Yes my case was put in sup review on 1/18. They say its in the review department at the beginning of this month I think.
It took me 5 weeks less 1 day to get CC after file was sent to review department. If I use my timeline, you should get your file reviewed (hopefully CC) no later than March 7 hopefully sooner.

Scan date: 12/6
In 12 weeks. Nothing yet.
My scan date was 12/2 and I got my CC 2/21 so I suppose your is anytime soon.
Did you request supervisor review and if so do you know if it's at the review department? I requested to be sent on Supervisor review on Jan 14th (called close to mid-night on 13th since 14th day after 6 weeks and was a Saturday). I called the following week and was informed my file was sent to the review department on 01/18. Per NVC, he review department does review on first come first serve.

@IA0217 My case has been in review since Feb/10; I only get the same answer from NVC over and over again that it may take up to 8 weeks from this review request date. They always tell me that it may not take that long, but they can not tell me when my case will be complete. Hang in there, we're close.
@Thesmiths2016 I spoke yesterday to a rep in regards to the 'check visa application status', I had told her that it used to say "At NVC" and now it says to submit documents. She said that it's saying this because we have gone beyond the normal review times, and that they have no control over this notification until the case is complete. She did confirm with me that they do in fact have our documents and that it's in the review department. I only hope this means we'll have case complete soon.

Congratulations on your CC's
Thank you

OMG I just saw 3 N/As I was very frustrated and did not think I will see 3 N/As. I am currently on the line waiting to confirm with NVC.
- My second scan date 12/01 - Due to missing to sign AOS
- supervisor review Jan 14th ( I called close to midnight as my 6 week mark was after Friday so hint for folks)
- Review Department - Jan 18 (Now as you all know this is the department that does the review, per NVC once your file gets here, it's first come first serve)
- Case Complete - Feb 21 (to confirm as I only saw 3 N/As which is generally indicative of C/C)
I wish the best for everyone else and having earlier folks gets CC means everyone else is getting closer. It took total of 11 weeks and 2 days very long time indeed.
I just confirmed with NVC that my case is complete
They said they are done with March interviews and I will be scheduled for April interviews depending on openings at Nairobi embassy. I have a relative who had to wait 3 months after CC to get an interview slot.
I am wondering if I quality for expedite as my wife is pregnant and I really want her to get medical check up in the US which has better medical system. Please advise. Thank you all.

Yes faith is what we need for sure and hopefully you get CC soon as well since we have the same date at the review department. I guess all this time the file remains untouched.

I don't believe NVC processes DACA cases at all, so I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with our slow down.
I don't believe either that NVC processes DACA cases it's processed solely by USCIS and folks don't have delays in processing by USCIS the bottleneck is NVC. My case was approved by USCIS in 2.5 months.

2. Write down your case number. It is a series of three letters and 10 numbers with no dashes or spaces. An example NVC case number looks like this: MNL2013524001.
3. Split the figures as follows: LLL NNNN NNN NNN, where "L" is a letter and "N" is a number.
4. Read the three letters from the left. This is the code for the U.S. consulate that has jurisdiction over the visa applicant's location. It is where you will get a visa interview. For example, "MNL" refers to the U.S. consulate in Manila.
5. Read the first four numbers following the letters. In this example it is "2013." This is the year that the NVC received the visa application.
6. Read the next three numbers. This is the day of the year in which the case was received. It is the figure minus 500. For example, "524" means NVC got the package on the 24th day of the year, January 24.
7. Read the last three numbers in the case number. It tells you the order it was assigned to the consulate that day. In this example, it is "001" so it was the first case created for the Manila consulate on Jan. 24, 2013.Hope this can guide you well,
Best of luck
This is very interesting info. I have 020 in last 3 does it mean my case was the 20th in that particular day? that will be many cases indeed but possible since NRB (Nairobi) consulate does process multiple countries and my wife is from neighboring country. I had it takes up to 3 months after CC to get an interview scheduled and I know of a relative that had her family getting their interview 3 months after CC and they are on Admin processing since October 2016 even though the requested document was already submitted. I understand other consulates may be less busier.
Still waiting for my CC as my second scan was Dec 12th due to an RFE received Nov 17th where I forgot to sign AOS. I will call NVC tonight as the phone is still busy. My first scan was Sept 27th so this is getting to be a long wait very frustrating.

Thanks.......By the way, I have found at least one post from late last year which said " Never had the N/A(s) - just paid. Our case is closed and at the consulate "
My cousin sponsored her parents and I was her agent. They were scheduled for interview and only had 2 N/As so I suppose the update to the system is not consistently applied. I agree for your situation it's best you call to confirm which is the case for folks with 3 N/As.

Ya I've kept telling them that reviewing our checklist would literally take 5 minutes since the only information they didn't have was my wife's parent's names and occupations on her birth certificate.
Yours is even worse though. Literally just a date. I'm so sorry
Yes it sucks but it is what it is wished NVC improved and became more efficient. They could have less files backlogged if the reviewer just looked at submission for simple corrections.

Gosh that is crazy you had to send in an entire new AOS just because a date was missing, and have to wait another 6+ weeks.
Our dates are pretty similar. I believe my first scan date ewas 9/28 (don't remember anymore) and we ended up with a checklist for a long from birth certificate (around 10 additional words on the long form compared to the short form for my wife). Second scan date of 11/28, supervisor review on 1/10.
Fingers crossed for both of us.
Yes it's nonsense what NVC issued and RFE for such a simple item. They could have our CC and then ask me to have the document ready during interview instead of delaying the whole process or maybe review the file immediately instead of waiting 6 weeks. I wish they categorized these RFEs as this is a 30 second review. Good luck to you as indeed our scan dates are very close.

