    Good news!!!!!!!

They just wrote us back and we have an interview for August 13th!!! (we specifically asked for 1 month later). I'm SO happy right now. I was so scared they'd say "Yeah, we'll reschedule. For December. 2025."

    YAY!

Ugh so relieved to hear this! And congratulations!

And yeah lol exactly my thoughts...just wait another 5years...you've already waited one and a half anyway lol....so good to know it's not like that

So, Frankfurt Embassy gave us an interview date on July 11!

But we're trying to reschedule for later. :( I know, we've waited so long only to have to reschedule. No word from them yet. I really wish we could just take the one on the 11th. It was so bittersweet to get that email.

Now you're scaring me. I'm writing exams until July 16th and since I've seen a few on here who got CC last week also getting interview dates for Frankfurt but already around July 17th-18th I was hoping they would be past my critical time frame 😫 please let us know what they say when you get a hold of them.

yea but its ridiculous that I'm paying an attorney thousands of dollars and they upload documents incorrectly

That is correct. And you're not the first person on here having experienced something like this that's why we did our paperwork ourselfs cause I didn't trust anyone with it. The orientation thing is pretty inconsistent tho as far as I have heard so it might not actually have been his fault (if it wasn't upside down lol). They literally told me on the phone that some officers want it one way and the others want it the other....not quite fair but apparently unfortunately the way it is

my idiot lawyer uploaded the civil documents the wrong way. How long does it take to cc after a reupload? our affidavit was accepted but I just resubmitted the civil documents

About the same time as when submitting last until the checklist now.

It would be nice if you could update your timeline....which since it's not brings me to the question when your paperwork for AOS and IV has been initially submitted?

That’s all I can do I guess.. I’m so frustrated I want to scream!

Also curious in preparing the NVC packet how many pages of chats/Skype would you recommend including? All our communication is via Skype unless I’m there (every 6 months)..

We had the same problem and after we called to have it forwarded to a supervisor we received our case number the very next day. We are a pivot case though, I don´t know if that changes anything in the procedure of getting the case number.

I´m crossing my fingers for yall. Looks like NVC is super backed up at the moment

Oh good. That happened to me yesterday as well... first three emails asked to resubmit documents and the forth one, stated the cc. This morning, however, we got another email asking us to add more so that the case can be further processed. We called again and apparently it is still good to go.

Wow they are seriously crazy... I follow your timeline so I'll see the updates. Crossing my fingers for you that you get an interview date soon! ❤️

How strange. I literally called and spoke to 3 different reps about the note and all 3 told me that once it’s been accepted that there’s nothing more for me to do and to just have the tax documents and w2 ready for the interview.

I would definitely call again. Like I said there’s no rhyme or reason with this whole NVC process. It’s frustrating! Let me know what they say! Only thing I can think is that it’s case by case basis? Still makes zero sense.

So I called again ( thanks to your reply!!!) And the person I had on the phone now apologized for his co-worker making a mistake like that and took the marking off which flagged our AOS part to be reviewed again. He said he thinks the person who reviewed the case sent the email out before reviewing the whole document and then probably realized that the information actually is there and then marked it as completed afterwards. He said not to worry. Completed is completed and all that is happening now is them reviewing the police certificate again and the passport picture which he checked for me too to make sure I did it right and then we should be good to go.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience which made me do this phone call. It saved my day!!!

I'm  pivot case too, once called nvc & asked about passport pics. nvc rep stated they don't really need photo.. but I was required to upload. I'm wondering if not needed then why making people to re-send.

Yeah they really are something else. I mean they have literally told me on the phone that in the end it depends on who reviews your case and how exactly that person wants the documents

So sorry. I was devastated  when I received a checklist as well back in May (for passport bio page). They also left a note stating that the couldn’t accept all tax documents in one file yet they accepted it, so I called NVC and she said that it’s been accepted so to disregard the message and just bring all tax documents and W2 to the interview.

There is no rhyme or reason when it comes to NVC. Hang in there. You’ll get though this!

Well damn I guess I had the wrong person on the phone because she said 'If it states you have to resubmit the taxpapers then I am required to send it to the supervisor to try and see if he will then take the *completed* off and makes you resubmit it'

Which to me basically means...wait another 3-4 weeks for him to reopen the option of resubmitting and then after that wait another 3-4weeks for them to final review it.....-.-

And I even called them like ten times to triple and quadruple check to avoid a checklist. I am probably gonna call again tomorrow and just request talking to a supervisor right away!

