  1. On my experienced last year for the first time of US passport I made an appt online thru calling there hotline but it was hard to get the answer of your call only voice prompt and even the online appt was really hard to book it..  My situation was I have my itinerary with me and it was an emergency so 14 days before your flight you make an appt online because they don’t allow the applicant without appointment confirmation that they are going to send it to

your email. After I got my appt confirmation I printed out with my itinerary and went to Dallas Passport Agency with your original Naturalization Cert and make copies of it. Then 3 days after I need to come back to pick up my New US Passport and my Naturalization Cert. with no problem. I didn’t mail it because i applied in person and pickup when. It’s ready. But like above said it depends which City you are.. Good luck and congratulations!

  2. Hi! My experienced after my interview was good it only takes 10mins and I got right away and email same day about my oath being scheduled on next month.

Less than 14 days after my interview I received mail for my oath. From the day of my interview to my oath ceremony total days 26.. Hope you guys get yours soon. By the way mine was last year 2021 of April the interview and the oath May.

I'm sorry, but neither you or any other member here knows whether THIS couple can do it themselves at all, much less "better".  Lots of "ifs" to apply before reaching that conclusion.

I’m sorry too sir.. yes your right there is a lot of ifs…

Good morning everyone i just wanna ask about how to apply step by step of visa of mine, coz im married to a us citizen here in Philippines, what is the best common to use to apply for a visa for my petition coz my husband he never know to get that visa so my i wanted to ask her if someone can help us to apply my petition..thank you very much for who well response my question..

Your husband should help you with this because first he is the one to petition you for spousal visa. Both of you will do the research like above said or you can go to Philippines forums and they can help you there step by step without a lawyer. You can do it yourself the better..

You pay during your personal appearance to sign and pick up your dual citizen papers.

    From the Houston Consulate's website:

I don't mind helping, as this is what the VJ website is all about.  I hope your husband gets better.

    Thank you 😊 so much!

  6. Good afternoon sir Talako..

    Can someone help me?

I have 2000 sq meter land with hotel business and 1000 sq meter land agriculture/commercial.
I wanted to keep ownership of this property and continue operating my business. Kayalang po I am planning to get USA Citizenship and then immediately get Dual citizenship for Philippines.
Do I need to sell or am I allowed to keep and operate my property and businesses while in the process of getting usa and Philippines dual citizenship?

As far as i know you have that property base on your Filipino by birth so nothing to worry about that.. Even if you will become a US Citizen it is still yours but if you but a new property/land then this time there is a limit for you because you are a US Citizen and same if you get dual the limitation is the same.

Correct me if i am wrong but that is my understanding.

Not sure where you got that form, but the Houston Consulate's version has its name and address at the top.  This one from their website:  https://houstonpcg.dfa.gov.ph/images/2019/Forms/DUAL_CITIZENSHIP_APPLICTION_FORM.pdf

You can use either, so your choice.

The passport application is correct.  Use this for the requirements:  https://houstonpcg.dfa.gov.ph/index.php/consular-services/passport-services

Yes I’ve noticed that too after I sent you the reply that has no name of Houston in the form. And big thanks to this link sir Talako..

I have a question sir, in the dual form in number 17 question they ask about your Philippine Permanent Address ? I don’t have What should I put sir. Because I only go to my brothers home or hotel if I go for vacation. This is make me crazy to think 🤔? Or should I put N/A instead… Maybe in the future we will buy house in the Philippines.

Once again sir thank you. 🙏

  9. 3 hours ago, Talako said:

Yes that is the correct form.  To be honest, I would use the form version on the Houston Consulate's website rather than the Embassy.  While the same form, they are slightly different.  Does it matter?  Probably not, but I always error on the side of caution to the point of being obsessive compulsive.

You can have it notarized anywhere.  My wife did hers at our credit union because they do it for free.

You asked about the new passport.  So, once you have the appointment to sign and pick up your dual citizen documents, you can try to schedule the passport appointment right after.  Leave yourself some time to make copies of the DC documents.

Thank you so much sir Talako, from this clarification because I already recheck the form and yes slightly different. I attach sir, the new form just for piece of mind , that this is the correct Houston form for dual citizenship and passport form.. and yes i will make a copies of  my DC documents. Okay I’ll keep that in mind about applying for passport.

Thanks for all the help sir. 🙏

First, don't go to the Consulate until you have researched and understand the process and requirements.  It is a mail in process at this time.  You cannot apply in person with your documents anymore.

Yes, my wife became a dual citizen on December 23, 2001.  The whole process took her 4 months.

The first part of the process is done by mail.  The application form, copies of the requested documents, and photos are submitted to the Houston Consulate by mail.  The only original and notarized form that was mailed in was the Dual Citizenship application form.  You keep all the originals of the copies you made in case they want to look at them at the Consulate during your personal appearance.

