@Mary Bernard @Mpowie any updates on what happened at USEM when you were not able to update DS-260 prior to interview?

Sorry for late response I was able to update DS-260 before Beneficiary interview. I called the embassy to re-open the ds-260 and they did.

So to keep everyone up to date. Beneficiary passed interview, arrived here in the U.S. March 21. Got her social security already Tuesday.

    Waiting on greencard.

I highly advise everyone to just get all updated documents.

The US embassy in Manila requires updated documents to be uploaded to CEAC prior to the interview.  That means recent NBI clearance and financial support documents.  If the document screener at USEM sees that the files in CEAC are outdated or do not match the original civil documents presented, they will not allow the visa applicant to proceed to the interview with the consul officer.  Worst case, the applicant will be told to leave and return after the documents have been scanned and uploaded.  USEM might offer a scanning service within the consulate premises, but I'm not sure if that's available to all applicants or if it was just a special service to elderly applicants at the time of my interview in Nov 2021.  Best not to rely on that and just come prepared with all the documents already uploaded.  I was able to upload my updated documents to CEAC without any issues one day before my interview.

Thanks Chancy I'll try again today

Is it because I'm using my phone to upload?

Do I need to use browser, or probably files to hig.

Idk if I upload new nbi clearance it says error

What about DS260? IT WONT LET ME UPDATE IT.

  3. Hello,

Although we already have an interview scheduled for next week Monday at manila embassy,

We have received an email from manila embassy stating that they have re-opened DS-260 and to update information, I'm guess the up to date info for Beneficiary. But there is no way to edit the DS-260

Also everything was uploaded via CEAC and it says on that email to upload all documents before interview, but it says error.

Can Beneficiary just bring all updated documents like NBI, POLICE CLEARANCE, INCOME TAX RETURN, TRANSCRIPTS W2 because everything was documentarily qualified of 2020 and what of they look for 2021 and 2022

Chancy, Mary I finally filed a request to Expedite my DQ’d stepchildren from NVC to USEM as my wife has already been scheduled for her Interview.  I had asked my Senator to get involved and they contacted the Embassy to no avail.  Talk about government bureaucracy, the children are only 6 & 9 so they won’t really be interviewed yet the response my Senator’s office received basically goes like this: NVC holds the Applicants until the Embassy requests more Files and the Embassy can’t do anything until they receive the files.  Sounds like Catch 22, doesn’t it.  I should have filed the Expedite request when Chancy suggested but I didn’t want to interfere with the Senators office.  If I get nowhere here than I think my only resort is to call the Senator (25 year friend) and ask him to contact the Embassy directly.  Before becoming a Senator he was the Japanese Ambassador.  That’s a big ask even though we’re friends,  what do you think?  If it takes as long for the kids to get to the Interview as my wife I’m looking at another 3-4 months.  From DQ to interview my wife was 140 days.

I was just reading somewhere on Google that if the kids are younger than 16, they don't require to be interviewed? Is this right? Or I could be wrong

So sorry that you have to go through this. Now it's another waiting game

Oo matagal na tlga yan sis

    Congratulations Mary!!!

We also were finally able to schedule our interview today, February 21st also for March 6th, early AM.

The bad news is my 2 young, 6 & 9 yo stepchildren are still at NVC, DQ’d but not yet released to the Embassy.  We will keep trying to get them expedited but may need to reschedule wife’s interview or just let her go ahead and get her Visa now.  I’m thinking it might be foolish to delay hers but it might help to get NVC to hurry up.  Thoughts?

    Congrats!

Just go on do your interview and probably ask the interviewer officer about your kids while your there.

Mary Bernard, thank you for your quick response and input.Good to know we are on the same situation.I am helping my mom since she is the petitioner as GC holder. Are you GC holder or USC holder? How old is your F2A in this case? I heard the processing depends on status of the petitioner.

That is good news you were able to request expedite the case and was approved right away. What is the next step you will get if you are approved for expedite? Are you all set now for interview? We have same priority  date of year. Our priority date is Jan 2019 and been DQ after that year too,so yeah same 2 years no processing since covid up to now. We have been waiting for so long and been contact with NVC all we get from email is to wait, but my brother will be 21 yrs old next year, we filed petition when he was 16yrs old before covid- he will be age out soon next year.

