  1. Yes, and don't care if my boss knows. There are people on a lot worse sites than this at my work. There's one guy who surfs MySpace from work and reads fiction novels and another guy who snores when falling asleep, every day. I don't think anyone is going to get pissy over me getting relivant information to my life while at work when other people are doing that x.x

  2. If it's the little stuff, I don't really mind all that much, but lies about major things... I might forgive once, but after that I have a real hard time trusting someone that can't even tell their significant other the truth. *shrugs*

  3. I had actually been friends with Harry for a few years. During a down-time (ie. I was dumped) in my other relationship, I had considered saying something to him, but at the time he was 17 and thus not legal in this country for the naughty bits of relationships. Anyways... my ex was still living with me but we hadn't been together as a couple in over a year. I was just helpnig him get on his feet. I had no interest in relationships when Harry came back from being absent on the game we played for a long time. And... well we just sort of fell together all over again.

  4. I may be smacked for this but...

I've been told a friend who works with immigration/councelling that the visa lottery is a bit of a joke. She informed me that it really doesn't work the way they say it does, and priority goes to countries that the US has political or socio-economic ties to.

At least that's what I've been told.

    *ducks*

  5. My fiancee has to wear glasses because he needs a very slight vision correction. He can see fine without them, but he can read better at distances (it doesn't give him headaches) if he wears them. In all of our pictures together that we plan on sending with the I-129F, he is wearing his glasses. When he went to get the passport photo done yesterday, though, they couldn't take it with his glasses on because it was giving too much glare. Does anyone know if it will be any sort of issue? I only worry because all of his other pictures show him with his glasses on but the passport picture doesn't.

I guess it's the jitters since we're so very close to getting this whole packet sent out.

  6. Where are you getting them developed at? If you are trying to print them yourself, it is possible your printer is out of other colors of ink. This may be the same if you are getting it printed somewhere. If it's at a shop, talk to one of the people who runs the photos and see if they have any idea. As an alternate, try someplace else to get your photos developed.

  7. So, nervously, I tell my parents yesterday that my boyfriend and I had gotten engaged. They were not surprised at all, as I had told them we were considering that route of the visa process a few weeks ago. What surprised me, though, was how willing they were to help me. My mom went upstairs and brought down one of the jewelry boxes she inherited from an aunt, and knowing that Harry and I had no engagement ring or wedding bands, started sorting through it. She ended up giving me a ring that has about a half-carat diamond in it, white gold with smaller stones around it which came with a wedding band. The thing is probably worth more than I get paid in two months.

Then, my dad goes into their room and comes out with a men's wedding band. He explains that this is the one he used to wear to pretend he was married while out on the prowl for women. I basically blinked, looked at him and went 'Dad!' in absolute surprise... then accepted the ring. I think they approve of my engagement, heh.

I doubt things will go as well when Harry breaks things to his parents. Right now, he hasn't, as his father is very stressed at work and he doesn't want to add to that stress. I fully expect his parents to act as any good parents of a nineteen year old would act when hearing the news that their son is going to run off to America to marry some girl they've only met once and he's only seen twice. I expect them to hang him up by his pinky-toes until he comes to his senses. Luckily, my beloved is a stubborn #######. I just worry that they might get mad at him and kick him out of the house or something when they find out. That could be a problem, especially as forms and such will have to come to his home address. Oh well, with the rate things are going, it's a while before he has to break the news to them.

    Merf.

  8. I'm sorry to hear of the end of your relationship. Long distance really plays havoc on a lot of people and it's stressfull. Add waiting and going through governmental processes for months into the mix, and it is something a lot of couples can't last through. I'm on a long-distance forum totally separate from VJ, and this happens a lot more frequently.

It's a bit disheartening. As for the timing of the matter... sometimes you never know just from reading on a forum what is going on in the real world. This may have been something building up for a while. Who knows.

  9. The thing that that particular quote fails to mention are that the chances of those various conditions are about the same as the chances of complications from the circumcision proceedure itself. In general, complications in either case seem to happen in something like 1 per 500 children. That is why the medical community does not advocate it widely, because there is just as much chance of harm as good from it.

  10. I know your feeling all too well. So many times over the past few weeks, friends of mine have suggested just having him come over here and getting married then pleading our case to the government. At the same time, with all the fuss about illegal immigration, I want to do this the -right- way. I want the papertrail that says we put in the effort to do this the legal way. It's not a good idea to start a marriage based on lies, ne?

  11. From what you've said, I'm guessing they want to see the passport stamps or something of the like to validate your trip. The thing about boarding passes/tickets is that you can have them and not use them. The actual passport stamps validate that the tickets were used and you actually went to that country.

Of course, I'm not an expert by any means, as I haven't even started this process, but that seems likely.

    Goodluck.

  12. Does anyone know why there is not I 129F listed on the Nebraska service center when you look up the processing times? I hope this is just an error because they were one of the fastest service center on processing visas.

As far as I know, Nebraska Service Center has been forwarding all of their K-1 visas to California. I know the feeling though, as I'm facing the exact same thing when I send in my app. I find it a little stupid to have to send my app to Nebraska only to have it forwarded to Cali. x.x

  13. Thanks for all the help so far. We've managed to get most of the form filled out. I still do have the remaining question of what to do for being a student? I was guessing that we should do 'Unemployed' for employer and occupation as 'Student'. Does that sound right or is there another way of going about putting student down. I just don't want to give the wrong impression because... being unemployed and being a student are different things.

  14. Oh yay, more questions (I hope these don't get missed along the way)...

My fiancee' has a very long middle name that doesn't fit in the box. Often times, they just use the first part of it. It is Adolphus Henricus, is it okay to just use Adolphus and not the entire name, or should he hand-print in the full middle name?

On MY version of the form...

I have only been working for three years now, and was a student prior to that. Does student count as unemployeed? How would you list if you were a student up to a certain point?

  15. I did not see a side for the fiancee to fill out. I filled out all the information based on me and they accepted it right a way. Hope you get some other opinions.

    7. G-325A (all four pages) filled out by the US Citizen signed and dated (see example)

    9. G-325A (all four pages) filled out by the foreign fiance(e) signed and dated (see example)

This is what I'm going off of. It says there needs to be a G-325A form for both of us.

Where did you get that list? could you give me a site

It's part of the guides part of this site. Just click the guides tab on the main website banner and then go to the K-1 section.
