Well, there certainly isn't an unconditional love bond between me and my parents, especially not my mother. My parents have never had a 'loving' relationship with me or my brother. Sure, they support us financially, but it has always lacked in the affection department. Both my brother and I avoid my mother, because the less we see of her, the less time she has to find something to attack us about.
As for unconditional love in a relationship... I don't think so. I don't think so even in the case of a 'puppy' as someone mentioned above. My dog used to love people more or less depending on who gave her walks and who gave her treats. The same with my cats. In a marriage relationship, there has to be some conditions... although some people can live with marital infidelity, others can't. I can't, certainly...

My husband never had a driver's liscence prior to coming here. Later on, once he has his green card, I'll get him a driver's permit and we can start practicing driving. Biking to college in the dead of winter probably won't be fun for him.
But I understand the differences in driving. He's made all sorts of comments about things. As for the 'ride side hand priority rule' it still applies, but only when two cars come to a stopsign at the same time. At least that's what I learned.
I lived in capital city and car would be to expensive with garage and our gas prices, I rather 5 minute walk to job or spend few lats for cab. So I drove only very occasionally. I needed to learn to drive very hard again, because my hubby is very hard on me driving good, and thanks him, I am very aware driver now. But Netherlands is very big cyclist land, many cyclists you can see in Latvia too, and in all seasons. Crazy them. lol.
By the way, don't he have his cyclist ID, you need to have this if you rode your bike in cities.
I don't think he had to get a cyclist ID, at least not from what he's told me. He's been cycling to school since he was a small child. I know he lived in Amsterdam for a while, but I'm not sure he rode his bike while there. He was only at that university for a year or so.

I have sent my AOS on May 7th. I already have had my biometrics and I just have recieved today a notice saying that my case has been transferred to California.

Hmm, its not only for tourists, no matter what kind of visa you have. At least in PA, my drivers license is valid one year. This is what I found out.
I think all EU countries drivers licenses work here for year, Netherlands too.
But still, its harder to relearn your habits, then learn from beginning.

I still use my Latvia drivers license. Its valid one year. Actually it was smart, because Its got it in 2000, so when they added me to insurance, they considered I have driving experience, and I am added as secondary driver for free. If I would get my PA drivers license it would be new, with driving experience 0, and insurance would be - I don't want to even think how much.
I never got any kind of ID here, do I need one? So far I did everything with my passport.
We mostly got the State ID for safety sake. With my husband cycling to school every day, I didn't want to risk him misplacing his passport. So we got him the State ID so that he can have that with him as his primary ID, and we don't have to drag around the passport everywhere.

Wont they accept passport as ID in driving test?
It depends on the state. Where I live, Illinois, they require a photo ID (passport), a signature ID (SSN or some other proof of your signature), proof of social security (SSN card), and proof of residence (a peice of mail sent to you at your home address - I used my NOA1 for this part).
I'm sure it varies from state to state, but you can look up what is acceptable at your local DMV's website, I think. We got an ID that's valid until next year.

I flew KLM once from Chicago to Amsterdam round trip. I can't really comment on it compared to other airlines, as it was the first time I'd flown at all. The food was pretty good, and they do check in on you a decent amount. The bathrooms are a little cramped. All in all, they were good flights.
My husband (fiance' at the time) and I only stopped using them because there were quite a few cheaper flights out of Brussels through American Airlines and it was about the same distance from him as Schipol.

He studies English, goes to the gym, volunteered a bit with me during the school year.
I'm on summer vacation (from school - I'm a teacher) so we hang out more which is great for us!! This week I'm taking a stupid class through my county but besides that we're enjoying our time together.
He wants to work to help me out - to 'take care' of me - you know how it is...he's a man
*nods* It's good he's keeping himself active. Mine doesn't start going to school until next week. He always feels guilty when I spend money on his education, because he's the guy and he's supposed to be the one taking care of me.

Just something to keep in mind: Folks who had their checks cashed in June, probably also have NOA1 dates in June. So, unless you're on the borderline (checks cashed June 1st/2nd) then I'd consider checking out the June filer's thread, since you'll probably end up part of that group. Untill people let me know for sure what their NOA1 dates are, I'll leave them on my list, though.
No touches for us lately. Back to the waiting game.

Today my husband said (again) how he wants to work.
It's a bit frustrating.
Have you considered maybe enrolling him in some sort of non-credit or community programs? It might be enough to get him out of the house and keep him from dwelling on the fact he can't work yet. Usually there's some adult programs at local community colleges and city park districts that you can join for the summer.

Updated. Almost time for me to head home from work.
I've been having hubbie obsessively check the mail for me. People getting interview letters makes me antsy. Nothing for us yet, though. We're probably delayed because of our RFE, at least that's my guess.

hi Arazia a USCIS officer told us that they rcved our case May 15 heres their statement :
On May 15, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.
We did not received the first notice,that they send to us they marked it undeliverable bec they did not see my name inside the mailbox.this is the second notice about my biometric scheduled on June 27

That means your NOA1 date was the 15th. The NOA1 is the date that they received and began processing your application, and as the website says, it's the 15th. Even if they generated a new NOA1 notice on the 1st of June, the date that processing started was the 15th. So I'll put that into the timeline.

I'm six years older than my husband, but we get along fine because we basically grew up on the same things. Occassionally we have some slight problems, mostly to deal with him still going to school.
