know what a job means to a family" uhm, right.

I was told that the expedite would not be looked at because I requested it on the 27th and an officer picked up my case on the 25th. I called a few days later again and a different officer told me he would send a internal email to ask the officer for a case update... that was 7 days ago. Still no case update.

Hey! Not sure how I missed your msg!

Work is good. It’s new to be out of the house more!

The congressmans staff are both a help and a pain the in backside. They know you can’t do it without them, so your have to deal with their rubbish service.

Please tell me that youve eard something by now?

I called again yesterday to follow up on my expedite request and the rep said it still wasn't assigned to an officer so she raise a 2nd request for me. A couple hours later it shows my request has been assigned to an officer and they sent me a response something so I hope to receive the email request for evidence today. If not, I will call them later this afternoon and see if they can read the email to me so I can fax my doc to them.

You have to wait for the letter to come before you can fax them as it states on the letter that it must be attached to fax.

  8. My update so far: (I’m based in Chicago)

Not sure exactly how long I’ll have to wait for my EAD card, but read that it can vary from 3x working days to up to about 10 before it’s in hand.

I know that I’ll have a relatively long wait for my interview, but given that I also recieved an RFE for my AOS, it’s nice to know everything is OK so far.

Update: my wife received her NOA1 on July 10, with a received date of July 5, and she's gone on a couple of job interviews in the last few weeks. One of the employers gave her a letter of offer, good through October 31 - they were very understanding about the USCIS situation & waiting for EAD, and so wrote the letter of offer with that in mind (mentioning specifically that the job offer is conditional upon USCIS issuing an EAD prior to hire and the October 31 deadline). We then took this to the Reno, Nevada Infopass office, where she requested an interim EAD. That was last Wednesday, October 10. There were 4 officers there, plus security and staff - but no customers at all. Unfortunately, the officer who helped my wife said "sorry but no" - that EADs now take 5 months and that they know California cases are backlogged, so no interim EAD even with a job offer etc.

So today, my wife called USCIS and requested an expedite based on financial loss considerations. There are actually two: we had a landslide on our property this year that has cost over $10k to fix (we live in a very rural mountainous environment) and there is no morning bus for our 12 year old daughter to get to school, so the EAD will allow my wife to get a driver's license to take my step-daughter to school in the mornings. It's been kind of challenging for me to take her to school each morning, my schedule is somewhat flexible but sometimes it's been choosing "meet clients or take kid to school?" and of course school comes first even though it's costing our family potential commission opportunities.

We are in the far north of California, San Francisco is over 5 hours south. Reno is 6.5 hours away but at least they have Infopass appointments available, we were really hoping the immigration officers there would have a little merciful kindness in the interim EAD request but no such luck. Perhaps the expedite request will work. We haven't received notice of an appointment yet. Keeping our fingers crossed & praying...

Also contact your congressman. I had to go into the office, as the person who dealt with immigration matters had my email sitting in his inbox.

When I went to the office, he had me sign a privacy release form and sent my offer letter. I am unsure if this also helped, but many others have also done this.

I requested an expedite on the 26th September, and yesterday my file changed to card being produced. My start date is Monday coming so have left it up to my potential employer as of what they wish to do.

    Good luck.

What happened when you went in? What did they end up doing to help you?

Considering LaHood is currently running again in the new campaign I hope he actually does something, it would be a great time to do something.

He sent everything while I sat in his office. Within 2 mins he received an email stating that uscis received his email. He only sent my job offer and privacy release form.

Could you tell the company that you were approved and just waiting on mail? It might come sooner than you think, I have seen people get the card within 3 days. Do you have informed delivery.

I set an email to LaHood yesterday, he did nothing with the I-129f though but it's still worth a try. My inlaws and the company want to send one too. Hubby says we should send a papercopy too.

I had to end up physically going into my congressman’s office as my email was just sitting in his inbox.

They were so unprofessional to be honest, but going there done the job

Have you heard anything back yet?

I haven't so I called this morning and the tier 1 lady said that she can't find any expedite on my case. My heart stopped! Anyway... I asked to speak to a tier 2, a hour later I got a call back and he said he can see I requested an expedite on the 27th but because my case was assigned to an officer on the 25th they won't even look at the expedite because "what is the point of the expedite if your main application is already assigned to an officer" so I said because the job is only being held for me till the 28th, what do I do if it's not processed by then? He said unfortunately I have done all I can and there is nothing more I can do but wait. He also said the officer worked on my case today so I just need to be patient and wait. I said I don't have a lot of time to be patient, he said unfortunately you have to just wait and he hung up on me!!!! So all I can do is wait and hope and pray for my stuff to come through soon.

    Nothing!

I went to my congressman’s office last week Tuesday and they sent a request on my behalf also (even though I had spoke to him and emailed him the exact same info he had sent off the previous week which was frustrating). He claimed that I would hear something come last Friday or today.

I rang uscis Friday (customer service was shocking) but managed to get a call back from a tier2 rep. He basically told me since I sent my proof no one has touched my case and all I can do is wait, despite me telling him my start date and it’s urgency.

Tried to contact the person who helped me in the congressman’s office today but he’s not at work today.

I had an email alert this am advising me that my cases had not been touched since 20th aug!

My start day is Monday coming so the likelihood of anything coming by then seems slim, so I may as well say good by to that offer.

Thanks for that, based on that conversation it sounds like a stalling tactic and I am going to have to wait for the officer to pick up my case and then send me the letter requesting evidence. So it sounds like a stalling tactic to me.

If you also read page 11 of this thread, someone received the same letter as you and got approved without having to send in any evidence.

i went to my congressman’s office today as my email was just sitting in the inbox of the person who deals with these issues. He sent off my job offer and email along with my privacy release form, and received a response immediately advising that they have the email. He advised to give it until Friday or Monday before I hear anything.

Well I just got home as a storm changed our away from home plans and read the letter. It doesn't ask for any information. It just says I requested a expedite and says "The status of this service request is: your case is currently under review and you should receive a notice of other action shortly"

I was hoping it was the letter requesting the evidence but it's just more delays.

Sorry to hear about your cancelled trip!

thats strange. Have you read up on the forum what that may mean?

I just grabbed mine and it says about my “case has been reviewed and a determination was made that we need additional information to make a decision regarding your request. Please fax evidence from your potential employer on official company letterhead as well as evidence of your severe financial loss to the following number ....”
