You're overthinking this. I have been on the receiving end of a call from USCIS -they were lucky I picked up the phone because I never do, but somehow I knew they were going to call me in March 2020 to cancel my interview. Plus, they gave you an address that is a USCIS building, so it's not like you are going into a hood full of gangsta🤣

Or is there something about your application that you are worried about?

no worries in my application. just an overthinker who got weirded out with a phone call. I was at the hospital when they called me so I'm having a handful yesterday. 😝

I can see why, after people struggle through the process for so long, then out of the blue, it seems so easy and everything is wrapped up and done that it could be perceived as a scam.  Nothing about immigration is easy...then all of a sudden it is.  If the process were smooth and transparent throughout, people wouldn't be so skeptical.

    AGREE!

If an application for naturalization is approved, the applicant signs everything at the conclusion of the interview and that includes going over the information that will be reflected on their Certificate of Naturalization. Once the applicant checks and sign everything, the IO will then sign and place a yellow paper (Notice of Conclusion of Examination and referal for Quality Review) on A-file. This completes the N400 journey, and triggers the notification "We recommended that your Form N-400: Application for Naturalization be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review."

Claims4 merged Claims3 and introduced few more automations. One of them is to trigger queing for Oath Cermoney while eliminating duplicate SORN. If all is good, an IO will issue a Notice of Oath Ceremony, asking the applicant to retun the last page on the day of Oath.

Have you received notice that your N400 was approved? Because this would have required you to review and sign during the interview.

If you completed all these steps and signed everything, I dont know what else is left.

My interview last Sept 1 was actually a combo interview for both I-751 and N400. I passed the interview N400 and signed everything the officer told me that day. At the end, she gave me the N-652 form, telling me my application is recommended for approval. She then told me that she needs to review the I-751 and approve it first before my N400 case can move on. By September 6, my I-751 case changed it's status into your " Case has been approved". They event sent me a letter telling me the same thing and that they won't be sending a green card and should just wait for the Naturalization Certificate and Oath taking to occur. My N400's case status online, until this very moment, is still at the "Interview has been scheduled" status. No document was uploaded for new notifications.

Anyway, I'll just go to the schedule I guess.

Yes the officer told me they calling from uscis office  and they asked me if he was talking to mohammad Awan I answered yes and then he asked me if I can come on oath ceremony (after three days from their call). I asked him why uscis did not send me the letter and he replied because of shortage of time if they send me letter i gonna miss this oath ceremony and have to wait for second one.

So when you went there, you just got on line and voila! Oath taking? No questions from the guards for you? Wow!!

I do hope this happens to me too. Thanks!

Hey, go ahead with it. I swear  same thing happened to me I got a call from uscis office and I didn't believe the officer that he was calling me from uscis office. But I went for oath ceremony anyway and I found out there were lot of people in two lines and immigrant. Officers were collecting green cards from them before their oath.

I would also like to ask if you received any n445 form (notice of oath taking) to show the guards before going to your sched or you just told the guard about the “uscis call”?

What did the officer tell you? I’m a bit skeptical because she didn’t mention anything about an oath and instead ‘sign for your naturalization documents and bring your green card. So i’m super confused. But I do hope this is the oath taking ceremony

I personally don’t like such informal “ come on down for a little this/that “ calls.

They have never ended in anything good..in my experience .

It takes less time/ effort and resources ( $$)   for them to shoot off a template I-72 / aka RFE post interview and press SEND ( it will print and get mailed out bulk rate postage)…..than assign task to another ( human) staff to call .

You can take a moment and review ALL your own immigration journey ( from day one of any filings/visa apps/ and anything you may consider a possible issue)….post here if you want feedback…

I did, and I do know everything was ok that’s why we got an approval in both 751 and n400. I’m just really waiting to be sched for the oath.

