We are on our way! Fiancée is on his way to Santiago now for the interview tomorrow! We are so excited and hoping that everything turns out smoothly!

Hi , My finance just got one. In envelope is just paper work that sponsor send to process your K1 , Is  possible that your finance fallow lot of documents and it did not fit in one envelope .

My fiancee had the interview with the US Consulate in Sydney yesterday and was approved on the spot!  After almost a full year apart we will be reuinted again before the end of July.

i was terrified while waited since his phone died I had no way to reach him but luckily some others had families on the immigration visa line and they let me know that the line was quite long.

 

With that said, I just wanted to send a giant thank you to everyone that answered any questions, you provided me with so much support during this trying time.

The highlight of it all was the fact that the CO officer never asked to look at any evidence i had carried. She simply interviewed me and approved the visa. I call this an highlight because I had been told that since am from Uganda, an African country and therefore high fraud, and since I had met my fiance only once after we started dating, the first time of meeting being in 2012 when we simply became friends, that somehow she had to be there at the embassy! But I made it thru so easily. Thank u everyone esp the guy who started the original thread ( I have forgotten his name since he disappeared), thank u Ash for starting part two, thank u Geo for keeping us sane when there were no approvals coming thru, and thank u everyone who has contributed on this forum. 215 days it took for approval, 220 days waiting for a response without knowing we were approved (USCIS app didnt change to "case was approved") but we are FINALLY APPROVED!!! There is hope for my fiancee coming back with me or at least close to the date that I have to leave! <3

Our embassy was in Taiwan , but all embassy websites are similar , as we wore scheduling    appointment you will come to point that you can not preside farther before paying for it , we choose to pay in post office , there was a page that we print out and use it to make a payment , than use confirmation number to go further, there was also choice to pay by internet, think money transfer or similar. Try to find Canada forum on this site , you may get more specific info.

is possible that link is broken if you can not use it .I just want on their site and you only need to follow website to when you reach appointment scheduling page . Fill DS 160 online first, than go to your embassy website ,look for K1 finance visa .

Ds 160 is done online ,print it and take it when going for embassy appointment,print conformation to . Not sure about packets ,maybe some one else will help you ,Think packet 3 is notification from embassy,but you dont need to send it anywhere .  But way it goes is: your approved application is send to NVC ,than Nvc takes about 2 weeks to forward it to embassy ,embassy will receive it and notify sponsor about 2 weeks after receiving it with information what to do next ,That will, be sent by email to sponsor so just forward it to your finance  .At this point Do medical and gather all your ncesery documents beneficiary feels out ds 160 pay for appointment, schedule it . packet four may be a envelope that will be received with passport with visa in it ,that beneficiary will give at entry to USA. They will kip it.(inside are just application papers that wore feel out at time of filling for finance visa ,they will stamp it and kip it) . If printer is not available save forms to usb and print it somewhere will need paper copy to show at entry  at embassy . Dont stand in line with other people just show your appointment page to guard and he will let beneficiary in . Is few months since we did this but that is general process. After successful appointment in embassy beneficiary should receive passport /visa in about 5 days . At this point shop around for ticket .   Someone may correct me if they have more detailed info.

Seams like hes all good , just pay attention on connecting flight ,some times there is a change of departure gate . Good luck .

Are you sure they receive your rfe reply ? Think you should call and try to find out about it .

So Sorry, I didn't get you. And this point I have the NVC case no. and the status says READY. Can I book my medical exam?

Log in to your embassy web page and find out if they have your petition .( seams like they did) NVC number or your case number you will need to find that out .Nvc sends paper work to embassy and  if  status says ready, means that they receive it, than you are ok to fill DS 160 .You will also find instructions on embassy site, to follow, with out waiting for them to notify you, you will find all that you will need for interview including locations of medical examiner. In our case I receive instructions from embassy 3 weeks after they got my papers and it was saying ready for all that time .            ( looks like wherever secretary gets to it, they will notify you , so if you want to speed it out you can )  

 

Hello, I am from India. My status on ceac also says READY but I haven't received any mail or e-mail regarding it. For medical appointment they ask for either DS-160 confirmation page or interview letter for NVC. Please suggest what to do next? Thanks

HI , if you know that your petition reached embassy , fill out DS 160 save it to your computer ,print it out .  Email confirmation from embassy was send to me ( sponsor) after three weeks from time they receive it. Or you can just wait for it , but it may be send to sponsor so he will have to forward it to you . Those are just instructions from embassy what to do next , it is same as everyone else. (people sometimes try to jump on head of things thinking  time may be saved You will be fine by following proper steps and all will fall to place in right time ).(You meant interview letter for embassy ?? )

 

@Art786 our embassy in Zimbabwe has been in close contact with me through email throughout this the months of April and May and I was told $265 in USD on the day of the interview.  So maybe we just schedule it through DS-160 and pay when he gets there.  Do you think that sounds right? Is the DS-160 free to submit?  We also only had 2 doctors to choose from in the whole country and we were lucky to get him in without a problem.  

Hi , try it if it works that's great, specially that they instruct you that can be done , Ds 160 is just a form ,is free, can not do any scheduling trough it . Not all hospitals do visa checkups , two, sounds about right , Some country's in a world visa fee may be a lot of money,be careful when handling cash those places. We schedule all trough internet ,without contacting anyone in person .

it wouldn't be the first time they likely did multi-week training and very little progress was made on I-129Fs. Early January comes to mind (before your time here, I know, but I wanted to relay that). It also could just be that their online system isn't being updated. That also happened once for several days, IIRC. When they did update it, they back-filled the previous dates.

 

They likely aren't blocking the script. I guess they could be doing a misdirection defense (detecting it as a bad actor and replying with false data), but that's pretty sophisticated and seems excessive. And they would have to be doing it consistently since I also check for differences from day to day. The script is using the same mechanism to lookup the statuses that you and the mobile apps use. Those would also be broken if that was the case.

Something like that. Im sure you know more about it than any one else here. .Some times just it is what it is !

 

@Art786 thank you Yes, he leaves for Zimbabwe from South Africa on Sunday and arrives Monday.  Police Clearance is scheduled for Tuesday, medical on Wednesday, and we have had our file ready forever (April 8th).  He does his photos tomorrow so that he can finish up DS-160 and submit it.  Did you only get information via email?  I've only ever received USCIS through regular mail.  Should he be expecting mail in Zim? Is there anything else I'm missing? Will they schedule the interview once he hits submit on the DS-160 or do i call and schedule it? What is packet 3? 4? etc.  Sorry lots of questions  

Beneficiary will have to schedule appointment after paying for visa interview. Usually they will show available dates that  can choose from , that is done online. Packet 3, think is a notification from embassy with instructions . And 4, maybe a envelope from embassy that he submits on US entry , not too sure about that , but don't worry about it now. If all DS 160 is fill out can be submitted , check it well ,both of you can look it over and attach a passport stile photo, you may need some confirmation no. from it when paying for visa appointment. Someone may correct me , but that's about how it works.
