What a day! Yesterday was my N-400 interview. Things didn't start good, and it was my fault. I arrived 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment. When my IO called me, which is apparent that she had tried before, she was not happy at all. I decided, at that time not to request to be joined by my wife and newborn because I did want to subject them to any tension. While walking to her office, she asked why I was late and firstly, I apologized and explained . She is one of the most consummate professionals I have encountered. She didn't waste no time, advised me of every step she was about to take. We went through the civic test, and here are the questions she asked; What is the national anthem called?, What took place on September, 11, 2001?, What ocean is on the west coast of USA?, Which war did Dwight Eisenhower fight on?, Who does a US Senator represent? We went through sentence reading and writing. She went through everything that I filled in my N-400 application; and verified, I mean, name, birth date, address, work, international visits to those YES or NO questions. When she finished, she asked for additional updated information since my last interview, which was in July, for I-751. I submitted my current (2017) taxes, recent auto insurance, life policy I took last year which we never requested in my last interview. She asked for updated bank statements, and unfortunately I didn't bring. My other mistake was to bring the original taxes without making copies. She advised me that she couldn't make a decision about my case until she receives copies of my taxes, bank statements, and I was given a month to mail or a possibility of my case being dismissed. I requested to submit them within an hour and she liked the idea. That's the first time I sensed her warm nature, because we went through the interview so fast after my late arrival and she was just all professional.  She told me to submit those documents with the receptionist. We left and I asked the security guard for the nearest printing business, and  was directed to UPS which was not far. I made copies and accessed my banks online and made copies of current statements. My online case status was already showing that RFE (needed more information).

@Shanshanjamrock, thank you and I'm glad that you appreciate my lengthy experience. My deliberation was to take every prospective N-400 candidate through the process possibilities. As far as the I-751 is concerned, I was fortunate to get it approved last Monday, after waiting for almost 3 month since an interview.

Thanks for providing a thorough summary here. I did NOT know that bank statements and life insurance information was required. Im not even exactly sure what to bring. Guess Ill figure it out!

I am a US Citizen as today everything went smooth if someone can update my info please. Thanks 

I had I 751 videotaped interview after denial of N 400 interview last month. I had N-400 interview scheduled last month but they did not take my Interview last month.
I and my spouse arrived at USCIS 30 min early. After security we went to interview line windrow where they checked my N 751 joint appointment letter as well as I showed them last N 400 too. They gave us token number and informed you will be called soon. After 15 mins of wait super friendly young officer called our number and from the starting point to the end she was super talkative and friendly.  She then took us to her office and told us that before you take seat you need to talk oath. After that she turned on the camera and took out my N751 and N 400 big thick files at the same time. Then she goes we will go through both case one by one. She started with what is your wedding date? Where was it? How did you meet? When did you decided to get married? Why you do not have kids? Where do you work? Then she asked for any evidence we have for our marital union. We provided with Car insurance, last 3 years tax return, our Chicago, Texas and India trip tickets, pictures. Bank statements.  She said she cannot approve i 751 but she is going to request because her system is down at this time. then she goes now we will start with N 400 I was in impression that she will not take exams for 400 because last month during my official N400 interview date they denied to take my interview because 751 was pending. 
In N400 mostly she went through my form which I sent. She asked all those questions again and then she took writing, reading and history test. She just asked 6 questions in test and she said you got all 6 right so we are done. Officer provided me with form N-652 which says my A number and CONGRATULATIONS! YOUR APPLICATION HAS BEEN RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL. She said because we need to stop your new green card process we will not be able to put you in next Oath Ceremony but most probably you will be schedule for last week of June. 
We both were there for i 751 Interview. After 751 was over the officer said I am not going to ask your spouse to go out as it will take only few minutes for test so my spouse was there next to me while IO took Reading, Writing and history Test.  Today my 751 status was changed online and now it says that "New Card is Being Produced" but IO already informed me that I am not going to received 10 years GC as n400 is approved. 

