Did you apply for the EAD/AP card? Because if you get the AP then you can reenter the country with that one.
Should get that about 90 days after you apply.

On the GC no one can tell you some are lucky it goes fast while others have to wait longer. Then there also is the whole interview or no interview and wait line for an interview if called for one.

Suzy&Geoff reacted to Megha13 in interview for permanent residence (merged)
Hi all, I applied for permanent residence on 18th Jan, filing both i485 and i-130 concurrently. It reached USCIS on 20th Jan, got NOA1 through text on 26th Jan, received hard copy 1st Feb and got my biometric appointment on the 17th! Suddenly I checked my status on USCIS for i485 receipt number, to my surprise it says Case Is Ready To be Scheduled for An Interview. Is it green card interview with my spouse?? I am so surprised it's so early, It's been a month I applied. Please any suggestions you guys have?

For the family name, all you need is to bring the marriage certificate to the social security office and apply for the card with your new last name. Then just use your name family name on the AOS paperwork.

@Darnell, are you sure about that? I ask because my wife's name is listed on our marriage license and certificate as her maiden name. When then took those papers to SSN office and had name change done. As for AOS, no direct evidence was ever asked for except passport, EAD card, SSN card and marriage license per the name change. The courts don't control the SSN record which is what immigration will access...so I am just thinking about this.

Have you filed for Advanced Parole too or just the I-485? Unfortunately, you won't be able to leave the country unless you have an approved Advanced Parole, like stated above.

Hopefully you applied for AP at the same time as filing for AOS. It usually takes about 3 months for AP to come through (can be variable), so unless your honeymoon is going to be more than 3 months from now, best not to leave the US.

Are you talking about a Caribbean cruise?
I wouldn't advise leaving the shores of the US without an authorised Advance Parole document as it's going to bring you a whole heap of trouble trying to get back in.

2015 tax return, w2, pay stubs and some also need/provide a letter from employer stating the salary (If the job is new) and banks statements.
All this is not needed until the interview.

London does not have a specific requirement for income documentation with an I-134, as long as you prove it with something. So use a tax return, or employer letter, or pay stubs, or bank statement if you have no income but are using assets. They have approved lots with only an employer letter and no tax return. If you have a tax return and W2, then use it. It's an easy proof without chasing down a letter. Or take a combo of two things if you are a worrier.