  10. Got a checklist today :(

We submitted May 26th and the checklist included:

-passport picture was wanted in a different orientation than uploaded

-part of the apostille also had an orientation issue so I basically uploaded one page twice with two different orientations now to cover both part on it

And then two points that now caused the case to be sent to a supervisor:

-police certificate supposedly had a part cut off which wasn't the case

-my husband's tax papers were all in one document, however they mentioned it but the AOS part was signed as completed so it didn't actually allow me to change anything anymore.

I am devastated and I really think there will never be an end to that....i feel like the next person reviewing it is gonna want it the way it originally has been sent in....I don't understand how they can not have a clear regulation on how the papers have to be submitted when uploading online. It makes Pivot cases almost more stressfull than non Pivot cause if they have the papers then they have it and if they want it turned around the physicallly turn it.... :(

    Hi guys,

I’ve been following the forums for some time now on this site without signing up. Today I decided to sign up to maybe help others and in turn get some help!

Ive updated my timeline with as much info as I currently have... I was surprised when I was reading some of the threads about wait times as I received my case number 6 weeks and 1 day after NVC received our case - pretty sure it was just sheer luck.

I can also confirm that UK is PIVOT (which I’m guessing must be a recent change as some in past months have been non-PIVOT)

One question which I do have is that when my husband was scanning his AOS, it didn’t all fit in one file. It was split into 4 files and he added 3 as additional documents - will this affect us getting a CC? Or would we be likely to get a checklist?

How did you split it up? Because we have just been told we might receive a checklist because we did not split it up.

We did submit i-864EZ in one document, then as financial proof taxfiling papers of 2017 along with W2´s of 2017, 2016 and 2015 all together in one document under the taxpaper section and then in a third document in the current proof of employment section the paystubs of the past 3 months. Now basically we have been told that we were supposed to submit taxpapers in one file, W2 of 2017 in a second file, W2 of 2016 in a third and 2015 in a forth, (plus the additional proof of current employment as is). So with the i-864EZ we should have uploaded 6 documents total.

When I called they said that is just what they can tell me should have been done but whoever will work on the case might or might not send a checklist for it...she said it really depends on who´s reviewing the case.

I guess we both just gotta wait and see what happens….we uploaded our documents may26th

Gosh, you just made my day! I only have the international one and I was surprised to hear she got a checklist for the international birth certificate. Phew.

Do you happen to know who it was?

I called NVC last week while I was in the US and specifically asked to representative if he can see if the submitted documents are right and he said yes and told me my IV papers were already marked as complete....now I don´t know if there is gonna be another final check when they went through all of the AOS as well but as far as I have been told now they apparently accepted the birth certificate :D

    Crispyxxx,

which German birth certificate did you hand in - the international one or the original one translated? Just curious. I heard from another German member that she received a checklist for her international birth certificate which is weird.

The international birth certificate, that is also the one they asked for....clearly said "International birth certificate" on the list of documents. I have never heard of such a case before lol....maybe she did not have the complete one. There is two different kinds, one is a short version and one is the explicit version which is 2 pages long.

I do not even have my normal original German one cause that would be in something we call "Stammbuch" and my mother has that book and I have no contact to her.

  14. Since I haven´t posted updates in this thread for a while.....

    NOA1: June 1 2017

    NOA2: February 26 2018

NVC case received: March 20 2018

Received case number: May 19 2018

    Pay AOS/IV fees: May 19 2018

    Send AOS&IV packages: May 26 2018

We are going through the Frankfurt embassy and got a complete online processing. On the phone NVC representative told us that we should receive the next email about case complete (hopefully) by July 7.

Finally an end in sight! :)

The form asks for INFORMATION from three tax years, but requires him to send in a copy of only one.  A separate place on the form asks about his current income.  No place on the form is he asked for "current year" income.  Current income is his gross income for the next twelve calendar months based on what his "current" job is paying him.  You "qualify" as sponsor based on current income but it is STILL a judgment call based on the totality of circumstances.

What is missing from your summary is HOW LONG he has been working at his current job.  Knowing that will help us understand whether a "joint sponsor" is likely to be needed.