So basically this case is my husband's parents

They are petition their daughter, my husband sister who aged out right after we sent the i-130 on may 2019, she turned 21 Aug 2019

So thankfully. And then we did all the processing. Then Dec 2022 case got documentarily qualified. Every 2 months was just an email from nvc to not sell house or anything.

Here is the number you can call and ask if you can schedule for interview

    Hello Mary Bernard,

What are the requirements to expedite F2A case? We are waiting on interview for my minor brother until now no interview date.

I emailed NVC to expedite case. I just poured my heart out because the priority date was May 2019, documentarily qualified Dec 2020.

    So 2 years no movement

Here is the email for expedite

    NVCExpedite@state.gov

Our case has the same issue we have been waiting since January 25 since the case shows ready. I have contacted the USEM 2 times they keep telling us we have to wait for an email from them and they don't know how long it will be but the also stated that we cannot schedule our interview until we get the email. Our case was expedited also without our knowledge of it.

If your case has been expedited and says ready you should be able to schedule an interview

    That's what I did.

    Case got approved expedited

    Case status ready

Wasn't able to self schedule due to Case not found on ustraveldocs

    Called and got Case escalated

    Was able to schedule feb6

    Got an interview March 6

2 weeks should be more than enough time.

The Beneficiary in philippines forgot her passport to her medical, so they told her to go back Monday without an appt, just walk in they will accommodate her asap, but her interview is on March 6. Will that be enough time for her medical papers to be sent to embassy

I have the same situation. We contacted customer service. They escalated the case. How long does this process take? Thanks in advance.

    I was told 1- 3 days.

    Case escalated Feb 2

I was able to schedule ustraveldocs on Feb 6

Thanks so much for this info! We just called and they agreed to escalate it, but said it was up to the discretion of the embassy. Not so hopeful but at least something is happening. Hope we get the same results as you.

They sent us an email receipt. Did you get an email after the escalation was "approved"? Or you were just suddenly able to book on CGI?

No email after escalate was approved

I was just able to schedule an appointment suddenly so it was shocking. I was really happy. No movement for 2 years. Now this

Oh wow, congrats! I've called 4 times and got the same standard response of "wait for the interview letter then we can escalate." They'd stop me before I even get to making the request. Are any of these the number that you called? (+632) 8548-8223 or (+632) 7792-8988

How long did it take for them to resolve the issue after your call at Feb 6?

We are from Hawaii, so I called the one in united states. I tried calling the one in philippines but I was on the phone too long that my 20 mins calling card ended before they can even help me.

So I called them on Feb 2 and they said it will usually takes 1-3 days for them to resolve it after they escalated the case. Mind you, I've been checking ustraveldocs to see if the case would still say not found, and to my surprise it says not found but around the next week Feb 6, I was able to make a schedule

Hi @Mary Bernard when did you get your interview letter? And was the 'case not found' issue resolved right after you got the notice? I'm still waiting for my interview letter 😔 Case status ready since Feb 1

    Hello

I didn't receive an interview letter, I was able to set up an appointment via ustraveldocs.

The case wasn't able to found as it was ready on Feb 1st. So I contacted customer service, and they escalated the case and around Feb 6 I was able to make an appointment for March 6.

Give them a call and ask because as far as I know once it's ready you can self schedule.

I asked USEM to Expedite my 2 stepchildren, as Chancy suggested, so that my wife could go ahead and interview at the Embassy as they wrote to her on Feb 1, saying she was good to go to schedule her interview.  Unfortunately she wasn’t able to schedule an interview bc the Help Desk at the Embassy said the children needed their own Email addresses.  Anyway, today the Embassy Emailed a response that I needed to contact the NVC because the children’s paperwork was still at NVC.  I thought the Embassy told NVC when they were ready for a certain number ofInterviews.  Should I wait to see what happens with the Embassy after they process the new Email addresses or contact the NVC again?

Request an expedite asap with NVC
