Hi All,
 
My parents I130 applications are approved and NVC case status also shows completed.
 
My father's case was completed on January 23,2019 and my mother's case was completed on February 07,2019.
 
My parents are in India and they will give an interview at Bombay (Mumbai) embassy.
 
My questions are :  1) Since both the cases were completed on different dates, Mumbai embassy will scheduled interview separately for both or Embassy will scheduled interview for both at a same time ?
                                   2) How much time it will take to give us an email notification about an interview date and time ?
                                   3) When we can expect the date of interview after case completion ?

12/07/2018- Finally!!!Received an email from NVC that all the required documents are approved. It’s documentarily qualified and they will schedule the interview.
12/17/2018 The interview has been scheduled on 01/03/2019!!!!

All originals and a copy of what you sent to NVC is needed at the Consulate as a baseline. You may need to add a few more docs to support your case as well. 

Sorry for delay. Yes, I think you don't need it, since husbands don't change name here after getting married.

You don't need to send the original.  You are only required to send photocopies of those said documents mentioned above, unless they ask for it ( maybe during the interview).
 
Now, are you married? If so, please don't forget to send in a copy of your marriage certificate. If your Mom is married too, I might as well send a copy of her marriage certificate as well. In addition to your naturalization certificate, I also send in a copy of the biographical page of my passport  just to show proof of domicile.

I became a citizen yesterday at USCIS Charlotte, NC in a very nice Oath ceremony.
Now, it is time to start applying for passport and update SSN in 10 business days.

No. He can visit during the process, although it may raise a little additional scrutiny at POE that he intends to return home. Always carry evidence of ties showing you will return home. You would need to be the primary sponsor no matter what, but you can use an I-864A with your spouse to include their income/assets. In some cases the intending immigrant's income can be included...check the I-864 instructions for details. The process will take a little over a year on average. He cannot enter with intent to AOS, though (that's fraud...going back to #1). He will apply for an IR-5 visa after the petition is approved and NVC processing completes.

Just to update that yesterday i received an email saying that the Oath ceremony was scheduled. I will let you know when the letter arrives. Looks like the Charlotte, NC office is moving faster now.
 

I just posted the table with my interview date!
 

I explained to him about my husband's situation and gave him the whole packet of expediting request with dr's letters and medical records, he said he would talk to the supervisor, he did not waive the interview, he just said he would talk to him today. Thanks for the wish on my husband. Very tough times.

I hope everything went well and your interviewer (and the supervisor) was able to wave your I-751 interview (and your hubby is recovering well)!

Thanks for your good wish, he said twice that he would just forget about the 236 dollars since the amount is insignificant, he said if the worse comes to worse, I just need to submit the proof of payment. I hope I will hear from them soon, so grueling that I have to worry about my man's health and survival and deal with the immigration at the same time. We will see, I did the best I could.

So many got approved without a 751 interview, and I had to try hard to prove my husband is in no condition to do the interview, I hope what I did help a bit, I can not think of what more I could have done to prove that. Hope better days are coming.

I am sorry to hear that your husband is in critical condition. I understand your frustration, your interview was for N400, I would think that it should be added to the I751. However, if it won't I hope they will understand the situation and help with expedite solicitation. Did you bring evidence of that IRS payment? Or, at least he mentioned how to send it promptly?

Happy to announce that I attended my oath ceremony,and am now officially a citizen!
 
My oath ceremony letter said to arrive at 8:30am on Friday to Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn, New York. My wife and I arrived right at 8:30, since I read online in advance, that the first half hour or even more is just checking in. They sat everyone in a given row in the courthouse on a first come first serve basis, so later when they handed out the naturalization certificate, the early folks got to leave slightly earlier as well.
 
Next steps, the officers were dealing with certain individual cases (name changes, other issues/problems). The process was not too bad, but I do think it could be much more efficient if they had someone deal with a given person's issue while the rest of the officers processes the masses. But instead, a lot of time was spent with everyone just waiting for the officers to deal with one person. Oh well, it was still all pretty quick, so not complaining too much. That person actually ended up being sent back to have their oath rescheduled, because he lived in the Bronx and not in Brooklyn, so they couldn't process him there.
 
I also knew not to hold expectations too high on the court letting our friends and family partake in the actual ceremony part. But, luckily and because we were a group of 150 (vs up to 250), they decided to let everyone in. So my wife did get to witness. The judge was really nice and had a great speech. My wife and I were out of the building by 11am.
 
After getting the certificate, we went one building over to the post office, which accepts passport applications. They only had one person dealing with the influx of people, and even though I was 10th person in line, it still took about 1.5 hours (interestingly, the last 5 cases took 15 minutes, but the first 5 were complicated for whatever reason).

Wow, you are an early July 751 filer with 400 pending. Did you file on line or paper? Congratulations, I think that means you probably will get the interview letter soon.
