OP, did you end up going to Costa Rica? Did they let you in in the US?
No, we decided against it in the end. Wasn't worth the risk. We will file for AOS as soon as we receive our marriage license. We specifically wanted Costa Rica as our friend has a hotel there. Thanks everyone for responding.

Oh OK. What if you haven't filed for AOS yet? Can you not enter with an ESTA?

Hiya,
We got married on 04/20/18 and are hoping to go to Costa Rica for our honeymoon this weekend. Do you know whether a AP/Green Card is required for visiting Costa Rica, or will it be oK? Thanks!

I read that non-immigrant visas can only be paid by debit card on the embassy website so that might be the issue, if you're using credit card? Xx
Edit - I hope it's sorted for you now / I didn't check that the post was 22hrs oldsorry!!
No, that’s the thing. Both cards are debit cards. Two cards from two different addresses. I tried today and the same. So frustrating, I will have to wait till Tuesday morning to call! 😔

My theory is to always be over prepared. With that in mind, I would get atleast the last years tax return, if not three. But, that is just personal preference.
As for the forms, I highly recommend you get them filled out according to instruction. I believe they needed to be done in black?
It does say that on the form, I guess he didn’t realise. I just wondered if anyone had been approved using dark blue. It’s probably not best to risk it. Thanks.

Hello, I have recently received my afficiate of support form from my co-sponsor, however he has completed the form in dark blue ink and answered ‘I do not intend’ for question 38. Will they accept the form like this?
Also the supporting evidence he has sent is:
A copy of his social security pension statement
A letter from his employer
A letter from his bank showing holdings
Is this enough? People keep mentioning w2s but the form didn’t mention them.
Thank you!

Has anyone had any issues paying the fee online? We’ve tried today and it keeps saying ‘credit card declined’. We’ve checked with our banks and there is nothing wrong with the cards.

Wooo woo... I've read about fast NOA2 to NVC here on the board recenctly and just called. Case number assigned! 6 days from date received to case number assigned.
I used this: Many have seen it but if you are waiting on NVC it's very useful and was today for me.
From: https://sites.google.com/view/post-noa2/home
Now, you will have one of a few answers to you query. At NVC, In Transit, Arrived, or Ready. "Ready" is the magic word. That means that not only is your case at the Embassy, but it is already entered into the system. After paying your visa fee, you can submit your DS-160 and schedule your interview!!!
I guess now we must wait for it to flip from "At NVC" to "in transit" then to "arrived" then to "ready," and at that point we can schedule medical--is that correct.
The address above tells us, after receiving our case number to go to: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx
change to "immigrant visa" enter case number and this is what I see:
Immigrant Visa Case Number: MNL2018xxxxxx Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment. This includes submitting to NVC various fees, forms and documents. Once NVC has received all the required items, they will let you know if anything is missing or incomplete. You can also find these instructions online at http://nvc.state.gov (English) and http://nvc.state.gov/espanol (Spanish). You will find contact information for NVC at http://nvc.state.gov/askDo I ignore this and simply wait for "ready" then get info from Manila and schedule medical?I think all that stuff is for other than K1--is that correct.Six days! I was expecting 56 days. It's critical for us as I'm unemployed and my unemployment will end near the end of March. Unemployment income IS accepted as income by USCIS but once it ends it may be a different story. How long does it usually take to go from "AT NVC" to "Ready" in Manila--anyone know?It was so depressing expecting NOA2 around Dec 15th and then not receiving it till January 31, a full 6 week worse than expected so it's no nice to expect it to take 50+ days to go from NOA2 to NVC. Our case was assigned on 2/6 and is the 36th case that NVC assigned that day since it ends in 036. Way to go NVC! I shall instruct Don to give them a raise--forthwith.I'm wondering the same! I received an email last night from NVC saying that my petition has been sent to London. I'm not sure whether you do the Form DS-160 now or wait till the NVC status goes to 'Ready'? Anyone know?

For everyone who is overseas are you waiting this process with your fiance and you guys have a Co sponsor? Or are you just visiting? I'm wondering bc I'm overseas and need a cosponsor and I'm a bit nervous about that... bc I'm currently unemployed
I actually live in the U.K with my fiancé. I will need a Co sponsor as I don’t have US earned income. Thankfully my uncle in the US has agreed to sponsor us.

So exciting!! Hope the next 4 hours fly by for you! I can't believe that living in Philadelphia there is no informed delivery for my Zip code! I can understand it if you live in the back end of nowhere but Philly is the 6th largest city in America! ( Although maybe thats actually why they don't have it!!!! Too many people!!!)
Thank you! Oh that’s a pain, you’d think they would! I’m from a really small town in MA, although I’m in the U.K. right now, so will have to get the letter sent over for the interview. Wishing you (and everyone) a speedy visa process! 😁

It looks like your inquiry has been assigned a referral number. I got that off the Case Tracker app. Did you call then to file the inquiry? It shows you are on day 135. My understanding is that they won't do an inquiry until after day 182. I'm at 176 and haven't heard anything at all. When I try to do an inquiry they just tell me I am within the normal processing time.
I submitted an online inquiry when the site displayed 'September 1'. However, on the 24th the inquiry was completed and I received an email on the 24th saying it was within the normal processing times. Maybe the app is just super slow as the 'Alerts' tab says November 29th. I did think it was strange that it was so early. Such a tease!

If your choice of shipping method requires a signature, then you need to send it to Lewisville.
I'd feel happier getting a signature, Lewisveille it is then, Thanks!

As the majority of my family live in the US and are unable to travel to the UK for the wedding. We both want to get married in the US. Plus, from what I've read the K1 generally gets the beneficiary to the US quicker.
-
Hello! I'm just about to submit the I-129F form for the K1 visa. We both live in the UK and I'm not 100% sure which address to send from the UK. I will be sending by recorded priority mail, so would it be the 'Dallas, TX' or 'Lewisville, TX' address please? Thanks!
