$8K on $5 million bucks isn't a lot...
That's an $8,000 refund, not total taxes paid.

Congrats on the successful interview!!!
Enjoy your Oath Ceremony!!!

Totally agree.... people have to be more aware that this is a serious process with serious consequences when it doesn't work out.
-
Just dress appropriately, dress pants are fine, so are jeans as long as they aren't falling off or full of holes, etc.
Good luck at the interview!!!

I'm very glad that I have my U.S. citizenship, just for the reasons you both describe. We may chose to move back to the U.S. at some point after we have lived in Canada for a while, so we won't have any problems doing so.
-
Congrats to you both... maybe you have a long and happy life together.

Hi Peggy:
My husband and I would like to do the same, so I will be very interested in any responses you get.
We are not planning on moving back to Canada any time soon, but in retirement in about 7 years. I have tried doing some research on the Canadian immigration website, but don't seem to be able to find much information about when the Canadian citizen (me) lives with my U.S. citizen husband in the U.S. Most of the information seems to be for Canadian citizens who are living in Canada and want to bring their spouse to Canada to live with them.
In our case, we would like for us to both move to Canada together.

My husband does not have his own account, nor does he use mine. He was very involved in the process at the beginning, and helped with the paperwork and research, etc., but since I have become a U.S. citizen, he thinks that I am just obsessing by still coming on VJ anymore.
I still have my K-2 daughter's N-400 application coming up this November, so I'm still interested in immigration matters. Once she becomes a U.S. citizen, I'll probably only drop in occasionally.
I find I don't come on VJ anywhere near as much as I used to in the last year or so.

People are just very afraid to get involved when they see something like this. Thankfully, 3 of you were not too afraid to help out this poor woman.
I used to work in Domestic Violence, and these kinds of stories were a daily occurence. I felt very discouraged that there was very little we could do to protect these women and their children. They are often too afraid to leave their abusers and are also very afraid of being alone, so even living with domestic violence seems better to them than being alone.
I always hope that a happy ending can come of these situations, but sadly, most often, there is no happy ending.

Welcome to VJ!! Glad you decided to join us here.... we're a great bunch of helpful people.
Look forward to hearing how your journey is progressing. Good luck!!!

Hope you can sort this all out... it's one of my worst nightmares!!!
Good luck.

Congrats and best wishes to you both.... even if it might take a while to thaw out!!!

You can use AP to visit family and friends... it doesn't have to be an emergency.
Enjoy your trip!!!!

Skin tags are not contagious or a risk to anyone else. She won't have any problems and I wouldn't even mention it at her medical.
Skin tags are easily removed if she so wishes.
Good luck.

Good luck with your move as well as the last details in Canada!!!

You do not need to be employed to apply for Naturalization.
-
Congrats and good luck with the rest of the process!!!
-
Congrats!!!
That is great news!!!

That's how they find out if she does have a record or not.
Otherwise, everyone would just say they don't have a record even if they did.

Hope you can move on and start over. You will find happiness again when the time is right.
Best wishes.
Social Security # Name Change Questions

Yes, you can use your last name on your wife's AOS documents. You will be providing a marriage certificate that will show why her name has changed.
I believe that you keep your social security number for life, so I think all you have to do is go to the SSA office with your marriage certificate and Green Card to update her status.
