  1. My hubbys interview is January 10!!! :)) im so excited I bought my ticket last week for the holidays to see him and I will get to be there when he goes to his interview !!

    Congrats this is great news:)

Does anyone know if NVC does review RFE sooner than 6 weeks? My first scan was Sept 27 and I received an RFE on 11/17 due to missing to date the AOS after signing. I have sent the AOS which will be received today and hopefully scanned. I think this should be easy quick check and case complete only wish they did address my file as soon as they scan it.

  2. It was a long wait for our case to be complete and receive an interview at the embassy in Accra. It's was yesterday. We were told that our interview was postponed. And to return with the date wrote by staff of two more months later. As they claimed the lack of consulate available. But some people were seen and some where not. It's really sad that someones life is put on hold and decided by other people's moods. I thought we lived in a free world. Free to love who we love, live where we want. We all need prayer to keep us strong through this long process that we all are going through.

Sorry about the additional delay. It seems some consulates are really understaffed compared to other countries. I have seen folks getting interview date within a month or less after CC. The consulate in Nairobi it takes about 3 months to get an interview date after CC so I would be very disappointed too it they did add 2 additional months.

  3. Does anyone know if you receive an RFE and send it to NVC can you request to be put in supervisor review? I don't want to wait another 6 weeks then put on supervisor reviewer.

My original scan date was Sept 27. I received an RFE on November 17. I sent the updated AOS on 11/28 and NVC will receive noon today 11/29.

What I have noticed is when it's on supervisor review then work is done instead of sitting on dust.

  4. I have my scan date Nov 7th, as everyone knows they say 6 weeks for review. However, I know they'll get me a REF for updated I-1864 and a Join Sponsor request. Should I wait for them to send me the REF? or should I send the updated 1-864 with the join sponsor now? I just talked to a lady in the NVC and she said if I send anything right now, it will take another 6 weeks for review. I'm not sure if I should wait another 3 week and once they request it I'll send it and it will take another 6 weeks plus the three weeks I'm waiting for their REF. Or just send them the updated forms and save myself three weeks. I'm afraid they don't associate it with my original package.

In my opinion, I don't think it's wise to send another 1-864 as it may confuse them. Additionally, you don't know if you may get additional RFEs besides an updated 1-864 and joint sponsor. I got an RFE because I forgot to date the document so you never know. It's best you wait and see what they need and then send it to them. I know it sucks to get these RFEs and wish you the best of luck.

  5. NEED HELP!!!!

My scan date is sep 27. They put it on supervisor review on Nov 7( aftr 6 weeks of scan date). I call them this friday too many times because I was so frustrated, one of the representatives put it second supervisor review on friday which is nov 23.. now i'm so pissed of and frustrated that it will slow my case.

CAN ANYONE FACE THE SAME SITUATION! DOES IT GOING TO SLOW OF PROCESS?

I had the same scan as you and was put in supervisor review same as you. I recieved an RFE on Nov 17th. I guess it's a mystery on how NVC does it's review. Good luck and I hope you get your CC soon.

  6. Hello all my scan date was Sept 27th. I got put on Supervisor review on November 8th.

I receive an RFE on November 17th. :crying:

I forgot to date the AOS. I will mail express the new AOS today which NVC to receive tomorrow by noon. After they scan the document, I will call them tomorrow night and request a supervisor review. I hope I get CC soon.

    Good luck to everyone.

  7. Wrong!!! The Constitution does NOT apply to non US citizens who are outside the country. However, I don't think any legitimate applicant should worry.

Trump has made claims that are not supported legally or by the constitution. My point was to indicate that US has laws and no one is above it. The US citizens right to petition for the spouses is not limited to only US citizens that are not Muslims as this would be unconstitutional as it would be a second class citizenship. US is a democracy and Trump will follow the laws. It's a fact that politicians make promises they can't keep to get votes but when Trump gets to the White House he will realize what he can do or not do.

Lastly Trump wife is an immigrant and I'm sure he would not be taking away the rights of US citizens to petition for their families.

  8. Hi everyone! New to this thread and wish good luck to everyone. Is anyone (particularly those with beneficiaries from Muslim countries) getting nervous about our new POTUS and his promise of banning Muslim immigration?

