Awww, I can relate to this IIaz, u are not alone, I have been there before where each day seemed harder. Right now we are waiting for our interview date next month and all the pain we felt during the uncertain days is no more. We cant forget how terrible the waiting was, but we dont feel the pain anymore. Everything shall come to pass and u will be celebrating at the end of this process. You are closer today than when u first began. I am praying for u

HI . we never got any packet 4 ,if embassy says that case is ready ,you are all set , go to interview, assuming that you have all necessary paper work  done and all what they ask you for, like police report, medical .( Possibly packet 4 is a sealed envelope that you will receive with your visa approved passport  .) Any way last think we receive was packet 3 that was from embassy with instructions , now visa in hand with sealed envelope to present  when entering US. Not sure if that helps .

Packet 4 in India is basically a copy of I129f and G325 which was filled and sent initially, it has the Approved stamp on it. It also contains a checklist of documents. You will need nothing from Packet 4.

However, it is always better to contact Embassy/ Consulate and have them send you an email.

That's for immigrant visas. K-1 is a non-immigrant visa (despite NVC treating like an IV). K-1 doesn't need an agent and doesn't use the DS-260.

It's not really it being overly general instructions so much as that it applies to a different class of visas.

Hello K1 Family. I just wanted to share my interview experience yesterday at the Manila Embassy.
I was there around 8:20 and before you enter, they will ask you for your DS-160 so they can put the barcode sticker in it. They would also ask what time is your interview appointment.
You don't have to worry since there are a lot of people there who would tell you what to do, where to go and what is next. Upon entry, they will let you sit to wait for your turn on the Pre-interview.
On the pre-interview, i was asked for all my documents. Don't worry, they will give back what they don't need and they would ask if something is missing. The lady also asked for pictures and since i had a thick album, she just had me open it and show to her so she can note it on the system.
After the pre-interview, you will need to fall in line for the finger printing window (window 46 if I am not mistaken). Please make sure that your hands are dry and to read the instructions while waiting so you won't have a hard time. You will need to show your DS-160 then your name and then finger print scanning.
Once you are done, you will need to sit with the others for your interview, there will be people assisting you so do not worry. During my interview (Window 60), it was so smooth. I was asked for my DS-160 then my name then he went to get my documents and then made me do the oath which you will just say YES. He asked me 5 questions:
    1. Where did you and Matthew meet
    2. How many times did he come here
    3. What does he do?
    4. Where is he living?
    5. Have you ever travelled outside the Philippines?
Then the consul looked at me and smiled and said "So i see here that the relationship is genuine and that we will approve your visa" and I smiled and said thank you and I even told him that i have a lot of evidence in my bag and he said that he can see that since my bag is big but it is no longer necessary. Then i was told to wait for my visa within 5-10 business days and was given the pamphlet. 😁😁😁😁
I went outside and it was around 9:35 am.
Thank you all for the support and prayers.
I am and will continue to pray for the other who are still undergoing the process. We will all pass!! ❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊
    P.S
Just be honest, relax and don't forget to pray. 😉😉

Guys im slightly confused. The travel.state.give site talks about 6 steps after the case is at NVC.
    6 steps at NVC
This says the first step as 'Choose an agent' . Whats that???
    Also, Whats the DS-260 form?
Sorry but its getting too much to process. Those of you who've reached the interview stage already and passed that, please help and guide..
    Thanks so much

Thats surely not the reason. We got approved in 94 days
all that matters is he/she is a citizen. IT only might depend on the complexity of your case, and also some luck

And now the good news: (at least for me and my fiance)

    WE GOT APPROVED!!! :)))))))))))))))))))))))

I can not describe, how happy I am. But right before I had a long talk with my fiance, because he was overthinking and couldn't sleep til 4 am.
And a few mins after hanging up, I checked my mails and realized, that we got the notice while we talked. Now I cannot wake him up, because he's already short at sleep.
BUT I'M SO HAPPY AND NEED TO SHARE THAT FEELING!

So for all the lovely couples still waiting: PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP! YOUR TIME WILL COME SOON AS WELL!!!

Hi guys it only asks you to state Intended date of travel not return. And you should just put a random date say a month of two months from when you fill out your DS 160.
This is the link I followed to complete mine and its quite detailed.

We logged into whatsapp web(bigger screen so you can fit more of the conversation) and took screenshots from there with the dates showing of a conversation a month, over a year period. So in total 12 conversations. Just crop out your contacts on the left side using photoshop, paint or any image editing software you may have used before.

Then put those into a word document labelled with the dates and print. I think a conversation a month should be enough

    Hey All !
I am past that wait for NOA2 stage and getting prepped for next stages. Calling NVC each day now and making sure affidavit of support, and other documents are in order.
I want to say out loud what i've realised - waiting for NOA2 was easier than the next stressful things in line  so enjoy this 'you own' time and use it to get the paperwork in order.
Few things to keep in mind and get organised -
Make sure your vaccines are done as per the rules ( tetanus, MMR, Hep B C etc) . These are not mandatory, but as all say, its easier and cheaper to get them done in home country than in USA.

After NOA2 the real work begins -
    DS160
    Police certificate
Affidavit of support ( Tell petitioner to keep the W2 and Tax transcripts ready. Salary stubs can be printed in the month of interview)
    Vaccinations

Now the most important part - WHAT is the plan one YOU ARE IN USA?
We've been preparing for this since ages, but have you thougt things through? (Not the marital bliss part, im talking about other admin and documentary tasks)

I'm listing a few things here for your help so you can talk to your fiance about pros and cons of each and make decisions before you move and can plan your dates accordingly:-
How soon to get married after arrival?
    Getting marriage licence and certificate
Getting a house together if planned (and if you want your name also on the lease as its good for the AoS docs)
Getting SSN - You have to decide if you want it with your K1 or after AoS. Its useful for opening joint accounts which are useful for AoS.
Applying for EAD and Advance Parole - Keep in mind if you have to travel abroad within 6 months of entering USA, then your AP needs to be applied for because till then green card may or may not come.
Also, if you plan on doing a job asap or can wait. In that case you might need to apply EAD separately if date of wedding is later. Thats additional cost.
There's no fee for AP and EAD if you apply along with I-485.
    Costs -
    EAD - $410
    AP - $575
    AoS - $1225

So as you see, there's much to think about and plan for
I just noted them down here as I am in the middle of all this thinking through and am very sure i'll post my own questions very soon

All the best guys!!!! Wishing all a speedy NOA2
