I am under same assumption they wont ask I 864 but instead only ask tax transcripts and w2 for 2016 based on reviewing some responses, but i want to be safe.

No, i think its a standard email.

You already submitted certain forms and documents to NVC. At your visa interview, you must give the consular officer the original version of each civil document you submitted plus one photocopy for each person applying for a visa. These original versions will be returned to you.  The only form you do not need to bring to your interview is the Form DS-260 Application for an Immigrant Visa. Instead, print a copy of the receipt page from ceac.state.gov showing you submitted the form online.  If a financial sponsor submitted an I-864 Affidavit of Support form, you must give the consular officer a signed version. It can be a photocopy, but the signature cannot be typed or electronic.  If you do not bring to your interview the original version of all civil documents submitted to NVC, the consular officer will reschedule your interview.

its listed in my interview letter to bring I 864 , i assume they need latest data i.e 2016 details

I am filling I 864 form electronically(Adobe) for my interview next week and not able to type "," and characters are limited  for part 2 field 2.b.

Is there a way to override the restrictions?

Note: My I 864 form was previously filled by my lawyer and he was able to override restrictions.

I called NVC regarding this question as well and they were not very helpful as they said to check my P4 and see what it is asking to bring to the interview. I think the embassy can answer this question better, if they want you to bring the I-864 that was sent to NVC (which contains 2015 tax info) or they need the updated one that includes the 2016 tax info as well. Please do share the response if you decide to call embassy regarding this question. I may do that as well.

Not much help from embassy , they told me " you may carry both " lol.

Hi ,

We have our interview scheduled @ Mumbai Consulate on Aug 4.

My understanding of next steps is below:

A)Using below link i have to schedule finger print appointment.

C)Show up @Mumbai Consulate 30 minutes prior to the assigned time with documents.

I am confused on below points after reading consulate reviews, Please share your inputs if you are aware of the same.

1) Can a petitioner accompany beneficiary to the interview?

2) Can we have our bio metric appointment scheduled in Chennai and medical in Ahmedabad? will it make a difference?

3)Does Mumbai consulate return the passport same day?

4)I have seen people mentioning about VFS service,  what is that?

5)Do they really ask for whats app chat log?

Just spoke to NVC rep , she mentioned they have no dates available for next month and will receive available dates from embassies end of month.

They will schedule interview only after that.

I think it is getting quicker.

I sent a  missing document on 4/27 and same was sent by Lawyer on 5/5 . Even though NVC mentioned may scan date would remain 5/5 but not 4/27 , not sure if it made any difference.

Hopefully, we'll start getting our August interview dates on Thursday June 29th. From our spreadsheet, they actually gave out a July date on May 23rd, but that was for an expedited case..  But on May 30th, gave out several July dates. So knowing this, they could start giving them out the last 2 days of the month..