    Scared from Pakistan!

Don't worry Trump was saying all these to get elected. He cannot ban people based on religion as this is unconstitutional. The US needs Muslims countries as they are allies fighting war on Terror and last I checked Pakistan is an ally. The Pakistanis have made major contribution to the US economy including the Muslims who many are in academia, private sector and the Military. The politicians exploit the people and say anything to get elected.

  9. Hmmm...As I started to register somewhere it asked me if we were applying for non-immigrant or immigrant visa. When I selected immigrant it directed me to another site. It's cgifederal.secure.force.com when I enter it into a new webpage it goes to my login screen. The top says Apply for US Visa in Egypt, I tried to attach a screen shot. This site won't let me.

I will look at Nairobi page and see what I can see. I see at the bottom of the page a link for visas, it takes you to this site https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-KE/iv Did you register on this page?

Thanks for your help. I did register for the site and I have no option to check visa appointment dates besides registering for a Visa Appointment. I did select to register but this will not take me to the next page because after inputting my case number I received an error saying it is not ready. I suppose Egypt consulate may probably be different. Again thanks for your help I guess will just wait for CC and about 3 months afterwards for Embassy interview.

  10. Hi, the US Embassy in Cairo website pointed me to ustraveldocs.com - from this site I signed up for visa. I had to enter the information that we give when we call the visa center and then it brought me to a dashboard. It looks like all locations are on the site, but I am not sure if you each site gives the same information.

I can't register for an appointment yet because our case hasn't been sent to the embassy yet. So, now I have another site to check daily to expedite our case.

    Good Luck

Thanks for the information. I visited the website and somehow noticed the only option to view interview dates is for non-immigrant visas. If you don't mind can you share your steps? After visiting the website, I choose Africa and I get a list of embassies. I opened the Nairobi page and did not see option for interview selection for immigrant visa. I then visited the Cairo consulate same thing. I may be missing something as you were able to see interview dates. Appreciate your help again.

  11. The US Embassy in Egypt recommends getting your exam two weeks prior to interview. Right now their next interview date is November 13th. I have read it takes a week for the system to update our CC and send our information on to the embassy and schedule our interview. I was thinking if he gets his exam as soon as possible next week when everything updates I would notify the embassy that we were ready and could take a sooner date.

The USCIS has a listing of authorized doctors for each area.

I fear this process will slow down during the holidays and want to prod it along as much as possible!

    Thanks

You mentioned right now the next available interview for Egypt is November 13th. Is this interview for Immigrant visas? Also can you share where you found this information and I can attempt to see if I can find out for Nairobi? Thank you.

  12. I guess your case is similar to mine.. i was approved expedite but asksed to wait to review documents. Did u receive any email stating that " Your country embassy is willing to expedite yoir case after receiving documents and fees" ? In that case, you still have to wait for your case complete but the moment your case is completed they will send your file same day to your embassy. So the only privilege you have is to get earliest interview date.. As per NVC, some embassies only accept expedite case once case is comepleted like mine.. new delhi

The benefit of priority over interview date is huge as from CC for some embassies it can take 3 months. Quick question, what is the criteria for getting expedite approval? This will be helpful to know as the consulate that has jurisdiction over my spouse immigrant interview can take on average 3 months. Thank you.

I called last Friday and asked for an update. The woman I spoke to was very nice, she said I could call as often as I'd like that is what they are there for. I decided over the weekend I would try to call everyday since they are slow to update online for us.

Tomorrow I will call back and ask about an update on our interview, etc. Until my husband is in my arms. :secret:

Congrats again so 3 days CC from supervisor review is good to know; this is the case for most folks which is great hope for me as my file was put for supervisor review this morning. hopefully at the end of the week I get CC.

  13. :dancing: our case just closed!!

Called NVC to find out about next steps for interview...they are busy...have to call back later.

    I can't stop smiling!!

Congrats this is really great news:) thanks for sharing. So your scan date was Sept 19 and you called Nov 1st where you file was transferred for supervisor review that means it took 4 business days to get CC after Supervisor review. Quick question before today did you call NVC after November 1st?

