Wow guys, even if there are no movement yet on most of us, WE HAVE TO BE VERY THANKFUL TO BELONG TO THIS VERY ACTIVE GROUP!!

Some AOS forums that are older than ours have less than 100 pages but us, we are already on our 111th page and still going.

Not that we are competing, I'm just so glad that we have become comfortable with each other to talk about our ups and downs in this journey!

One more day and this week is done again and thanks to all of you for whatever issues or questions you share because I have something to look forward to read every morning after I send the kids to school and each night before I sleep.

Happy a good rest of the week!

May the fourth be with us! hahaha #StarWarsDay

My husband also didn't receive an email for his EAD renewal expedite request, but the case history says they sent something. I think they typed his email address wrong.

I know I have been away from this thread for a while, but there has been a big update on my case so I wanted to share with you guys:

My online USCIS case status says that as of April 28, 2017, THEY ARE READY TO SCHEDULE AN INTERVIEW FOR MY I-485!!!
I am more nervous than happy, as I thought I still had more time to prepare for the interview...
Please, give me any tips or words of encouragement so I'll be 100% ready for the interview!

EAD changed to "New Card Is Being Produced" today 04/21/2017.  Took 8 days after expediting the case.  I also had spoken to the congressman.  USCIS never called and asked me for evidence. Day 63.

    AP remains the same.

I understand how you feel and no matter how many times we say that we are not checking the mailbox anymore tomorrow, you still get excited to see the mailman the next day and run to check the mails.
    It's really frustrating.
Just try to be busy with something else.
Take one day at a time. If a day is still too long to bear, try one hour at a time.
or just take comfort on the fact that at least you are just waiting..... not rejected or denied.

Since nobody gave me their thoughts I researched the topic some more on my own. My conclusion was that jurisdiction does not matter on AOS cases and it is up to the local officer if he or she wishes to adjudicate the case locally or send it to the new field office. There may be some confusion on this issue because nn N-400 cases, jurisdiction does matter and the officer does not have discretion on the matter.

Anyways, my wife and I flew down to Houston over the weekend and we had our interview on Monday. We explained that we lived in Chicago, however this seemed to be a non issue for the Houston officer and the interview proceeded as planned. Whole interview took 15 minutes and my wife's application was approved. The officer was very professional and the new USCIS location in Houston was a massive upgrade over the old facility.

i just submitted an EAD expedite request based on Financial Loss / current valid job offer I've just received today. The lady on the phone was very nice and very helpful and submitted my request. I was told I'll hear back from USCIS within the next 5 days via email and to respond accordingly. Let's hope for the best, the start day is May 14th already...

@emchappie I personally haven't been applying but I read on here under the December 2016 filers that if you are searching and applying for job before your EAD comes you should answer "yes" to that question which I feel is appropriate owing to the fact that your case is being adjudicated, if eventually the firm calls for interview you can show them your NOA and explain to them. if they want to keep the job for you they will. hope this helps. good luck.
@Denis & San sad about your RFIE, it is annoying that some times the ineptitude on the part of the personnel handling our cases get so bad to cost us some unnecessary/avoidable expenses and waste of time, all the same stay strong. keep it positive and keep your head above water till we get through with this endless journey as par the G-325A form you may or may not add it to the RFIE as a matter of precaution and not leaving any loopholes. good luck.

Apfel reacted to Coco8 in AoS as underage?
    Here (https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/family/immediate-relative.html#3) it says:

"There is no minimum age for a U.S. sponsor (petitioner) to file a petition for a spouse. However, you must be at least 18 years of age and have a residence (domicile) in the U.S. before you can sign the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864 or I-864EZ). This form is required for an immigrant visa for a spouse and other relatives of U.S. sponsors."

So basically she would have to be 18 and she is 16.

I know you are not looking for personal advice, but you've only met for 2 months and once in person. You have all your life ahead of you. If you did well in school you could try to do your bachelor degree in the US with an F-1 visa (student) or if you are studying back home you can go to the U.S. as an exchange student (a semester abroad). You can also do a "work and travel" program. There are many other ways to come for a bit longer and get to know each other.

There is a reason why all this age requirements exist. Teenagers' brains aren't fully developed and they are more likely to make rush decisions without thinking of the consequences (it is science, not my personal opinion).

Hey guys I'm an early feb filer and I just had my aos interview and it was approved! Here is my review Had my aos interview yesterday. Arrived at about 2 and interview was at 2.15 we went in just before 3. The officer confirmed some information like name dob, parents names and address. He asked us how we met he then asked for Photos, he took a few photos, we offered to show some flight itineraries which he took. he asked if we had joint financial documents and we gave him joint lease, car insurance, bank accounts, and phone bill and said "you look like a real couple to me, give me a bit to make copies" we were in and out within 5 minutes we waited for about 15 mins and he came out and said you've been approved! Very easy and relaxed. However I will say some couples went in before us and were in there for over 30 minutes so every situation is different.

The PO box is for regular and priority mail, the other address is for Express and Courier service. it varies based on your type of RFIE. for example ours said that exact PO Box, but the Chipman Rd address did not have a suite number, it just said "USCIS, Attention: Adjustment of Status" then the address.

Make sure you choose an address from your specific letter

in my RFIE it was saying COPY of it. So i sent copy of my original birth certificate.

I sent original the first one and they asked copy of it. Weird.

EDIT: I am done biometrics today. Took 10 minutes. But jacksonville was too far away from us. 5 hours driving there and 5 hours driving back. Exhausting.

I sent the express mail through USPS and it was received on Friday, April 14. My USCIS case status updated to response received today. So about 2 business days after it was delivered!

I don't think you need to send it again, once it's been more than 5 business days maybe give them a call
