In my time on these forums, this has come up a couple of times from users on here as well. Every now and again you'll see a post on the K-1 forum from someone who planned out their wedding and is stuck waiting for their visa. And the question always comes down to: Should I just go ahead and get married and what happens to me?
Usually someone sets them strait and explains that they either can't get married, can have a non-official(non-legal) ceremony, or that they can get married and abandon the K-1 visa in exchange for a K-3.
I don't find it entirely unlikely that these people got bad advice, but there certainly had to be red flags along the line. The fact that the visa was for a fiance', she was probably asked some sort of questions while at the point-of-entry. If she lied at that point and claimed she was not married... well that's fraud and she deserves what she got. If they didn't ask any questions and she skirted through, well... there's really no way of knowing what happened nine years ago, is there?
Do I feel sympathy for them? Sure, I do. Do I think there are other ways of handling the situation? Most certainly. I'm kind of tired of seeing sob-stories about split up immigrant families when most of the time they put themselves in that situation.

Weighing by the pound doesn't necessarily work either. I have a friend who is quite tall and weighs well over 300+lbs, but he isn't wide by any means, just tall and muscular. As long as he fits in the seat, he shouldn't have to pay extra for it.
Why shouldn't he pay extra for it, if the airline is using extra fuel to transport him?
As erekose pointed out, it's a practical issue of the fuel cost vs weight (passengers + luggage).
So, I point out again a woman lighter than me with a different body build who is 'wider'. If she takes up two seats and I take up one, yet she weighs less than me, then I should still pay more? I don't know, it just doesn't totally make sense to me.
Anyways, I'm going to bow out of this discussion.

For those of you who voted "NO" would you also approve of two extra-small passengers (i.e. my wife and I) paying for only ONE ticket for the both of them if they both fit in one seat?
To be honest... I'd be surprised to see two normal sized human beings who can fit in one airline seat. Even two little kids would have a tight fit. And I think this wouldn't be allowed simply for safety reasons. One seat = one set of safety/lifesaving equipment, which means in the case of an accident, only one of the two people would have a life-vest, breathing apparatus, etc.
Being somewhat large myself, it isn't as if we are trying to inconvience others when we travel. I do my best to stay out of other people's way and I don't take up more than one seat. I don't want someone taking one look at me and judging that I'm too 'large' and therefore must by a second seat when I don't need one and fit just fine in the existing seats.

As long as he fits in the seat, he shouldn't have to pay extra for it. However, I've seen short women who have hips that look like hoola-hoops. They probably weigh less than I do, but their 'build' makes it more difficult to fit into those sorts of seats. I've even seen non-obese people who just have the 'pear' bodytype and happen to be wider in the bottom have trouble that has nothing to do with being fat.
Perhaps there isn't an easy answer to this, but I don't think people should have be forced, at the airport, after making their plans and possibly spending quite a bit of money, to pay an additional fee for a seat that they were not expecting. It could ruin a person's entire vacation and it simply isn't a feasible idea

Make sure you mention that you only need your vaccination sheet transferred to the I-693A. The 'A' is kind of important as the I-693 is the entire medical. They certainly are not going to fill out the I-693 without a full medical, but they -should- transfer/fill out the I693A.
We had no problems with this at all. My husband called up and got his transferred at the first place he called for $25.
I just spoke to uscis, a woman there told me that we can send in the DS-3025. Should it be transferred to the 1-693A supplement?
I see you live near or in the Chicago land area, could you send me the information to the civil surgeon that you guys used? PM if you like!

From the point of view of someone who is considered 'obese'... I don't exactly think it is fair to make a person buy two seats. While I do fall under that category, I can fit in a normal seat without 'spilling over' on to other people's seats. I actually prefer to sit near windows so I can squish over against the window and keep out of other people's ways. However, I think the airlines should have a couple of seats designated for 'wider' people. Just like they have to accomidate the handicapped, it wouldn't hurt to have a few seats that are wider.
In the future, the only real airline travel I plan on doing is with my husband, so I plan on only buying one seat. If I 'spill over' on to him, I'm sure he won't mind.

We never got one for biometrics, or for the RFE being sent.

You won't receive an e-mail notifying you that you are getting an RFE. They come somewhat as a surprise in your mail-box. You -will- receive an e-mail when your RFE response is received at the service center, however.

When you sign up for an account on their website, the one you use to log in and track your file, you have to give an e-mail address. From there, you can chose to turn your e-mail preferences on/off. So they are e-mailing you using the address you used to sign up for your USCIS account on their tracking site.

I agree wholeheartedly that the decision to let Jimmy go was a poor one. There are far better hip-hop dancers in the show. Last year, I was a bit skeptical when they kept Ivan in during the first few times he ended up in the bottom three, but he really showed how much he could learn at least. So far, Cedric (sp?) has been a disappointment and I much rather would have seen Jimmy. At least Nigel made it clear that if he ends up in the bottom three again, he's history.

So there's three siblings this time around.
Lauren is the one who worked on the show last year.
I don't really mind it, as long as they are good dancers, and all of them seem to be holding their own with this group. If they sucked or were really visibly worse than the rest, then I'd wonder if they were just shoved in for the 'sibling' factor.

I think Dominic is my favorite so far, especially after last night. He just doesn't have the 'tude some of the other guys have. My least favorite is probably Danny, because he seems to think that he's the best of the best and it's a little annoying. Otherwise I think they are all fantastic dancers, and a lot better than last years crop. I mean, I can't even guess at who will end up in the bottom three this week.