Hello All
First Scan date: 09/27
Sup review: 11/08
Checklist: 11/17 - Forgot to date the AOS
Second Scan date: 12/02
2nd sup review: 01/14
I hope for CC by 01/25 finger crossed.

I totally agree! I'm literally gob-smacked! You're so lucky, AstroCanada, and I'm really happy for you, but I can't believe the NVC can treat us so unfairly. This wait is unbearable and is at times testing our marriages, as we've been discussing. My husband has flown out to see me 4 times in the last year, it's costing us so much money and putting strain on our progressing careers. I've missed out on so much whilst I've been away and I regularly have nightmares - and I'm sure I'm not the only one! Is this their idea of a joke? If they can review an application and give a case complete in a day, WHAT are they doing over these 6, 7, 8...painful weeks that the most of us have to endure?? I just can't get my head around it...
I agree with you totally. They have 600 contractors and although they log in over 17000 files a week, many are just going to be waiting for visas. I think they are not efficient and are not allocating resources correctly. It does not take a long time to review such files and it does not make sense to wait for 8 weeks to review the files.

I feel so absolutely incredibly lucky. My case is actually complete only 1 day after the scan date. We submitted the IV and AOS packages by e-mail Wednesday of last week, DS-260 on Sunday, the scan date was Monday and case complete was Tuesday. I just called to verify that the 3 N/A's were real. 1 day must be the speed record for scan date to case case complete without any expedite. Now to figure out where to go from here! Good luck everyone.
Congrats and you are very lucky indeed. Whoever is working on your file must be efficient relative to his/her peers. It's possible that work is divided by regions and not each team member is efficient as others.
I know many of us are frustrated with NVC but I guess it is what it is. Good luck to you all.
By the way I found this article by the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) highlighting their meeting with NVC with statitistics and explanation of reasons for backlogs. It's dated 2014 and I think it may still be relevant.

Is this possibly 3 N/A?
I have electronic processing, and I know it's fast, but I submitted AOS and IV docs Wednesday of last week and then we submitted the DS-260 on Sunday. The AOS fee has changed to N/A from Paid and I now have N/A's in AOS Fee, AOS Documents, and Civil Documents.
I guess I could call them to check? Just don't want to waste time calling if this is an impossible timeline.
That's pretty quick but I guess it's maybe due to electronic processing which is faster. I would call NVC just to confirm but this is positive update. Good luck and let us know what you hear.

You folks must be next for CC!
Congrats JFH and good luck with your interview

First scan date Sept 27th.
Second Scan December 2nd. I had an RFE due to missing to date AOS.
I called NVC on Friday and they told me the 6 weeks clock begins after the second scan date. I hope they review earlier than that since this is a simple review just checking the date. I was very careful filling out the AOS but missed the signature which really sucks. I hope the best for everyone. I know after CC I still have upto 3 months for the Interview as Nairobi consulate itself has their own backlog and do process Immigrant Visa for many neighboring countries.

Just called NVC to check after the 6 weeks passed from my scan date, operator told me he will send it the supervisor review but he told me they are falling behind on review and may take other 6 weeks , is that good thing that supervisor will review it ? Or its ganna take other 6 weeks as he said ?
After my 6 weeks were up I was put on supervisor review and it took 7 business days before I got a response with an RFE. I have seen in these forum where actions was taken in 2 business days to get a response. Of course we have some members who are still waiting after being put on Supervisor review. I believe it's good to be put on supervisor review if you hear nothing after 6 weeks. Good luck and hope you get a CC soon without any of the awful RFEs.

I also don't feel married. Haven't been able to see my husband since the beginning of May and my scan date is Nov 10th. This process and distance has left room for regret and emptiness. I do not feel like a wife and all we do is argue. My emotions are up and down with my husband and marriage. But its the price that we pay dealing with all of this I guess :/
I understand what you are going through and I'm also having to deal with this as well. I think this requires lots of patience and with no time you will be with your spouse. I had not seen my spouse since March and just visited for 2 weeks returning this past Saturday and has been really hard returning back to the US. It can be easier to meet half way depending on where your spouse leaves but I understand it can be costly to visit and all depends on your schedules at work or other commitments. NVC delay is not helping and is unnecessary. It could be nicer if they outsourced such work as we are all paying to get this done and it's not rocket science.

checking in. First Scan Date Sept 27. Received RFE Nov 17th due to missing date on AOS. I sent the document and was received by NVC today Dec 1st. I will call tomorrow to confirm the scan date. I just hope I get a quick CC as this is a simple review.

I was put on supervisor review on the 25th but how come I never received any email like what you guys have? Now I'm wondering if they really put ours in supervisor review. This is crazy. Does anyone have been put to supervisor's review but did not get any email correspondence? I'm not sure if that is normal. Thanks
When I was put on supervisor review I never received any email. Only time I received an email is when they I got and RFE.

I can't believe this is possible, I just got my wife interview date set to April 11. I had CC on March 21st and was told interview scheduling could take 3 months. In fact, I have a relative who had to wait 3 months for interview to be scheduled for Nairobi embassy. Good luck to everyone.
