GC Interview - question
Two days ago I received notification that my interview was scheduled. I was quite surprised how quick they did it given that just 1,5 months ago I received EAD+AP card.
I was going to renew my passport before Christmas, since we are flying to visit my family back to my home country (passport expires in April 2019).
QUESTION: Can I bring the copy of my passport for the interview? I know it sounds silly but I thought I will ask you...
Nevermind, I just realized I will keep my old passport until I get a new one.

Sorry I'm not able to give a more clear answer, but is there any way you can renew it online? My husband was able to renew his online because it was expiring just a few months after we got married, and the whole renewal process took about 2-3 weeks to get his new passport. If you are able to renew online, just be sure to send it by trackable courier (FedEx) and ensure that the renewal includes a return of your original passport with your original visa in it. I can't recall if it was the DMV that required the original visa or if it was the Social Security office when he applied for his SSN, but one of the two needed to see the original visa to verify he was who he said he was.
My embassy requires applying in person plus I changed my last name and here is a problem - changing my last name in my home country and then applying for a new passport... Not sure what is gonna be cheaper apply here for a new passport or stay buy a new plane ticket, stay 2 more weeks in my home country and apply for it there.

You need a valid passport my wife went to her country and renewed her passport.
I know I need a valid passport. My question is if they may not let me in to the US because at the time of my entering to the US my passport will be valid for 4 more months (not 6)?

Any Wisconsin filers got their interview scheduled ?? As per my findings - All October 2017 filers interviews were scheduled early last month.
Anyone who filed in November and has their interview scheduled, please share your timeline!
Thanks in advance!
Waiting for interview to be scheduled as well

Does anyone know if I can visit my home country for Christmas with passport that expires 4 months later (in April 2019)? I know with other visas - J1, B2 etc - your passport must be valid at least 6 months when you are entering US.
Can I enter US with this passport when I am waiting for Adjustment of Status (having AP document in hand)?

Did you forward to Tammy Daldwin`s office?
No, I've been working with Mark Pocan's office.

Good morning everyone!
I still cant believe it after 260 days I was approved for EAD! Thanks to congressman's office who helped me pushing it forward! I am over the moon!
Thank you for your support and advices, you guys are the best 🙂

You should definitely schedule an Infopass at your local office to inquire about your EAD, call and speak to a tier 2 officer, send a request to the ombudsman and also get help from your Congressman/Senator because you are totally out of processing times.
Sorry for the long wait, and good luck!
I am in touch with my Congressman's office, they helped me a lot! They told me to wait 60 days to hear back from USCIS from the day they got my RFE reply. Before that they can't do anything 😮

How long does it take USCIS after receiving RFE reply to process it? They received mine 1,5month ago, then 3 weeks ago status changed to ready to be scheduled for an interview, but no EAD or AP. It's been 255 days people! 😮 I am seriously on the edge, I am so so disappointed, I've been so patient, but cant handle it anymore. ..

That is great. From what I can see, you should receive your interview notice in maybe a month or so.....Milwaukee is fairly fast, thats where I had my interview.
Amazing news! Thank you! Do you think its possible they would skip my EAD and AP since I am under Milwaukee and they may schedule it soon?

UPDATE on our case:
After 5 months of waiting I was able to contact Congressman's office. Either they actually helped a lot or it was a miracle that they looked into our case around the same time, 2 weeks after I reached them. We got RFIE in the end of March (SO LATE!) the letter didn't come, because there wasn't my name on my mail box. Finally thorough congressman office I received RFIE and was able to collect missing docs regarding Affidavit of Support. We sent the package last Saturday and I know National Benefit Center received it yesterday.
Today is my 200 day since I applied for AOS! Fingers crossed that they will check my package and will receive essential EAD+AP docs really soon.... :-)

How long have you waited for RFE letter? I received online notification about RFE last friday (Mar 20), on monday I got an email - informed delivery - with letters from USCIS. I have never received them... and I am getting worried. I went to the post office but they just told me there is no tracking numbers on these letters so they are not able to track them, so basically I have to wait. I am concerned that USPS sent it back to the USCIS :(((((((((

I’m sorry to be a debbie downer but, a RFE? After waiting so many days and no answer about your work permit? Jeez, was initial or additional evidence?
Yesss , it is really sad realizing that they haven't touched our case for 5 months! I am not sure why we got RFE, we're still waiting for the letter.

Hi everyone,
After making 2 case inquiries by myself and 1 case inquiry by congessman finally something moved. We just got notification that they are sending us RFE. I know that it means our EAD/AP is put on hold, but I am just happy that they looked in our case...

God, I am desperate, the apps just told me that a RFE have been sent today 😩
I haven't gotten RFE yet but I expect it. Congressman's office told me if I got RFE then it will delay processing 4 - 6 weeks... Not sure what to believe anymore

+150 days and counting on my I-765, yesterday my moter in law sent an email to our congressperson (or senator) and today I sent an complaint form to our Ombudsman office.
Hope to receive answers soon.
Good luck! Did exactly the same... also +150 days

150 days today, USCIS processing times shows today Nov 17 which is my NOA date. Could never even imagine this process may take such a long time. Seeing EAD timelines here on VJ seems like they mostly work on cases from summer '17 or Dec'18... I won't ever understand their system.

That is very frustrating... I have seen sooo many people that have reached out to their Reps that have made inquiries on their behalf even if they were not beyond normal processing times.
Exactly... everything depends of the congressman I guess.
Has anyone tried to reach ombudsman?

Day 138. I’ve just spent couple min on August AOS fillers forum and it just made me so sad and dissapointed, even more than I already was. People who applied in August wait for +200 days(!!!).
I recently contacted my congressman’s office, here is her response:
„If your application is beyond normal processing times based on the dates listed under ‘Processing Cases as of Date’ at the USCIS Service Center listed here, https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do, I am happy to make an inquiry. „
So I have to wait at least 2 more weeks for her help.

Hello!
Two days ago we had our GC interview and we we approved! It's such a relief after 2 years of stress and anxiety and paperwork. The interview itself was very casual and the officer was just so nice and easygoing!
I was quite stressed but there is nothing to be stressed about if your relationship is solid. Officers can really see it!
Good luck everyone!