After waiting during processing (3 months for her), you will receive an email to attend a virtual oath-taking.  For my wife it was a Xoom like meeting on the computer with a consular officer and 20+ others.  It was basically an info session with the ceremony at the end.  When her oath was scheduled, they also gave her a date (30 days later) to personally show up at the Houston Consulate to come claim and sign her documents.

First thing to do is go here are read the requirements:  https://houstonpcg.dfa.gov.ph/index.php/consular-services/dual-citizenship

This is what you will find:

    To apply:

Of course any and all of it may or may not change tomorrow, so always check their website for the process.

Sir Talako good morning. Thank you for the info appreciate it and the quick response. Have a nice day!

Precovid we meet up in Hong Kong, but one time immigration 'offloaded' her thinking she might be a victim of trafficking.  So I had to take a day and fly over to accompany her.  They still stopped us again, interviewing both of us, and finally letting us travel together.  That was the last time we tried traveling internationally separately until after we got married.  Then she made the Hong Kong trip many times alone.

Singapore is pretty much open for tourists, but she still has to get out the the country.

Same thing happened to us before back in 2014.  My husband and I going to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and it’s my first time to travel out of the country and we are gf/bf those time. The IO in Manila he asked me about many questions and I show him some pictures of our trips domestic and then they let me fly with my now my husband of course.
Then we travel again and again to Singapore , Kuala Lumpur, with no question at all… Yes most IO are so strict to their own filipino especially woman traveling alone no travel history and meet there fiancé to the other country. But now is more difficult to travel in the Philippines so many restrictions because of Covid-19.

If you are not in an emergency, do it the old fashioned way, go to a Post Office, and apply.

I already had mine. I’m talking about other people. At first I make an appointment to a USPS but I cancelled because I got another appointment online. And thanks god I just came back from overseas.

Wednesday 18th. .I have appointment at Downtown office. Then the dust would have finally settled.

I think it'll be handed back Friday since my flight is Sunday 22nd. So, I'd say Friday is the day it finally settles.

I think you will get you PP on Friday because you still have few days before your flight same thing as mine I applied July 7 wed, and pickup by Friday because the lady said my flight on Saturday and they don’t have office on weekend..  I assume you have all the documents that they need it. Good luck!

@Lola Lolo just wanted to point out that online appointment method is long gone as of 3 weeks ago due to infiltration of bots. I am happy it is gone. In my first 3 weeks, I could not find an appointment in Houston using the online method because of bots. I ended up getting Houston appointments through the new calling system.

Glad you got your PP sorted.

Really no more online appointment ? So how can you apply now your PP.. I read somewhere they don’t accept third party as the queue was backlog. I hope to anyone in need their PP they will get it. Good luck to you.

  17. Hello everyone… I just wanted to share my experience in DPA, after my first post. I already had my passport and I am outside the country now…
What I did to get my appointment online was I waited in the middle of the night 12am exactly because in a short minute that time slot will disappear and that’s what happened to me. I missed the appointment on that day but I check back around 4:45am just checking if there is slot open and yes 9am open so I jump to bed and try to make an appointment again after I miss that 12 mn. Then I try to click next but it says sorry not available but I refresh for the second time it’s they same, not available, and the 3rd time booom I am successfully in but on step 4 so I fill out the info and then wait for the code to be sent in my email then click the next to step 5 and then I finally have had my confirmation number. Thank you lord. We all need to be patient  to deal with this appointment and make it quick also or else you miss it.. I hope guys this will help.. Good luck to everyone…
Oh before I forget they don’t allow applicant without confirmation number base on my experience that day on my appointment and my passport I pick up after 2 days the day before my flight because I still have time and I got my Naturalization Certificate too..The lady who assisted me was nice and friendly..

    This is my first post..⬇️⬇️⬇️

How to get an appointment online in Dallas Passport Agency? I even called their numbers but no luck. What is the best time to make an appointment or call. Its very urgent to get my passport first time. My flight is 2 weeks from now. I hope anyone here can give me an answer.  Thanks.

    Question:

My wife has her N400 Interview scheduled for Saturday, August 7th at the Irving Texas Location.

From looking at others timeline from Dallas Field Office, it seems about 2 weeks after doing your N400 Interview, you get scheduled for Oath Ceremony.

We have already scheduled a trip to Cancun on September 1st and another one Oct. 13th. Both short trips just 5 days each.

My question is after she does the Citizenship Interview, I assume USCIS will assign a Oath Ceremony date, Can she delay the date she does the ceremony?  Or do you self schedule the oath taking? Or after you get the ceremony date, can you reschedule it?

Thanks and I will wait for answer

Hi sir.. I am not expert to this but on my interview in Dallas, last April they don’t do the same day oath but maybe your wife can ask or tell about the trip maybe the IO can schedule the oath before the trip… My oath was 28 days after my N400 interview. And that afternoon after my interview I check online and they schedule my oath interview…

I hope this will help you sir and good luck to your wife’s interview…
