Yes, we did. We weren't positive if 2 were needed for each section so just to be safe we sent 2 with each application.

My husband received his Biometrics appointment letter this past Thursday 8/31. Appointment is scheduled for 9/12/17. Seems like things are moving pretty smoothly so far. Fingers crossed for a quick approval for all!

Ashley Scott got a reaction from Morty in What is the next steps when arriving in America
His POE was very smooth. The only issue he had was that the line was kind of long. It took around 2 hours or so from the time he got off the plane until he was finished but most of that was standing in line. He said the officers took his paperwork and entered it in the system and then told him congratulations and welcome and sent him on his way.

Congrats on your approval! My husband got here on June 23rd and we are still navigating our way through this process as well but I will share what we have done so far.
June 23rd - Arrival (JFK was POE and South Carolina was the final stop)
July 14th - Applied for Social Security number (needed passport with K1 visa and I-94 arrival record which we printed offline https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home) AND added him to my bank account (we did not need his SS number.. only 2 forms of ID which we used his passport and his UK license)
July 21st - Received SS card in the mail.
August 4th - Marriage
August 15th - Sent AOS packet
August 28th - Received the NOA1s for this AOS packet
And now we are waiting. We plan to get his license in the next week or so. From what I have been told for South Carolina he needs 2 proofs of residency (letter from the bank and letters from USCIS), his NOA1 from AOS, his current license, and passport with visa. We are told he can take his written and practical exam on the same day. We hope this is true. I will update once we are able to obtain his license.
Good luck to you! If we run across any helpful information I will send it your way.

Ashley Scott got a reaction from S*UK in Obtaining medical records from the UK
So glad you were able to get an answer on this. I have to say, we do not miss those days of trying to figure out what was needed and when and where to get it! lol. I will say the overall process and experience for the K1 from the UK was smooth and pleasant. My husband had a very positive experience with Knightsbridge and at the embassy and we were able to get him here with no hiccups. I hope the same for you all and please let me know if you have any questions. I will try to answer any that I can! Good luck with the rest of your process!

Ashley Scott reacted to sunj in Obtaining medical records from the UK
Hi @S*UK
I've just contacted Knightbridge Clinic and the receptionist was very helpful she said that we just need a Summary Care Record (https://digital.nhs.uk/summary-care-records)
Its a 2-7 page document summarising your medical history and not requiring a full comprehensive medical report.
I just called my GP practise back and they said they can issue a username and password which allows you to download the records online through the NHS portal above or you can normally get the practise manager to do it for you.
The username and password issued works straight away within an hour of issuance if you wanted to have online access.
Hope this helps, and thanks @Ashley Scott, most helpful.
Best,
Sunjay

Ashley Scott got a reaction from GazLisa in Anyone here from the UK going thru k1 visa?
Hey! They did take my affidavit of support as well as my tax returns for the last 3 years. As far as I know you will have to provide an affidavit regardless of the situation due to the fact that you are unable to work until after you receive your EAD from AOS which will be months after you arrive. I would go ahead and have his father prepare to be a co-sponsor for you due to your situation. Better to be safe than sorry!
And thank you! Trying to make it through a full day at work before I pick my fiancé up from the airport this evening! He is currently on his way though and I could not be any more excited!
Congrats on getting your NOA2! Things really do fly from that point! Good luck to you with the rest of your progress. Hope it goes quickly and smoothly!

Welcome! My fiancé is from the U.K. We filed on December 21, 2016 and he got his approval at the interview on June 1, 2017. He flies over tomorrow so we are super excited about that right now!! There are a ton of U.K. couples on here that I have found. It has been really nice to get to know people and chat about the process! Where are you guys in your process?

Ashley Scott got a reaction from rachied26 in Anyone here from the UK going thru k1 visa?
Thank you! We are having our legal wedding ceremony on August 4, 2017 and then we will be planning a 1 year vow renewal ceremony and reception for August 4, 2018. So this year will be very simple and sweet and next year we will celebrate with everyone. We scheduled the medical for a month after we received our case number and the interview for the following week. The interview process was super simple for my fiancé. His appointment was scheduled for 1pm and he was completely done and walking out with an approval by 1:28. So only 28 minutes from entering the building to leaving. haha. They only asked him about 5 basic questions.. Where I live, where my parents live, where my daughter stays after school, etc.. and then told him he had already been approved.
I will break down our timeline for you so that you can get a better idea of how our process went.
12/21/16 - I-129f packet sent to Texas
12/23/16 - I-129f packet received
1/5/17- NOA1 receipt date
1/10/17 - NOA1 Hardcopy received
4/4/17 - NOA2 approval
4/12/17 - NOA2 Hardcopy received
4/21/17 - NVC Received
4/24/17 - Case number assigned from NVC
4/25/17 - Case forwarded to London (we scheduled the medical on this day)
4/28/17 - Case received in London (we scheduled the interview on this day)
5/22/17 - Medical
6/1/17 - Interview (approved)
6/23/17 - Enter United States
When it comes to tips.. Honestly there is not too much you can do at this point. Research will be your best friend. Start making a checklist of things you will need for the medical and interview. I started preparing my affidavit while I was waiting and just waited to sign and date it until we got the approval. You will need to request a police certificate but it has to be within 6 months of your medical so you don't want to do this too early. It only took about 2 weeks for my fiancé to receive his so I wouldn't stress that too much. Check that you have all of your vaccines and if you are missing any go ahead and schedule to get them with your general practitioner. It is cheaper than getting them at the medical or in the United States. Other than that, just try to enjoy this time as much as you can. Once the NOA2 comes things fly by!
I am more than happy to answer any questions I can that you come across. I am no expert in this but have definitely learned a lot (from all of the awesome people on this forum) during the process! Sorry for the lengthy post but hopefully some of this will help! haha. Best of luck for a speedy process for you two!
Here is the checklist I sent my fiancé for the medical and interview:
For Medical—
Confirmation of LND case number from NVC (my fiancé received this in the mail about 1-2 weeks after London received our case)
Police Certificate
4 passport photos
Drivers license or passport
Vaccination Record
Medical Summary from your doctor (only if you check yes to any of the questions on the questionnaire)
Medical questionnaire
For Interview—
Letter from the embassy with approved I-129f
Confirmation of appointment date and time (from email)
Copy of ds-160 confirmation page (from email)
I-134 affidavit of support
USC's tax records and w2s
Birth Certificate (original long form)
Police Certificate (original)
2 us sized Passport photos

Ashley Scott reacted to MarRo in Purchasing airline ticket
Our Visa was approved today! When booking the ticket to travel from Europe to the United States a round trip ticket is significantly less expensive than a one way ticket. Is it okay to book a round-trip ticket "just in case" for the unlikely event he would have to use it the return portion? I know throwaway ticketing can result in a fee if you have done this in the past but we have not. I would love input on the subject.

Ashley Scott got a reaction from GazLisa in Question about UK Vaccinations
Yes, I am so glad to finally be coming to the end. We had tentative dates set in our heads from the beginning and we lucked out that everything fell in line and we have met every one of them. So we are flying him over on the date we originally intended and our family beach trip and then wedding date that we planned will work out nicely after he gets here. It is such a relief though to have the medical and interview behind us. Good luck to you guys with everything! Hope it all goes as quickly and smoothly as possible!
