when I did my Biometrics, they ask me for my marriage certificate to show change of last name. just telling this so people is aware of it.
They asked me too and i didn't have it, but they just proceeded anyways.

I’m happy for you, @Annaguilar! My 1st SSA agent really didn’t know what to do and even asked the other agent from the adjacent cubicle, who btw wasn’t sure either. Anyway, really happy for you!😊
Thank u so much. Aww sorry to hear that. Hope you get it soon 😊😊😊

Hmmm okay. Well you are probably the 2% that have been able to do this. The agent did not follow the rules as they are laid out. You are lucky. I have never heard of this happening and most, if not all would be denied an initial SSN if applying after marriage with their married name as that name does not match the name on your I94 which is what SSA is required to go by
Perhaps it also differ from state to state.

And was this your first application then? Or did you already apply in your maiden name when you were single, receive a card and then just go back to change your name?
It's my first application.

Did you keep your maiden name? Or apply for your SSN in your maiden name even though you are going to go by your married name?
Didn't keep my maiden name. I applied with my married name.

Have you received your SSN though? Did they not ask for your I94 when you applied?
Oh sorry. Yeah they asked for the i 94 too. I received it 10 days later

Sorry, but I did read different forums here on VJ and other websites about married K1 visa holders applying for SSN under their married names. There were some who succeeded in obtaining one just by presenting their marriage certificates, which I did the first time. They said success of getting one depends on how competent agents are. If you’re right, then I don’t know which agent was the compent and which was not.😅 But really, I should have just applied sooner (2-3 weeks from arrival and still unmarried) under my maiden name. Thanks for the info. though!😊
I applied for my ssn with my married name 2 weeks after the wedding. They only asked for my passport and marriage cert.

Hey guys!!
Nice to see some of you again!! 😀😀
Anybody from Las Vegas here?
I'm on 'ready to be scheduled for interview' status on my i 485 and 'fingerprint review completed' status on my ead. anxious as to how long this field office process petitions. Do you guys have any idea?
Thanksss!!

Hi guys!!
Just anxious if we're doin this right and if we have all correct forms. I came in the US through a K1 Visa and we got married within 90 days and now we're filling for AOS and EAD. So here's what we have to be filed tomorrow. Please let me know if we're missing something. Thanksss!!
AOS:
2 money orders ($ 1,225)
Form G-1145
Form I-485
Beneficiary's passport bio page
Beneficiary's visa and entry stamp
Noa2 copy
I-94 copy
Beneficiary's birth certificate
Marriage Certificate copy
DS-3025
Form I-864 with 2017 Tax Return and W2
2 passport photos with name and alien no. At the back.
EAD:
Form G-1145
Form I-765
I-94 copy
Beneficiary's passport bio page
Beneficiary's visa and entry stamp
Noa2 copy
2 passport photos
And can I stack them all together? Or can I place them in 2 separate folders?
Thank youuu!!

It’s fine. Most places won’t do money orders for more than $500 so having multiples is fine. Nowhere near us, including our banks, does money order for more than $1000, so we split it into two, halfway down the middle, and it was accepted just fine. Make sure to clip your money orders together to the top of your documents so they see there are multiples and don’t deny you for not having the right fee.
Alright, thanks for the info!! 😀😀

Looks like a good plan. For example, I've read about VJers from Florida with 2 money orders because of Publix store policy, and USCIS accepts it.
Oh oki. Thank you!!

I just noticed your in Las Vegas, NV, so am I. I get FREE cashier checks thru my Credit Union here in town. Being the nice guy I am, I am more than willing to meet you at one of my bank branches and get you a cashier check for Free. Send me a PM, and we can discuss it. I'll be happy to help you out. I can use all the good karma I can get.... LOL.
Omg thankss but unfortunately we already got the money orders and its also for free. We got 2. We figured we will just place it in a ziplock so it wont get lost.

I'm just curious; have you considered paying with a credit card instead? It is a relatively new option since February: https://www.uscis.gov/news/news-releases/uscis-expands-credit-card-payment-option-fees
We actually didn't realize this until we bought the money orders and my bad we have 2 money orders not 3.

Hello everyone!!
Is it fine to do 3 money orders for the AOS fee?
Thanks!!
-
And also one more thing, do we need separate form g-1145 for EAD and AOS? Or is it fine to just attach one form for both? Thanks!!!

If you file EAD with AOS, EAD will be free of charge.
For AOS itself it's $1225.
And you should mail the packet to the Chicago Lockbox, i.e.
For U.S. Postal Service (USPS):
USCIS
PO Box 805887
Chicago, IL 60680-4120For FedEx, UPS, and DHL deliveries:
USCIS
Attn: FBAS
131 South Dearborn - 3rd Floor
Chicago, IL 60603-5517
I see. Thank you soo much!!
-
Hello guys!! Quick question, what's the correct address to where we can send both the EAD and AOS packet? And total fee for both is $1,225 right?
Thanks!!!

Thanks for the responses. I havent received my passport yet but my friend called 2go we're on the same situation they said after it goes to Issued we have to wait 3-5 business days before USEM forwards the passports to 2go. We would also receive notifications from the embassy and 2go thru text or email. So i guess i have to wait til next week.

Hello guys!!
I just got approved for a K1 visa recently and status is showing "ISSUED" on the ceac website on 6/13/2018. Does anybody here can help me figure out how to track it from 2go? I tried it already on their website using my mnl case no. Passport no. And UID but it keeps showing invalid.
Thanks for any of your responses 💕

Hi guys! Last week we received an email from NVC saying they received all the requested docs and I'm on queue for inteview. Does this mean our case is complete? I checked the status online and it still says "At NVC".
How long do I have to wait to get an interview schedule? Or do I have to schedule it myself?
Also, my NBI clearance will be expiring in October. I got it November 2017. Is it still acceptable or do I have to renew?
Thank you in advance to those who will take time to answer. ❤❤
You have to wait until it says "ready" you can then pay the visa fee and schedule your interview. I believe you have to renew your NBI since you had it over 6 months already.
