Sorry guys.... I looked up the DS-160 on the uscis website and i just dont quite understand. Should i be filling this out now and submitting it or do i need to wait until NVC... or the Nigerian consulate to receive my application. All this stuff is so confusing to me... i read the frequently asked questions and im still confused.

Also it asks for origin ...im african american...and nigerian.... born in america... but i dont see the united states as a choice so i put nigeria.... am i supposed to fill out my info or his because then next question asks... have i lived in any country besides my origin..... which was nigeria... i cant put yes because there is no united states...im so confused

You don't have to file anything to NVC.. just keep calling them to get your new case # (they will give you another case # so you can schedule you medical appointment).

This case number is listed in geowrian's scan (tonight) as still in 'received' status, untouched since its 11/1/16 noa1. So this suggests that they are sending notifications before the status is updated in the database? I'd guess it would catch up tomorrow; it makes sense after all - my NOA1 text/email notifications were received the day before the paper copy's "official" date.

The case I've found might have been approved after he ran the report... although the cases are typically approved during the day - they're probably pushing approval statuses on the website closer to the midnight (EST). (silly USCIS website dev)

Please someone give me the number!

    (603) 334-0888 (for non-immigrant visa inquiries only)  or (603) 334-0700 (for immigrant visa inquiries only)

Customer Service Representatives can speak with you Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight EST, excluding holidays.

    K-1 is non-immigrant visa so keep trying: (603) 334-0888

Actually mb. I didn't notice your spoiler tag with the details of your range. I had signatures disabled and just turned them back on and overlooked it thinking it was your signature. Whoops~

yep.. I run them every day too, but just for the Nov 14th date. I had a thought of doing what you're doing, but then decided not to.. without VPN my IP would've been blocked in a few days if I were to run 5000 searches per day.

60 approvals for today is actually a great news.. congrats to those couples

I called the USCIS a few hours ago asking what is up with my case. I told them how other cases are getting approvals that were submitted late October through early November. And mine should have already been approved or at least gotten an RFE. He told me I was wrong because the California office is exactly 5 months behind and they are working on cases now from late August. I explained to him about how I can track all the cases online and I'm part of a group forum that all does the same thing. He still said I was wrong and the USCIS hasn't checked any cases submitted past August yet. Then he hung up on me.

This is extremely frustrating seeing my case has been completely passed over and there is absolutely nothing I can do. I pay $20k-$25k dollars in taxes every year just to have someone working for the government completely lie to me about my case.

And yes, I know, there is always a few other people that are waiting longer than me and I need to be patient.

Exactly the response I've got the other day... my guess is that USCIS hired 3rd party customer support service which can check your case status from the official website or take information from you to change DOB/address for your case. That's it. The customer rep. that answered me didn't even knew that most Sep/Oct case are already approved. I think the only time I stoke to a true USCIS officer is when I requested expedited processing with a valid reason, but even that didn't worked out..

    Spoiler

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately)  USCIS is not funded by taxpayers, but through fees that we pay for the petitions. So there are truly are no leverage on them at this point.. to cover their butts they are using that 5 month processing time schedule just to turn us down via that 3rd party customer support.. To them all Noa 1 petitions dated between past August and now are "within normal processing times".

Normal processing falls within a range.  It's not a specific number.  No one is lying to you.

Some cases are faster than others depends on many factors.  It's not a single line where it's first in, first out.

Nope.. it's not just me. You say some cases get processed faster than others.. I was talking about the whole month worth of cases.

Who cares about the processing times listed on the official website?!.. they're always wrong. For instance.. currently it says that they are working on August cases.. well that ain't right, since more than 97% of Sep and over 85% of October K1 petitions were already approved. Even if those dates are for oddly tough cases then those processing times are still wrong - just a few days ago an odd K1 case from May'16 was approved.

I said that they lied only because when I called them just a few days ago they told me that there are no delays and that everything is being processed at the normal pace. (Well it's NOT). Let's see.. By the end of November over 90% of September K1 cases were approved. (about 40 days from Noa1 till Noa2 for them).

