Your baby is your job offer, literally!!
Just call USCIS, and request to expedite. Choose Emergency and financial loss, reason? having a baby (You can say things like your wife will not work for a while, and the baby expenses, ...etc).
I honestly dont think u even need to contact ur congressman, having a baby is a good reason for them to make it quick

Mine was completed 08/11 but I haven't received a response yet. I put mine 08/03, and I am still waiting for response. I got bored earlier so I raised a third one, so they can just suck it.

my case just got updated after 108 days, 3 SR, and contact congresswoman!
At this point, I honestly don't care about my GC interview or any other form, they can take as long as they want.

You should have seen it after Sep 11, It was way worse back then. It is just the bureaucratic racial structure of the system. They fear globalization. They think it will vanish the American culture, which is something that never existed in first place. So, they try to make immigration (GC, Citizenship) as complicated as possible. But don't worry, being a british comes in handy in those situations. You have higher leverage and security. Hope your case see the light soonx

It's pretty much the same as before timewise.
By June 30, they were doing April 1st for I-765... aka, they are supposed to be on May cases now

Considering the cases are transferred to local offices for the interview stage, that is really good news for you!!!
It is either your case is currently at BAL or they assigned to an officer there to take a look at it once it arrive (considering it takes them forever to take a look at SR).

The thing, there's really no criteria for them. It's really arbitrary.
Im here Adjusting from F1. It been 11 weeks since biometrics, no rfe/rfie, and I have been in the USA for more than 8 years on 2 different visas, and I have no update.
uscis are understaffed, and they are politically and racially affected, so it honestly a matter of luck and whoever dealing with your case

90 days passed since USCIS accepted my AOS application, and 75 days since I have completed the biometrics... so far no updates, no rfes, no rfie, and no EAD/AP

I honestly think you need to read the I-130 and I-485 instruction. I am sure your spouse can speak and understand English by this point. If you want to avoid delays and RFE, you must read the instruction, most of forms on the web are for the old forms, which you can't submit.
And to answer your question, you don't SSN, and it depends from Civil surgeon to another. Some might ask you wait for 1-2 weeks and others can take you right away. Check USCIS website for CS in your area, and call them to get more details.
And AGAIN, read the instruction better, as I think if you are on k-1, you don't need a new medical report.
