Wait... What? My NOA2 is 4/11 ( received date 4/6) and my estimated is between 7/19-7/24. My reaction just now was 😶😨😱😡
Then I took a look to your timeline and I think I figured it out. You say your service center is Texas, that works faster than California. But I wonder, and I'm fairly sure this is the case because of what you put there, if you just mistook the lockbox for the service center and the usual them sending your case to California with a transfer?
I'm sorry to be a party pooper welcoming you here like this, but I know putting your hopes in the wrong date can cause additional stress
Be very welcome here anyway and don't hate me
I'm going back to sleep for a bit... It's just 7am and don't have much to do today
Things sure move a lot here while I'm sleeping, lol.
Welcome back to @M&K2010. Great you could visit your fiance and have a great time. Airports are sad places right now, but that will be over soon
And you two are not cheesy but cute. We are not particularly cheesy... He's more than me anyway. Imagine the other day he told me no matter how much he enjoys playing his video games, he'll always prefer to play Mario Kart with me
😂
Thank you, it was really great to see him and spend some quality time together. Hopefully the next time we see one another it will be when he flies up to Canada to drive the truck with all my belongings and small car in tow and of course me in the passenger seat...of the truck that is. 😂 Fingers crossed 🤞 & knock on wood that this will happen soon 😇🙏🏻
Awwww that's really sweet of him to say to you. Nice to know there are other cheeseburgers out there lol 😂
So I read in one of your other posts that you already got your police certificate. I was thinking of getting mine done as well. I live & work right across from where they do them. I was wondering though, how long are they valid for & will we need them for AOS?
I am trying to get everything organized and ready for when that glorious day of knowing we are approved and NOA2 is issued. 😃

Congratulations on getting to see him for a couple of weeks. What you describe sounds wonderful to me. Being with the person that you love and having a wonderful time together doing anything is great. I couldn't agree more about leaving them at the airport, that is so hard to do. I have had to leave her at the airport twice now and I am hoping the next time that I go see her, that I can stay until she can come back to the US with me. Not sure if that can happen or not, but I am very hopeful. I agree about wanting to start our lives together and moving forward knowing that we are doing it together. Good luck to us all.
Thank you so much 😊. I hope that you get to see your love soon & that goodbyes at the airport are a thing of all of our past.
Good luck to each and every one of us!

Hi fellow April filers & welcome to all the new people who have joined us here in this thread. I just got back from Texas last Wednesday from visiting my fiancé 😃. We had an amazing time together as we always do! We went and saw a couple of movies while I was there, which is always fun. My fiancé also taught me how to play pool, he's a good teacher because I actually did really great..,I also think I'm a quick learner so it helps annnnddd I actually beat him at one game. It was down to the 8 ball. I was pretty impressed with myself and we had a wonderful time. We then went to the River Rock Festival to see some amazing rock bands. Godsmack, Def Leopard, The Offspring, Three Days Grace just to name a few were all playing. It was really hot but totally worth it!! We also enjoyed a lazy Sunday just chilling, sharing some laughs, eating ice cream and watching movies. We are both super cheesy, we call ourselves cheeseburgers 🍔 lol...it's definitely love ❤️ 😍. We also spent Memorial Day floating the lazy river...that was too much fun. But alas, the dreaded day I go home, saying goodbye at the airport seems to get harder each time & my eyes always get wet 😢but I am very grateful for the time that we spent together. Now that I am home again though I tend to get lonely & always miss him dearly. I live on my own and most of my family lives in BC, so it makes it hard. I know that there are people out there that have gone a lot longer not seeing their loved ones...I hope you are all reunited with them soon!
All I know is I cannot wait to never have to say goodbye at another airport again. I also cannot wait to start my life with the most amazing man I know & love! 😊❤️

