It was a NOID actually, because of the mistake in the application and they thought we were lying, so we had to submit some documents to prove that it’s a mistake and after a couple of months the petition got approved, just wait for their letter it will indicate what’s the issue, and be prepared to reply them with what they need, wish you luck with it.

Sorry for late reply, actually we had to hire an attorney because there were a mistake in the application which led it to be reopen again, so we submitted the required documents and the case got approved by the uscis, in our interview we got put in AP and then the petition got expired by itself, so we decided to get married and now we are going to do the cr1 visa. Hope it works because me and my wife are frustrated with this long waits and forced separation.

Ask in your regional forum how long recent AP lasted, like stated by others it can last weeks, months or years.
usually a pattern emerges for some embassies but not always.

My husband and I went on the interview June 12. The console though us a month also but in the Dominican Republic is a CR1 case. On August 10 the console  show up at his house asking him some  of the questions ask at the day of the interview. They when around the neighborhood asking people if they knew us. The console though him they will notify him by email about there decision. So they when  2 days before the 2 month. I know it frustrating when they tell you a month and it actually takes more then a month. Like you said don't loose hope. I'm older then my husband by 10 years but who cares. As long as there love that, that's all that matters. 

How long is your passport valid for? It could mean you need a new passport, as the validity is supposed to be 6 months out.

Impossible to say how long, each case is individual, probably weeks and months rather than months and years.

Hello, but how long though? This is so frustrating.

My husband told me that the console was very hard on him, but my husband answered every question that were asked of him. The console asked him the same question twice but in different ways. I think the interview went well for him. Because if he wanted to deny my husband he would have done so at his interview. He gave my husband a white paper and he only put an X on Administrative processing. He told my husband that he is not approve nor denied and they would contact him in a month but we have not heard of anything as of yet. The console did Not put an X next to his passport I mistakenly said the first time. The console gave my husband back his passport which in my opinion I don't think is a bad thing like some people have said because I have read on VJ that this has happen to some people on here where they sent in their passport on a later date. So I have hope,faith and I trust God and he is in control. Was the console that interviewed you a very young man like in his 30's.. Window.. I think 14 or 15.?

Are you absolutely certain there wasn't some mistake in the paperwork you submitted?
 
It could have been something simple that was just incorrect.  Could be they caught a discrepancy.
 
Its unlikely calling uscis will get you anywhere.  But if you don't get the notice letter after a week or so you can definitely ask them about that. 

One of the two things, NOA2 or the April 26th letter was a mistake by USCIS. It does happen..
 
You need to try to talk to a tier 2 person at USCIS and find out if your petition actually was approved and sent to NVC or not.
 
Can also try calling NVC and inquiring if they have your case or not.
 
Perhaps your case went to NVC and was returned to USCIS for some reason?

I have no idea on how long it will take - could be days (hopefully), weeks, or months (unlikely). It won't hurt to call USCIS and check in if you don't hear anything. I don't think it's necessarily a sign for a denial or any particular issue with the petition. It is unusual, but they probably just need to verify something.

It's not an RFE or denial. It means exactly what it says...they are looking at the I-129F again. My guess is they found something during their final processing/packing to NVC that requires additional review or verification. It's not common, but it does happen. If they need additional documentation, they should send an RFE.

Edit: The other possibility is somebody mistyped something.

So long as the US citizen brings an American passport they can enter.
 
If you check our timeline we were pretty on target for dates and such.  One note, our case was held up due to an embassy mistake that occurred between receipt of what they call packet 3 and the scheduling of our interview.  That mistake cost us about 3 weeks roughly.
 
It was extremely frustrating.  But everything else we did in the process we completed as fast as we could.
 
My husband was exempt too and thankfully we were covered for a while after the interview.  I just hope your case is smooth and easy.  

Your army exemption ends 6 months after the interview?
 
I don't think you'll have a problem with that for the embassy interview.  I think you'll possibly have issues for when you are trying to leave the country.  But that depends on how long after the interview you are waiting for your visa approval.
 
Sometimes it can take months to get the final visa in your passport.  Its depends on if you get stuck in AP.
 
You'll definitely need army clearance to leave though.  My husband and I waited an additional 10 days after the visa was approved for the army clearance so that he could leave.  If your exemption is expired by that point I think you'll run into problems.

I'm at 101 days. I was told today that they could not inquire @ my case until the processing date on USCIS' website passes my received date on my NOA1. I'm sure that's the standard answer.

I am from Nov 3rd too. We are still waiting as well, haven't heard anything besides NOA1.

I wonder if they keep the more "difficult" cases for last, both my fiancee and I were married at one point. Is your case similar at all?

Anyone from 3rd of November? I still didn't get any word since NOA1, this long wait is devastating!
