My question is.  When we went to the citizenship ceremony, there was a booth from SS.  So, most all of us signed and filled up a form for SS and after that, is it all done?  Are we going to receive a new SS card?  I have changed my name though.

    Thank you,

I don’t know about this situation. I will go to SSO again to verify this information with them in order to get my new SS card (your name changed and you need the new SS card).

    Restrictions:

-After 10 days of the ceremony.

    -Bring original documents.

Does anybody have any idea on how long from the time I put my N-400 in to Dallas TX until I get an interview?  We are planning a trip back to Australia for 2 weeks and I don't want to submit it if it will close to the trip.

When will you leave the state?

    After you submitted the N400:

-Online: Biometric usually scheduled the next few days for the next two weeks appointment.

-Paper: Biometric will be scheduled as soon as they received your application (around few weeks - a month) for next two weeks appoinment.

Holidays are coming (Thanksgiving and Christmas) so it will take longer for USCIS to process your case.

You can leave the state as soon as you was fingerprinted.

Interview scheduling will approximately 6-8 months after your Biometric appoinment.

I don't agree on the multiple divorces.    With USCIS is to prove a true relationship.

Things  happen in marriages, abuse, or maybe the party abandons the spouse, and many other things leading to divorce.

There is something else there, maybe something of the answers your husband gave at the interview and which was reviewed after the original approval, or something was found afterwards on your husband.

A client of an attorney I know is on his 5th K1 petition, and just got approved by USCIS at the interview.  All his marriages ended in divorce.

The letter from USCIS will tell the details .

Well. Everyone’s situation is different. He has the 5th marriage on the K1 does not mean his previous marriages were also on the immigration petition.

I also believe that if you have too many divorces, with or without obtaining a green card, is a red flag.

As I said, marriage is complicated. No one will know what will happen with the relationship on the next day. However, you gotta pay for what you owe in the past.

  4. The OP is confused about why the 101 days is added. It is supposed to be added because the IO will ask you after you file, do you leave the US ?

I still can’t believe why people can leave the state while N400 is pending.

Spending 1.5 years out of 3 years in the state is hard, then why obtain citizenship? I guess it is more convenient to live outside the state after becoming USC...

Hi,holt, did your friend get the oath ceremony letter or any update online?i am so frustrated.canyou let me know if your friend gets the letter?thankyou so much!

Don’t be panicked. Worry will not make your case faster, but it will affect negatively to your mood and performance in daily life.

Did you write a letter to the IO ? If yes, give them a week or so. I haven’t written any letter to her IO because she hasn’t given me the Interview result.

Thanks a lot for your answer!

After reading what you suggested, I tend to think that I may need the help of an immigration lawyer as there is quite a gray area around the interruptive causes and requisites for applying.

For instance the "4 years and 1 day rule" and the 30 months of continuous residency in a 5 years period that supposedly are enough for applying.

This is correct. It counts after the day you came back to the state. All the time you have spent in the state will not be counted.

You came back the state on March 2014, you will be qualified on April 2018.

  7. (1) Your photo still have the case number. I have reported to VJ Moderation in order to protect your information.

    (2) You can check other Filer Report to see what is the current processing time for MA permanent residents. There is nothing much you can do for now but to wait.

Calling + Making requests won't help at this time. Normal case is expected to complete as short as 4 months or as long as 10 months. There is no guarantee.

Bottom line, good luck to you!