Thank you! this is very useful information. I was wondering if I should vaccinate myself since I don't have the records.
You're welcome, happy to hear that this information was useful. Once I got my blood test back, I only had to get one vaccination. Which was administered by my family doctor. She then gave me an immunization card with the vaccine she gave me and the papers from Health Canada that show what I have immunity to.
Wishing you well on the rest of your journey. 😊

but i think you mean a you submitted a new package and got a new number for that. or dit the rejection have a new number? and the new petition?
I think maybe im understood the question wrong.
We received a receipt number for the original package that was rejected and returned to us due to incorrect filing fee. Once we received the original package back, we then resent the same package that was returned to us back to USCIS along with the correct filing fee and we received a new receipt number via text/email stating that our package was received and sent to California for processing. A few days later my fiancé received the hard copy NOA1 with the new number. So we in fact received two numbers, the second one is our official receipt number as our petition is now in the processing/waiting stage in California.
-
Does anyone know if a person keeps the same receipt or gets a new one after a "Case Rejected" update? Not sure if I should skip these in my scan.
Good morning, April filer here 😊
I was reading through all the other threads as I often do and saw your post. You do in fact get a new receipt number. At least we did in our case. My fiancé wrote $530 instead of $535 on the cheque. We would have been March filers but alas we are not. We ended up calling USCIS when we noticed others getting their NOA1's and we had not yet received ours. The agent on the phone gave us our receipt number regarding the rejected file. We received a new receipt number when they received our package back with the correct fee.

Thank you! Best of luck to you as well! Where in Texas will you be living? I will be living in the Dallas area. I hope we don't melt! Lol. I am headed there next week.... But so far I have only been there in the "cooler" months (November and February).
Thank you so much. We will be in between Austin and San Antonio. I'm looking forward to never having to go through a winter again lol. I know what you mean though, I haven't been in the summer months yet. Only November to January. I am actually going fo a week in May, can't wait.

Love reading everyone's stories on here!! I am lucky as well that my bf is only 2 hours behind me (he's in Texas, Im east coast Canada). Still sucks because I work at 6:30 am so I usually talk to him until 12 or 12:30 and then need to wake up around 5:30. I have a great boss so although we've only been dating since August 🙈 We have been able to see each other five times so far with another visit coming up next week. With technology though I always say it kinda seems like we're hanging out on face time so I feel like we've seen each other much more lol. Hopefully we will all start hearing some news in the next few weeks
Hi fellow Canadian, I was just reading through this thread and saw that you are from Canada and your fiancé is from Texas. I'm from Ontario and my fiancé is also in Texas. Very cool. Just wanted to say hello and wish you the best of luck on your journey. 😊

Hey everyone!
It's 3:45 here and my fiance just called to let me know that we finally received our NOA1 🎉🎊
Apparently the email notification service didn't work. But right now I'm just happy to be officially part of the April filers. Special thanks to @Estibaliz, your finger crossing works.
So here's our timeline so far :
USCIS sent 03/27/2017
USCIS received 04/06/2017
NOA1 04/11/2017
Im Back to bed. Good luck to all of us. Let's support each other during the wait.😊

Nice to have you aboard.
As you know, up here in Seattle, we are not too far from the BC border I hope to make it up there a couple of times this summer. As far as holidays go, it's very possible to get approvals before Christmas. Good luck!!
Thank you 😊
When I lived in BC, I visited Seattle with some friends. My mom lives a couple of hours away from the border.
Good luck to you as well

March filer who is snooping on your thread.
Welcome to the crazy world of waiting. Funny my fiance and I were talking the other day about looking forward to making our own holiday traditions. He always is asking me about mine and I am like well we never really had any due to my parents being divorced since I was 8 and then my stepdad moving in when I was 18 and his kids kinda just brought their traditions which didn't include us at all. I was living 10 hours away for 14 years from the time I was 21 and I actually avoided going home for Christmas because I didn't want to with all his kids there minus the two youngest they were cool and I am good friends with both today. I spent many holidays alone wishing I had family that was closer. I totally feel you except that two years ago I moved in with my Mum in my hometown because I got a job 20 mins away in the next town over.
As for wedding my fiance and I are just doing a small wedding not long after I enter. I have a good friend that lives in Denver who will come down to The Springs as my witness and my fiance has a few friends that will come for him. My Mum is thinking she will fly down as well and come and maybe bring my niece who is 11 if that works out.
It's definitely hard not to be around or close to our families during holidays. It's going to be amazing once we are all with our significant others and hopefully family and friends can join us if they can.
Sounds like you two will have a lovely ceremony 😊

