Really?? how is that even possible? what visa was it? Was it on a Tourist Visa? I can only imagine that coming in a few weeks!!

A Japanese person just needs to register in ESTA and they can travel to the US for 90 days on the Visa-waiver program.  They said green card, and it wasn't the green card lottery so I can only assume it was the IR-1/CR-1 and I confirmed that it was recent because I know already a few years ago it did only take but a few short months to complete all this with the Embassy.

I agree with you it isn't fair also how they say "up to 8 weeks" when this is our 16th week waiting already and no answers!! We have to stay positive and have hope during this long and frustrating process because once it is over we don't have to do this again ??

I guess whats not fair is that people are still getting through this process in just a few weeks.    Met some of my Japanese friends this weekend and one of them was saying that 3 of her friends got married in Japan and got their Visa to come to the US after just a few weeks.

Hearing that makes me angry and dumbfounded and curious about where the loophole in the process is.  If I applied from Japan - would I have gotten everything done faster?   All these thoughts running through my head because no-one can give me the 500 days that we lost back to us.

To be honest I don't know why they denied him even asked him why I came so much to Ghana. I went three times after we got married what kind of question is that. And yes I believe they denied him on the social media questions because he had pictures of children which I feel like they think those are his children and he has no kids and even if they were his kids why would he lie to them about having his children it's just so stupidTo be honest I don't know why they denied him even asked him why I came so much to Ghana. IS this a new thing?   I don't post any pictures of my children or my wife on social media  - but- that doesn't make her any less my wife or them any less my children....

Can any CR-1/IR-1 cases post a picture of their P4 letter with their personal information blocked out? I still haven't received mine and our interview is coming up in a few weeks. I can go to my consulate before the interview and print it (which I definitely will do!) but my lawyer and I would like to look over a sample letter so we can make sure we have everything prepared before I head to my husband's country. If anyone can help, it would be so very much appreciated!!

    Hi -

The full list of requirements is on the NVC website : https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/interview/prepare.html

Step 1 lists the requirements for the medical exam

Step 2 has a country-by-country drop down that will then give the specific requirements for Mexico -> I found this page matches the generic contents of the P4 letter

Ya someone else told me essentially that just yesterday which is why I repeated my question to this supervisor. They clearly have people giving out dates for when it was "moved". Her argument was "maybe they misunderstood your question, or you misunderstand them"...basically trying to push the blame on something else.

My "Supervisor review" date was 1/10 and then yesterday I was told it was moved to the "review department" on the 12th. This woman denies having the ability to see that date, and she is a supervisor for the telephone department. So I don't really know how/why the person yesterday gave me that day.

It could be that the "script" says not to tell people the internal dates but the phone staff feel for us so are breaking from script.  I don't see why they arent transparent other than potentially opening themselves up to lawsuits later

    Hello everyone!

So my scan date is 12/23 and this week we have just entered 7 weeks at NVC so we should be up for supervisor review. No 3 N/A's or cc for us still. I have two questions (I am the beneficiary, husband is USC):

    (1) I would like to ask the regular VJers here if they could possibly provide a fearless forecast as to when I might possibly have an interview scheduled if I get a March case complete. I am not entirely sure how but there seems to be a matrix you guys sometimes talk about to predict interview schedules based on date of cc (end of the month? beginning of the month?). If I get the cc in March is it possible to have an April interview at all, or will it be realistically in May? I will be having the interview at the Tokyo Embassy.

    (2) Another thing I want to ask is: how receptive is the NVC when it comes to expedite appeals, and how much time does that shed off the regular waiting time? I am officially quitting my teaching job in March (end of the schoolyear here in Japan) and will not be renewing for another schoolyear for obvious reasons. However, once I quit my job in March I will only have until end of May to stay here, after which my work visa will be revoked. Will that be a sufficient reason for them to speed up our process? I can go back to the Philippines after that but I'm wondering how easily they can re-route my documents from Tokyo to Manila (I have a Tokyo case number code, TKY).

Hope somebody can enlighten me on these. Thank you so much!!!

I wouldn't quit your job.  The timing of the Visa is really unpredictable at this point and having to leave the country or changing embassies might just slow things down.  Japanese public schools have a break in July right after Ocean Day of about 6 weeks.   That might also be a good time to leave.

So I guess if I get a case complete early next week we may have an interview at the end of March. That was a very fast interview assignment for you!

(Scan date 11/28 here, so I'm hoping soon...it's been in the "review department" for awhile now for whatever that is worth on a 1 page document)

Good luck!  We have the same scan date and i just got my 3 N/As yesterday.   Couldn't get through to NVC to confirm yesterday but Monday I"m on it

What does it mean when the rep says "On Jan 18 it notified the supervisor for review and on Wednesday the review department pulled out ur files to review" Btw for my mom n dad..☺️

Supervisor review seems to be a status to let someone know that the initial 6 weeks are up.I think document review means that someone may look at it soon.   Hopefully you'll have some good news soon