If USCIS were up to its normal speeds - over 90% of Nov cases should've been approved by this time. Not the case... less than 5% of Nov cases approved as of today and less than 1% of Dec cases. I'm already at 80 day mark from my Noa1 date.

Some people from Vj forum figured it out when there was a complete standoff on approving fiance petitions: Dec 9 - Dec 26. And of course those people on the phones there at USCIS wouldn't have a clue anything about it. To me it's seems like USCIS hired 3rd party customer support service which can check your case status from the official website or take information from you to change DOB/address for your case. That's it. Ironically, last time I called them they told me their system were down, so there weren't even able to check my case. So my guess is you can find more information online - than from their customer support (they don't even know that most Sep/Oct case are already approved)

My fiance is in prison and we want to get married as soon as possible.

My advise would be not to start the process until he's proven not guilty or gets released from the jail. (until then it's 99.99% chance of getting denial) You can still try.. but I guess Texas state governor would have to issue you some kind of a waiver for such case to stand a chance.

Anyways.. how did you even met him?

    Hi Amye,

I am guessing the first answer you got was a little tongue in cheek - as when you start to read some of those 110 pages you'll notice that this is what everyonne here is talking about - and consequently why there are 110 pages.  I don't think that reply was meant to be rude - just that it probably made a few peoople chuckle as those of us who have been here a while know that there are about 100 pages answering your question.

The short answer is that the VJ timeline is wrong and that CSC hasn't cleared October yet.  There are lots of sources of information on here - and if you are dropping by to read the thread every day (as you will want to) you'll be kept up to date with what is happening and how close csc is getting to your case x

    Chelley

I didn't meant to be rude at all. The very first post for JimJesDuma has signature that clearly shows that there are people in October that still are waiting for NOA1. And I know, I probably had to word my sentence a bit more polite.. that ignorance just drives me crazy.

I wouldn't be surprised anymore to have someone asked the same question when this thread get 200+ pages.

    Hi,

I'm very new here.  The VJ CSC processing date today is Dec 1, 2016 and my date of receipt was Nov 28, 2016 but I have not received a status change; it still says "My Case was Received".  Anyone have any insights on this?

    Thank you!

I'm 100% confident you haven't read anything in this thread before you asked your question

  10. I'm having the same issues... the photographer and the catering place we chose for the wedding are already increasing their fees and they are both saying that security deposits are non-refundable. We going to have pay double the amount of $$ if we end up moving our wedding date.

What's even worse.. is that if you call USCIS - they begin lying that everything is going at it's normal pace.... bunch of baloney.. some people that filled petition at the end of September already had their wedding a month ago... ex) http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?cfl=0&id=246309

Now we filed a month later (a little more).. and we already 3 month behind!!! In USCIS minds it's a normal thing.. Some people get premium processing times, while other stuck for months

Useless?? Not useless to the Windows 10, Windows Phone, and XBox uses...

The app will be available for free soon. Even if that wasn't the case, he's free to profit from his hard work. As a developer myself, I'd feel awful if somebody told me that I shouldn't make money from my work.

who the heck tracks cases via Xbox..

So, at this point this app is limits you to search only up to 100 cases is not smart just for the sake of battery(who cares?).. maybe it's just iPhones, but USCIS doesn't drains my battery that much even after I do 2000 searches per day. Plus if every time you open the app and it automatically checks 100 cases before/after your case #  than in 2 days you'll get 3 day IP ban (assuming you're checking cases from the same network)

You missed the point I was trying to make. At this point this app wouldn't be profitable. Of course you can charge $100 for this app and think your work is worth it, but no one will buy it.. and yes it's up to him what to charge people, i know.  I'm a developer too... To save his time (IMHO) - he should work on the features that other apps don't offer and charge for them. For example: built-in VPN for infinite # of searches on USCIS cases. This is something that would be a looot more scalable business model. + to profit even more have some adds running in the background

At this point it's similar is just like the webpage in my signature.. yes it's convenient for Nov.14 Noa1 fillers, but this would be silly for me to charge to access it (and it was never meant to be for profit).

Finally.. Having this app on windows you do want it to have a lot more features than the phone app.. right? Like generating 1000 case status reports at once.