  14. Hi Everyone ~ Scan Date September 19th; Supervisor Review November 1st.

Thank you for those who responded to my last post; I haven't figured out how to respond to a thread.

I called this morning and our case is still in review.

    A few questions:

    1. I'd like to speak to the supervisor who is reviewing our case, has anyone been able to do this?

    2. I read on a post that the applications are reviewed in teams. Is anyone else waiting on the team working Egypt? I'm trying to figure out if I should be concerned that others have had their CC with the same SD or if it's the region.

    3. I spoke to a couple of lawyers when we decided to apply for USC and at the time didn't think they could offer much for the fee they charge. We started our process in June 2016, so overall think we are moving along efficiently. Now that our application has stalled I am contemplating bringing in a lawyer. Is anyone using a lawyer and feel that it has helped or know what one could add at this time to move our case along?

    4. Once we have our CC, how do we find out about our interview date? I checked the spreadsheet and I didn't see any recent Egypt interviews to gauge how far out their interviews are being scheduled. Do I call NVC for this? I don't like calling them all the time, it wastes everyone's time.

    5. My husband has been asking for my AOS, my husband believes I can email him a copy of the AOS. This seems odd to me...does anyone know about this? I called NVC and they said to wait until the CC before sending in case they require changes. I don't trust the mail service in Egypt so if he needs the original I will bring it to him which means a lot of cost and switching schedules around at the last minute I fear.

It would really be great if NVC caught up with technology and posted more timely information. Living in Seattle, and knowing so many techies, it's frustrating to know this process could be much more streamlined and not require my daily phone calls to NVC. :clock:

Congrats to everyone as they have been completed their next step...and for those of us waiting in between...I'm praying for us all.

Hi my 2 cents to your questions:)

1 and 2)I have never been able to get hold of a supervisor. I read from various posts that it's not possible to get hold of a supervisor. I also I'm unaware of the teams that review the files by regions and would be interesting to know the team handling Uganda (or Nairobi as this is the consulate that processes the immigrant visa).

    3) I don't think a lawyer can help expedite your process but I suggest maybe reach out to your Congressman/Senator as this is free of charge. Since your scan date is Sept 19th hopefully you get a CC this week.

    4) NVC schedules the interviews. Some consulates processes for a few countries and could take upto 3 months from CC for an appointment. You find out about the interview date about 1 month and this is an example for Nairobi embassy and I suspect Egypt may also be handling multiple countries. Hopefully someone in the forum can provide an opinion.

    5) NVC will mail the AOS to the consulate during the interview along with all the documents you mail to them. If your husband is seeking the documents to prep for the interview then no harm. You could send him the supporting documents when you have CC as this will be final.

Lastly to reply to posts you need to click on Quote.

Good luck in getting your CC and to all the folks waiting. Thanks for the prayers and I'm praying for all as well.

  15. Why are they telling you guys to call after/at midnight when they close at midnight??? :ranting:

I believe they are saying we need to complete the 6 weeks before we call to find out the status. This technically is after midnight on November 8th so basically we need to call November 9th. It would be easier if they just said that as we know the telephone line is closed at midnight Eastern Time Zone. This is a script they use to get rid of us lol.

I will call on November 9th when they are open and I'm positive they probably will still have not reviewed the file and will transfer to supervisor for review. This seems to be case where nothing is touched for the first 6 weeks as it appears they are backlogged.

  16. What does N/A mean?

    N/A is not applicable.

When you log into CEAC you normally have 2 N/As under Affidavit of Support Documents & Financial Evidence and Civil

Documents. Based on my reading of WIKI that is a resource in Visa Journey, if you see 3 N/A it's indicative that it's CC. You can then call NVC to confirm as the email from them does take a while to be received.

  17. OMG GUYS CRYING RIGHT NOW. JUST GOT BACK FROM WORK TO SEE 3 N/AS CAN'T BELIEVE MY EYES OH MY GOODNESS! GOING TO CALL NVC RIGHT NOW FREAKING OUT. :D :D :D :D :D

Congrats this is good news:) I guess a day after 6 weeks is over is good to call and if file is not yet processed request to have supervisor review. I see it took you 2 days for supervisor review to receive 3 N/As. Let us know if you have CC. Thank you