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great weekend. Wanted to welcome all the new April filers to the thread. Hope the couples that are waiting for their NOA1's get a notification soon. Fingers crossed and knocking on wood for you all. It's Easter and I always find the holidays lonely when I am not spending them with my fiancé or my family. I live in Ontario and my mom and my brothers all live in British Columbia. I am looking forward to when Michael and I get to spend all the holidays together and we get to start our own traditions.
To answer the earlier question about what we are doing for our wedding. We are not traditional in the sense of a big wedding. We are planning to have a small ceremony by the Guadalupe River which we have both come to love as our serenity spot. We both have family and friends in other cities so we are planning to travel to them and celebrate with them in their cities. Wishing you all a wonderful day or evening depending where you are. 😊

Just a heads up and glimpse of hope, I noticed on the Jan filers thread that some of them have already received their NOA2's already. So I am definitely hopeful for all of us 😀

Hi. Looks like I'm an April filer too now thanks to USPS.
I don't know what happened to our package but about a week after our tracking told us it was delivered, USCIS sent my fiance a letter saying they couldn't accept our case because they "Received an empty envelope from this return address" as well as the envelop we sent our package in (which looked like an animal had had its go on it). After much panic, rushing around to put together a new one and sending it to my fiance to sign, his cheque was cashed and we received and NOA1 email. (still waiting on the hard copy though!)
So I feel ya pain, guys!
Hoping the next few months go by as quickly as possible!!
Congratulations on finally receiving notification & welcome to the April Filers Forum. Sorry you had to resend, that's so crazy that your package ended up like that. We had to resend as well because my fiancé wrote $530 instead of $535.
I hope we all have a smooth and quick process from here on out...fingers crossed 🤞
Lol Giggling cause of what @Estibaliz said about fingers crossed ealier in the post.

Hi everyone, I wanted to start this thread to pass on some information regarding vaccinations and how to get confirmation that you have received them. At least in Canada for sure, thinking other countries would have the same if not similar procedures. I researched and made calls to Health Canada and my family doctor with regards to this. I live in Ontario, Canada and was born here so I have been required to have certain vaccinations done throughout my life. The unfortunate thing I came across was that I only had documentation from my baby book my parents kept for the ones I had when I was a baby. My family doctor informed me that I could simply have a blood test done that confirms that I have the vaccinations required for immigration. She has given me a copy of this document which is from Health Canada to bring to my medical exam when needed. I believe the proper name for the test is an Antibody Titer Test. Hope this helps anyone who has been wondering how to confirm past vaccinations. Good luck to everyone on this adventure we all share! 😊

April 12, 2017 Customer Service Tools Outage
USCIS will conduct system maintenance on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 9 p.m. – midnight (Eastern)JUST FYI means another delay I am sure.. RATS!!!
Hi, I am an April filer and I browse through the other months threads to see how everyone is progressing along. I checked out the link you posted and it appears the outage will be for maintenance on their website, specifically online tools. I don't believe this outage will have any impact on the processing of any of our case files. Hope this helps to ease any worries you may have with possible delays. Enjoy your evening 😊

Thank you! I'll keep my fingers crossed for it and for all of us to be patient and not to have and wait toooooo long... Though my fiancé doesn't like when I cross my fingers, he finds that creepy for some reason, lol.
I know the wait is worthy, but still tired of the waiting game in my life. What can I say? We wanted to start this process a year ago, but my fiance's divorce took almost a total of two years before being final
So yep, used to it but still not liking it
I know what you mean, I do feel like our lives are in somewhat limbo at this point. Hopefully the process doesn't take too long and we will all be with the ones we love soon 😊
Oh and there's nothing wrong with crossing your fingers for luck. I knock on wood...aka my head for a wish of luck lol