He's worked at his current job for 8 months now. (Since mid September of 2017)

All he has to do to get his VA paperwork showing how much he was paid monthly is go to https://www.ebenefits.va.gov/ebenefits/homepage. Once he logs in he can go there to see how much he was paid monthly with the GI Bill and if he is receiving compensation pay what the amount is and his rating.

Oh we had no idea that's how easy it was to get that. Thank you for the info!!!

  17. Hey everyone,

My hubby and I received the NVC case number, paid the fees and are now filling out the necessary paperwork to it....my question now is...on the AOS form it only asks for recent tax year, which is the only one that he had a lower income than required due to going to school. He got employed directly after he finished said school and now his income for the upcoming tax year will exceed the minimum by a lot.

Do any of you know if we still need someone to co-sponsor due to last tax year even tho we can proof current income is much higher if his VA doesn't provide the paperwork proving that he received his GI bill benefits during the school as a secondary income?

About the police cert. Sure you need that translated?
I can only speak for K1, if there was no entry in the Führungszeugnis it can remain in German.

Maybe check back at that and save some money! :)
Unless they only accept translations for CR-1.

Off topic: Ha, you're going to New Braunfels, TX? Exciting! THE German city hehe, my great grandaunt lived there!
All the best for your start over here and greetings from VA!

Yeah when we talked to an NVC officer(?) the last time they said since they are set up kind of confusing now I will need a translation of it if we want to be 100% sure that it gets accepted.

Since they had already lost our paperwork during USCIS stage and it took them almost two months to figure out where it is I rather get it translated instead of risking more delays now :D

And yes lol....looks like it...we may move again but after 9 months we´re actually starting to like it there...We´re more towards Canyon Lake and got only about 3 minutes to the next boat ramp which is pretty neat :D

    Thank you!!!!

  19. Hey all,

We are awaiting our case# from NVC within the next two weeks (what they told us on the phone) so of course, we started collecting the necessary paperwork for the packages we have to put in next.

I know that I will need an official translation from the police certificate and since I will be heading to the translator next week it came to my mind, that I should double check if any other translated papers are needed.

My husband and I married in the US so therefore our marriage certificate is in English and we have an Apostille as well.

However, I had to do my name change in Germany since they would have not honored it from the state of Arizona so I did that when I had the marriage registered in Germany. All my official documents, such as passport, ID, drivers license were renewed after the name change and clearly state my maiden name, as well as my new name, but I am starting to be concerned if that is enough for them or if they usually also require a translation of the certificate of name change, which I have gotten in Germany?

Thanks in advance for any help <3

Thank you for your reply! I understand.. I have told her that it is illegal to do so and that's why I am applying for K1 visa and not just entering the states with ESTA, getting married and applying for CR-1. I don't think she would have done it, but since we had such a crappy internet connection when we talked about the general visa process, I was worried that if she hasn't heard it, or misunderstood what I meant. I am so sorry you have to deal with such a hustle. I hope one day all the process will get better! Thank you so much for sharing your thought. Really appreciate it!:)

I hope you are right and she has done DCF so she does not run into issues later on...If someone gets denied AOS under such circumstances it can cause the Greencard being denied in the end. A lot of people just don´t wanna hear advice like that because everyone knows the Greencard process can be a nightmare.

&no worries....I am pretty fortunate to be a student and am currently in my last year so I can travel back and forth a lot and luckily I did not have problems with travels myself yet where I would have needed the pile of papers but I have a friend who got questioned and therefore missed her connection flight(she did not get send back home). I think it is right that they do that tho...keep the country safe! :)

  21. Maybe she does not wanna tell you because what she really is doing is trying to travel there and get an AOS for him. It is illegal to do so and as far as I know you mostly get denied for AOS but I have also seen people stating on here before that they supposedly still got an AOS approved under said circumstances....

In the end it´s the officers decision...

However...if she is trying to do that she should better not be joining this website because this behavior is what causes issues for all the ones of us doing things lawfully and the right way. Those people are the ones that cause everyone getting questioned and triple checked and possibly getting denied entry when you travel to the US. I am always carrying a whole bunch of paperwork with me in order to be able to proof that I will fly back to Germany because just a return flight just sometimes isn´t enough proof for the officers.
