  1. @kurt&eva THANK YOU!  We wanted to be 200% sure that we had everything for his interview.  I thought we had it all, checking that list more than Santa Claus but I saw your post, raced to my parents house, typed out an updated letter of intent, signed and dated it, scanned it, sent it to his hotel, he printed two and signed and dated one...and now he's getting his interview clothes on and getting in the taxi.  I don't know if they will ask for a lot of things, but we have way more than what I could imagine anyone requesting.  THANK YOU!

@geowrian am I missing anything? It's not too late to scan and print as we are trying to be 200% ready.

  3. Affidavit of Support questions before interview:

    1. For Part 3 #38 if you choose "I intend" to support the person named in Part 2...how specific were you in Additional Information? I would like to write, "I intend to fully provide for all of my fiancè's needs until he is employed and able to contribute." Is that ok?

    2. Did you put N/A or None or literally write nothing on lines that didn't apply?

    3. If you make a little over $50,000 annually is it necessary to provide bank statements?

  5. @geowrian or anyone who may know.  @Stephanie B anyone who has already been through an interview, or just has insight.  My fiancé has his interview scheduled for May 30th and if there is anything else that needs to be scanned and sent to be printed on his side, I want to take care of it now.  What letters do I need to include?  In other words, if I have a copy of my actual signed contract for another teaching year with salary listed, do I need a pay stub and letter from my employer.  If I meet the 125% with my salary, do I need anything from my bank?  It's not too late for me to get letters written, scanned, and sent to print, so please let me know.  TWELVE MORE DAYS!!!!  We are going through the Zimbabwe Embassy.  They have been wonderful about answering any of my questions and providing documents to us ahead of time.

  6. This is what had me hysterically crying and freaking out thinking we would have to start over with a new agent for a police clearance because I just found the one we hired on Scambook.  My fiance called our guy today and though the same name, he assured him it was not him and is pushing our application to finalize it and send us confirmation.  Don't believe everything you read, but after a month of waiting you better believe this freaked out both bride and groom.  My fiance told him all about scambook.  I am so thankful to know that we are not working with the guy below.   It read,

    Good day Mile,

I am Peter Wieselthaler. I have emailed you earlier on without any response from you.On my first email I mentioned about my late client Daniel Mitreski, whose relatives I cannot get in touch with. But both of you have the same last name so it will be very easy to front you as his official next of kin.I am compelled to do this because I would not want the finance house to push my clients funds into their treasury as unclaimed inheritance. If you are interested you do let me know so that I can give you Comprehensive details on what we are to do.

    Yours faithfully,

    Peter Wieselthaler.

  7. @kurt&eva things are looking up for us.  In a matter of two days things have taken a turn for the better.  It had been one month since our first communication with this agent, who is supposed to cut the time dramatically.  His was a promise of 10 days.  Last night I learned that our application for his police clearance in South Africa was in the building and just needed a signature before sending it to Zimbabwe.  Then I get a call and learn that they didn't do a police clearance and did a background check again.  I cry hysterically when I type in the name of the man my fiancé has been using reading about him on scambook.  Next we learn that it turns out his fingerprints were not clear enough, which I knew couldn't be true because my fingerprints are extremely hard to capture and they do not let you leave until they have a good capture.  Every day for a month something new that just felt like stalling.  So I sent an email letting the two know that I would be stopping by my lawyer's office after work today, if we didn't have a DHL tracking number and my fiance called the office, as the man he's dealing with tends to only text him, which was the first reason I was suspicious of possible fraud.  He confronted him about possible fraud and thankfully was proven false.  The phone call went well and my email message was received.  I was told that my threat of a lawyer was baseless and unnecessary, when I actually meant exactly that.  I was really heading to my lawyer, because he told me he would do everything he could to help me out if I ran into any problems along the way.  But I was also told nonetheless they are now working to push our application through to get it finalized and get that confirmation sent out.  So suddenly it was found and miraculously those fingerprints cleared up.  I didn't question it.  I was just thankful. Turns out it was the commissioner and this man my fiance was using really is his partner.  He didn't seem pleased with his partner according to my fiancé.  I was going to have to fly him back to South Africa after he had just arrived from his 40 hour bus ride.  This was big but God was bigger! Police Clearance done today, application submitted today, medical tomorrow, and second police clearance is scheduled to be picked up on Friday.  We are getting so close :)  Ps. We might be having our interview on the same day as you.  There are 3 date currently open and the 30th is one of them.  Our wedding is in July and everything is coming along nicely.

  8. @Art786 our embassy in Zimbabwe has been in close contact with me through email throughout the months of April and May and I was told $265 in USD on the day of the interview.  So maybe we just schedule it through DS-160 and pay when he gets there.  Do you think that sounds right? Is the DS-160 free to submit?  We also only had 2 doctors to choose from in the whole country and we were lucky to get him in without a problem.

  9. @Art786 thank you :) Yes, he leaves for Zimbabwe from South Africa on Sunday and arrives Monday.  Police Clearance is scheduled for Tuesday, medical on Wednesday, and we have had our file ready forever (April 8th).  He does his photos tomorrow so that he can finish up DS-160 and submit it.  Did you only get information via email?  I've only ever received USCIS through regular mail.  Should he be expecting mail in Zim? Is there anything else I'm missing? Will they schedule the interview once he hits submit on the DS-160 or do i call and schedule it? What is packet 3? 4? etc.  Sorry lots of questions :)

  10. @HeartMoyo we are praying these last couple steps before he takes that flight are simple and fast.  Praying against any RFE, delays in getting an interview, and travel complications.  We'll have to buy a last minute flight from Zimbabwe home to me and how God's gonna pull that one off, I guess we just wait and see.  Easily $2,000-$3,000 for a one way flight last minute. I don't know where that money is, but it will be there in time.  Congrats on being approved :) It took 18 days for our NVC number, he leaves for Zim on Friday, and tonight we completed his DS-160, to the point that he just needs to add the photo and submit.  His second police clearance is on Monday and his medical is next Wednesday.  You have to schedule a medical at least two weeks before your interview date.  Since we don't have an interview date yet, that made it easy.  We knew we needed to go ahead and get things scheduled while we waited for that NVC number because Harare only recognizes TWO doctors for the medical, so the first chance you get you're going to want to see what their schedule looks like.  He has THREE more working days after today.  A very emotional week, but soon he'll be able to relax, and by faith we believe he'll be home in America by the last week of May or first week of June.  We chose 4 wedding dates of June 10th, 11th, or July 15th, 16th.  I can't wait to be his wife!

  11. In case anyone needs an extra resource, I just sent this link to my fiancé to help him fill out the DS160.