Congratulations @AustinCanada, I am very happy for you! Wow, you have hit three birds with one stone, I-751, N-400 and an Oath Ceremony in a 24-hr period! Hi everyone, I just want to share my experience with my combo interview (I-751 and N-400) last October 16, 2018 (sorry for the late post). My spouse was with me the day of my interview. When my number was called in, I went in first. The IO was very nice, friendly,  and professional. She went through and reviewed my I-751 application first. She did not ask a lot of questions but more on verifying the documents I sent - like, our joint account, utility bills with both our names on it, the past three years of our joint income taxes, and letters from our friends (supporting our bonafide relationship). Then after that, she did the N-400 applications. Asked me 6 questions and I got it all correct.  Then the IO called my spouse to come inside. She only verified my spouse's SS# and a copy of his driver's license - making sure we have the same address. She congratulates me, and told us that our relationship is legit and bonafide, no red flags, , and she approved both my I-751 and N-400 applications.  On Friday, October 19, 2018, I received a notification about card being produced for I-751 application. Today, I received a notification saying that "oath ceremony will be scheduled. I would like to thank visa journey and its' members for all the guidance and support. Good luck everyone!  

My I-751 journey has finally come to an end!  
 
I've passed my N-400/I-751 combo interview today!     It took 2 years and 2 months!  

Congratulations, flash9153! I am very happy for you guys! The 17 days was not bad at all, and now it is time to pop that champagne and celebrate the end of this protracted journey. Your card should be in your hands by end of next week. I just got mine today, and the "A new is being produced" notice you just had, showed up on Monday. All the best to you, and yours!

Exactly 17 days since my wife's ROC and N400 combo interview. Just received two email updates from USCIS this morning:
I-751: A new card is being produced N400: We scheduled your naturalization ceremony Although when I check under documents, the actual oath ceremony letter has not yet been uploaded. I will update our timeline once the letter has been uploaded, or upon receiving the snail mail.  At the rate which Chicago court houses are wrapping up ceremonies these days, my wife should be a citizen before Christmas! I don't know what we would do if it weren't for all the love and support we have received on these forums. Thank you all for sharing stories about your journey, and providing useful information along the way. For those of you still waiting, hang in there! 

Lucky to say that our journey is over. I am officially married to a USC 😍

My immigration journey is finally over! I became a US citizen since September 6 and  the whole process took 2 years and 1 month!!!

Just an update...I got my approval letter in mail yesterday! it came from NBC and the notice date was the same day as my interview date so I guess they approved me right after my interview. I just want to share my combo interview experience at the SF office earlier this week.
 
My wife and I went together for the interview. When we entered the building, I showed the security guy the 2 notices, I-751 and N-400. He told me he has been working here for 6 years and he hasn’t seen the 2 notices for the combo interview before and I was the third person today for the combo interview. I guess SF office just changed their procedure recently for those who have N-400 interview with I-751 pending, so they canceled everyone and rescheduled with the 2 notices.
 
After checking in, we waited for around 1 hour in the waiting area. We didn’t get called until 30 minutes passed our interview appointment, then the lady came from the other side of the waiting area and called my name. She told me that my interviewer was still with other people so she took over instead because she didn’t want us to wait any longer.
 
The lady was very nice and friendly, I was glad that we got her as our interviewer. First she had us swear in and then she went through our I-751 package that we sent to CSC 2 years ago and she asked all the general questions like how we met, where do we live, work and travel history, and then I gave her all the updated documents for the past 2 years after I filed I-751 and also the photos from different trips and family events. After I-751, she went through with N-400 with me while my wife was in the room too. First she asked me to read 1 sentence, write 1 sentence then she asked me the civics test and I could answer the first 6 questions so she stopped. I feel like the N-400 was very quick, probably 10-15 minutes and that’s it.
 
At the end she handed me the N-652 form showing that I passed the tests of English and US history and the USCIS will send you a written decision about your application. She told me that I won’t get the 10 years green card since I passed the N-400 and she also asked me to sign the form and gave me a copy showing that I won’t have the green card to turn in at the Oath ceremony because my 2 years green card got taken away by SFO CBP when I traveled with extension stamp earlier this year. The whole process took around 35-40 minutes. Before we left the interviewer told me that I would get the notice in mail within 30 days. Later on that day, my I-751 status online changed to “ name was updated “ I don’t know what that means because I haven’t changed my name or anything but I guess it is a good thing that something is updated on my status. I am glad that my journey is almost over after 2 years!!
 
For those of you who are waiting for combo interview, Good Luck to you all!! and those SF filers whose N-400 interview just got canceled, you will definitely hear from them soon with the 2 notices on the same day and same time. Hang in there, this journey will eventually done soon!
