Kate + Evgeny reacted to jessyjessy in Administrative Processing and Administrative Processing - two different cases.
Hi all. I want to share my story for those who is undergoing AP and hope this will help a little.
07/30 - I had my interview. CO didn't clearly say if I was approved or not. I had one missing doc and I was aware of that. This was a Police Clearance from one country I lived more than 6 months. They kept my passport and told me to send the doc to them and they will contact me. They gave me white 221 g form.
07/30 - CEAC status showed AP ( Your case needs further review. )
08/01 - Sent the Police clearance to the embassy.
08/02 - Got a text from the courier saying the doc was delivered.
08/02 - CEAC still on AP
..... I didn't call the embassy regarding the doc submitted cause my fiance told me that's not how the government works, the more you call them the more they do it late...
08/09 - Sent an email to the embassy and ask for acknowledgment upon receipt of the doc submitted. ( couldn't wait no more so I asked them )
08/11 - Got an email from the embassy saying they have received additional doc and referred my case to concerned team for processing. CEAC still on AP.
08/12 - CEAC changed to READY ( You can book your appointment. )
08/13 - CEAC showed READY ( your case is open and wait for two business days. )
08/15 - CEAC changed to AP ( Your case is undergoing necessary AP. This can take several weeks. )
08/16 - CEAC changed to ISSUED.
I hope this helps a little. There is an AP and there is an AP. They are two different cases depends on it's content. You are put on AP after the interview if your case needs further review , you may have one missing doc or they really need further review ( CEAC shows AP your case requires furhter review. ) and there is AP which showez your case is undergoing necessary AP ( If I am not mistaken this AP showed when they will issue you a visa soon )
If you have any questions on my case, feel free to ask I will help. God Bless to all of us.

AP usually takes days, sometimes weeks, rarely months, and very rarely years. It's been 1 week for you, which isn't anything of concern. Tourist visas and immigrant visas (or at least those handled by the immigrant visa unit like a K-1) are processed by different units within the embassy, so I wouldn't compare times there. It's not a bad sign...it's just processing.

Keep in mind Monday (Oct. 9th) is a federal US holiday, so the embassy is probably closed.

There are plenty of background checks that go around during the process. It's kinda crazy  Sorry to hear about your heart problem but he will be there with you soon!

Great, it's nice to know we have the option of getting it in the US!

I'm not sure if there's a high probability, really. I just know that he used to be a smoker for many years, and I don't know what they're looking for on the X-ray. I don't know if they're watching for something really specific to TB, or if anything looking even slightly unusual might be cause for a sputum test.

I actually thought background checks were mostly done at this point. So another delay to need to worry about, I guess. I'm just very concerned because I was actually living with him for almost two years since we met, and I had to fly home late last month in emergency mode because of heart problems. I can't even go back because it's taking forever to get me to a specialist and I'm not cleared to fly. We're having a really hard time being apart, especially with everything going on with my health. We were December filers, and the wait has been extremely hard. The idea of being delayed another long amount of time is just gut wrenching.

If you are not 100% confident with getting vaccines in CR, it's OK to do it in the US. You can go to any civil surgeon for that and have them transcribe everything onto the I-693.

I think it takes 60 days before seeing any result in the culture test. Is there a high possibility of your beneficiary needing it? If not, don't stress yourself out  If it's needed, just get it done and your visa issuance will just be delayed because of that. Between that and AP, I would take that since AP could span longer than that if there are any issues during background checks. LOL.

That's good information about the DS-3025, thank you! We are actually concerned about the vaccine in CR because we think that it might be less safe to get them there. Maybe it's an unnecessary concern, but there is a question in our minds about the effectiveness and sterility of different medical procedures there based on some previous experiences.

This is new question, but I was just reading that if there is a sputum test needed it will take at least two months to even see the results? Is that true in every country?

    Thank you again.

Not a problem. Now let's wait for others to respond about the CR specific questions

Btw, if vaccinations are cheaper in CR, your beneficiary might wanna get them done there instead of the US. Also, make sure he/she asks for a copy of the DS-3025 for your own record because you'll need it for AOS.

    1) No idea.

    2) K-1 can get their vaccines at K-1 medical OR in the US before AOS. Flu season wise, my guess is the US.

    3) No idea either.

    4) US petitioner's tax transcripts or related supporting documents for the I-134. They wanna know your income and ability to support your beneficiary to not end up becoming a public charge.

After much yelling, calling, emailing, and with absolutely no assistance from our district congressman (that I'm aware of at least), we are finally approved. I received an email this morning saying an approval notice was mailed June 1. The tracker is still showing received. Unfortunately, it comes too late to keep up from having to change all of our wedding plans, but that's an issue we're willing to work with, just knowing we're done with the process.

Here's hoping and praying everyone else still waiting from early December will see the end of this in the next week or two. Thank you to everyone who ran scans, posted updates, and offered advice!

I had my interview yesterday in Dublin. We got approved!!!!

I was in and out in less than 50 minutes and it was quite busy in there with j1 visa applicants.

Most of the documents listed weren't needed. Just passport, confirmation of payment and interview, 2 pictures, sealed medical, birth cert and copy(original given back to me), police cert, i-134, work letter, bank statement and 2016 tax return. All other documents relating to i134 were given back to us.

The girl before me was denied but she had overstayed in the US before so she was being interviewed 30 minutes and probably the only reason I was there for even 50 minutes, it would have been less otherwise.

Questions were super easy, just normal relationship questions.
How did we meet, when and how did the relationship progress.
    How did he propose.
    What are the wedding plans.
What kind of work will i be looking to get in the US.
Did I read about my laws as a spouse in the US

That was it and he said I was approved and welcome to the US. I told him I would hug him if I could, he laughed and said thank you haha

So for anyone worried about the interview, please don't it's super casual at least it was in Dublin.

    Hey, everyone!

Well, we are December 22 filers with an NOA1 date of 1/3, and we FINALLY have an update! We got an RFE at last, with the tracker stating an RFE mailing date of 5/23. We were pretty nervous because we really didn't know what it might be. But the paper version was delivered yesterday (5/27), and we were actually kind of shocked because it was only a request for a better passport style photo of me! We're going to try to take this opportunity to add some extra photos, though, and maybe some letters of support from friends (we already have some from my parents). We really, really hope everything will go smoothly from here forward! We are SO thankful something is finally happening after so much time! It is actually sort of surreal now that it's really moving!

Our thoughts are with everyone else still waiting in this process, and we are particularly hopeful for those who still haven't had movement on their cases yet. Keep going!!! We believe in you all! <3

I am also running the weekly scan now. If the internet doesn't do something crazy it should be posted in the next couple of hours.