  7. Just this afternoon, I have received a phone call from a USCIS officer telling me to go to the USCIS office because I need to sign some documents for my Naturalization. I just recently finished my combo 751+Naturalization Interview last Sept 1 from the Baltimore office. My Naturalization has been approved on the spot but cannot give a schedule for the oath taking ceremony because she needs to approve the 751 first. On Sept. 6, my I-751 status has finally changed to "approved" and is now therefore ready for my Naturalization papers to move on for it's scheduling of oath ceremony. Fast forward today, I received a phone call from this number 410 779 5194. She asked for me (telling my whole name) and informed that she was calling from USCIS. The caller then tells me I need to go to the USCIS office to sign documents for my Naturalization and asked if I'm okay for the schedule this coming Monday in the morning (gave me a specific time). I told them I was ok and will just proceed. Now she then told me to bring my green card during that schedule. I did ask her If I will be given an email or notice to give to the guard so I can enter the office. but she then tells me that there's no need for that and just told me to tell my name to the guard and that I have received a phone call from them. I was like OK at first and proceed to give me the address of USCIS Baltimore (which I checked and is correct) then we ended the call.

Coming home, it dawned to me if the call was legit. I don't remember any documents i missed signing, the officer during the interview told me everything was ok and so here i was thinking if the call was a scam. The schedule will be this monday, and i was wondering if i should still go or not. Is this supposedly an oath taking ceremony? Because she never mentioned the word oath taking, but just sign documents. has anyone experienced this? Let alone from the Baltimore office? My N400 status still hasn't changed from its "Interview has been scheduled" status and no new documents/notification  were uploaded on my USCIS account.

Reading some of your comments what I thought was the case is true. Potomac Service Center has longest processing time!

My wife's I-751 recieved date is Dec 15, 2020. We did Bio's in May 2021 and haven't had an update since.

What really stinks is that we booked a cruise for November and my wife's 24 months expires in October. We booked it and honestly didn't remember about checking the expiration dates. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we can get an Info Pass appointment and get the stamp (I-551).

Anyone here had any luck with Info Pass appointment yet? Do I need to wait until we are closer to 24 months expiring before attempting to make an appt?

You can call the uscis and mention you want to schedule an infopass. It should be atleast 30 days prior the expiration date or maybe earlier. Tell them your reason for it (ex. For work, driver’s license, travel etc.) and if accepted, they will tell you to wait for a return call for them to schedule you an appointment. This is what I’ve done based on experience last year.
Expect a return call after a month. Can’t remember much, but I called August last year and they returned my call by September. The caller will then tell you what the available dates and time slots are still vacant, and will give you an email for the details. Then that’s it. The  earliest vacant slot they got me was 2 weeks after the call. It could be any date since it depends on the vacancy. Hope this help.

Baltimore must be one of the worst offices in the country right now when it comes to N-400.  Still nothing from them, filed FOIA, received A-Record, filed out of processing time, canned message, reached out to Congressman, they got the same canned message, and now we got another communication about being out of processing time after we filed a 2nd out of processing after it was up again( due to their constant change of calculation times).  They stated, if she does not receive an interview notice within 90 days to call the service center, lol.  Baltimore must have some the worst processing times.  Unreal.....  Sorry, just needed to vent.

I’m also under the Baltimore’s office. Like you, I have also done the same process of sending out an outside processing notice. I have also reached out with the Senators. But as you have said, the uscis Baltimore only sent me an email stating that I’m on a waiting list for an interview. I also have another contact who’s also under Baltimore’s office who opted for a second stamp of his passport just to get to travel abroad.

I’m also getting tired of waiting.

    Hello, November 2020 Filers,

Just a quick message to say I finally got my N-400 interview scheduled. I am based in Maryland. I received an email from the no-reply USCIS email address, informing me an action on my case has been taken. The digital appointment notice was in the documents section of my online USCIS account. I am sure a paper letter is coming soon too.

The appointment is scheduled for the Baltimore Office, located on Koppers Street, on March 9th. I’ve been to this office 3 times: for I-751 biometrics and two I-751 stamps - with the most recent visit on December 15, 2021. I hope those of you based in the DMV area will receive your notices soon too.

Few words about my immigration history.

    July 1, 2017: entered USA on a marriage-based green card (CR1).

April 18, 2019: applied for removal of conditions on my green card (I-751).

April 22, 2019: received the standard receipt/extension letter for my green card (Notice of Action I-797).

July 3, 2019: I-751 is stuck on “Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview” step.

December 18, 2020: 1st InfoPass Appointment to get I-751 stamp in my passport.

February 4, 2020: I-751 is still stuck on “Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview” step.

November 15, 2020: applied for N-400 with my I-751 still pending.

