Quick update on mine. “Card being produced” on 11/4 has been updated to “card has been mailed” on 11/8. Weirdly they even added “case was approved” on 11/5 which I kind of gathered from the status update about the card lol. Still, only taking 4 days is cool. Although I actually flew to England 3 days ago so I’ll be using my I-155 Stamp to get back in on my return.
  2. Thanks

I would say so. I had my InfoPass appointment yesterday and got my I-155 stamp in my passport. It was very quick and easy. I just showed them my green card and my drivers licence and of course my passport. I heard the lady at the counter ask the person before me to show their extension letter but although I had mine she didn’t ask to see it. My stamp is valid for 1 year. As long as you’re within 30 days of the expiration date on your extension letter you can call for an InfoPass appointment. They have 30 days to respond to you and then they will schedule your appointment. My letter expired on 9/27 and my appointment wasn’t until 9/30 but USCIS doesn’t see that as any kind of issue. I had to update my employer with my I-155 stamp and they also did not question why one had expired before I got the other.

Potomac is processing at 20-22 months on average so you’re well within that time frame. So you could expect it between Feb and April next year. Of course that’s not exact, just average times. They seem to be getting to Jan and Feb 2020 cases at the moment. Mine is March 2020 and I’ve had no change in status since May 2020. When I spoke to the agent to arrange my InfoPass appointment all she said was “your case is still within normal processing times for Potomac”. So stay patient and if you get into the mindset of it being Spring next year then anything earlier will just be a nice surprise 🙂

I am glad that you got the call back. YSC seems doing better recently. I hope that your case will be approved soon.

I came back from Mexico with the extension letter. No problem whatsoever. No additional questions. The only ‘issue’ of course was that I had to scan my Green Card which of course has expired so I was sent to a secondary place to complete a form and then I just went with my husband to the officer who just glanced at everything and stamped my passport (with a regular stamp). I arrived into Fort Lauderdale.

Potomac Service Center: Case was approved on Aug 26 2021. Applied for ROC in Dec (27) 2019. Fingerprints February 2020. Changed address and notified USCIS in June 2021. Case status changed on Aug 25 2021 to “New Card is being Produced” and on Aug 26 2021 to “Case is Approved”.  No RFE, no interview, case always remained at YSC and I have not applied for citizenship.

Very appreciative for the guidance along the way on this forum. Good luck to those still waiting!

Our case status was updated today, new cards are being produced.  No interview.  My biometrics appointment was back in October while my dependent/daughter's biometrics were taken just this Monday. Two days after, we got the happy news! Merry Christmas!

I’m YSC also. I haven’t seen any movement on cases from there yet. I know there’s a brand new building which is where they are putting all MD officers. I’m not sure if that move could be a reason why there’s no action on cases, or just because they’re not the fastest Center for processing.

Either way I stopped getting excited about updates and expect no more movement until 2021 on my case. Fingerprints were accepted on May 13 which was a nice little bonus.

Thank you! You're so right of course. There's no need to be impatient as it's taken this long already, but it is that case of seeing the finish line (well, the first one, and then there's another in 2 years lol). It's so easy to overanalyze, your absolutely right, and it does us no good :-)

I appreciate the response though, so thanks and all the very best with yours too!

After going through the temporary work visa process, it all depends on the person interviewing.

Youll be fine, just the usual slow process

    It's all a waiting game.

It could be as simple as someone being out with the Flu that is reviewing your case to a check box needing to be checked.

You will be okay! It really is just a waiting game!

Good Luck!! Its so hard to not over analyze every step.