February 1, 2021: USCIS letter notifying me my biometrics can be reused, and I don't need to appear to submit them again.

December 15, 2021: 2nd InfoPass Appointment to get another I-751 stamp in my passport.

February 1, 2022: received online notice for N-400 interview.

When I spoke to USCIS officer, who stamped my passport for I-751, they told me they are trying to make progress on N-400 applications, and hopefully I will hear from them soon. That was this December.

I assume it will be a combined interview for I-751 and N-400. My wife and I are intending to bring 4 years of tax returns, some bank statements, house title, and other documents proving our relationship to the interview. Let me know if you have other suggestions. Right now, I am re-revising my N-400 test questions, looking forward to March, and really hoping I would be lucky to have the Oath ceremony on the same day (my interview is around midday).

Finally, this is a wonderful community. My wife and I have been reading information shared here since the beginning of our journey in 2016. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your stories and suggestions. I am sure countless people in similar situations benefited from your experience and advice.

I will report back on my progress.

Good for you! I’m also from Maryland but still waiting for the notification. I’m only a few days apart from your date of application, and hearing good news from you brings hope to my case as well. Seriously, our office has been too stagnant. Good luck on your interview.

Finally received my interview notice on 1/13, scheduled for 2/23. It has been very stressful for us in last couple of months waiting for this notice. I guess the FOIA request which I submitted on 12/10 helped. Good luck everyone!

Congratulations! By the way, did you get any response from your FOIA request before receiving your interview notice?

hi folks, my i751 is pending at potamac for over 15 months and i have a pending n400.

on uscis website, "Estimated Time Until Case Decision" increased by 3 months. is this accurate?

    i would appreciate any help.

24 mos pending for i751 and I also have a pending N400. Although, my i751 got transferred to another office (to NBC, according to the letter) last February 2020. I’m assuming it’s because of my n400. I’ve now gotten a stamp since the extension letter is no longer valid just in case I

Anyway, I won’t trust the timeline. It changes a lot.

I'm wondering if this means, it's now at your local office for interview etc? ROCs are processed in a service center e.g. YSC, but N-400s are ultimately processed in a local office.

From the other thread, we (and other people) just actually assumed it might be processed together with the N400 since the transfer notice I got tells me that it was transferred to NBC. They even reused our biometrics from the ROCs for the N400. Again we are just assuming! But here's to hoping that the NBC local office are really processing them together. Just to add, other people from the N400 thread initially went to their ROC interview schedule but was able to request verbally an N400 interview on the spot and got approved on the same day.

I submitted application in November2019 to Potomac Center. It's been on "Recieved" since then. I've had biometrics etc.

I'm pretty sure I just screwed it all up by applying for N400 last month. Who knows, maybe they will do a combo interview.

If this helps, I also submitted my I-751 around November 2019 and was received by Potomac, I even got my biometrics.
Then by November 2020, I applied for N400.  I received notification that my biometrics from I-751 will be re-used for N400 processing.

Around February, my I-751 updated telling me that my case from Potomac was transferred to a new office. Same thing happened to other people from the N400 November filers thread. They say that our I-751 might be transferred to the same office where our n400 are also being processed. So... I'm assuming you might get the same treatment in a few months as I was, especially that you have Baltimore as your local office.  Baltimore has a 7 to 14 month processing time right now for N400.

  15. 13 hours ago, Mark🇹🇹 said:

Do you have a pending N400? My i751 from Potomac  was transferred yesterday to. But I think it’s because I have a pending N400 and a couple days before, I had gotten a biometrics reuse. So now I’m assuming 😬 both cases are at my local office which is Baltimore. All the best!

Yes! I also got my biometric reuse notification this week. So... combo interview I guess? My local office is also in Baltimore. When is your completion time? They changed back mine from Sept to November again! 😅

  16. 18 hours ago, Stefi said:

I haven't got update since I received the first NOA. My estimated completion time is September (7 months). Baltimore office.

My status did not change, it's still the 'document received'. What I got was a notification of biometric reuse. You can see it in your uploaded documents tab in your uscis account, if you applied yours online. You won't see it if you use the case tracker. Also, they will send you a mail.

My completion time stats last January was also September, now they changed it back to November.
