Thank everyone that have provided answer that might help the OP. Let me quickly say that it is not our job to presume this couple's situation or adjudicate their case. Not everyone case is the same, not everyone are tech or internet savvy, even if they are not everyone have time or understand the usefulness of a community like this. For example my wife never used this app to ask questions or resolve her concerns though I asked her to create an account, we eventually started using the same account. So in summary we are here to provide support to each other.
To the OP question, like many previous response, more context is needed to give you answers that will be more useful to you. Like at what stage are you in your petition? I am not familiar with CR1 interview in Nigeria but I am sure like many have said it is difficult place to be interviewed. There are somethings that are good to have but not necessarily a requirement, a CR1 interview, some of these are ITIN for taxes, children, documents that have you and your spouse names, joint bank/credit account or joint insurance benefits. This is because you don't live in the US yet. Consular officers understand this, they only start asking for these extra documents when they suspect fraud and they are trying double check/cross their T's and giving you the opportunity to prove them wrong. Again note that you still need to prove bonafide marriage, other thoughtful member here have mentioned some of these documents or how to find what you need. Lastly, on your question whether or not you need an affidavit, if your application is still pre NVC stage(that is, have not been approved in the US yet), then it is probably useful to add affidavit not just from your family/friends but also from your spouse family and friends, otherwise I personally think it useless at embassy interview stage.
In summary, a bonafide marraige is not difficult to prove because it have all the elements of a bonafide marriage. Marriage is important in Nigeria again the Consular officers understand this too. You will need to show that during your CR1 interview. good luck !

Congratulations! Some USCIS offices do not want or ask to speak to the spouse. Was it a requirement that they speak to your spouse first at the Minneapolis local USCIS office?
I am sure this is a case by case basis. We were never interviewed in the US before the N-400 interview as I came to the US with CR1 visa. So I can't speak entirely for Minneapolis office, but on the day of the interview there were 3 couples that went before us that their spouses weren't interview at least not separately.

Had my Combo interview today (Minneapolis,MN Office). Lasted for about 30 minutes. Wife was interviewed first for about 5 minutes, then interview took the rest of the time. I was approved.
I was asked at least 6 Civic questions(I was surprised he went that far, but all good since I prepared for it). The officer said I should be part of the next Ceremony (in June). So the last wait begins. Good luck to all that are still waiting for both biometric or/and interview appointments.

I also tried calling but wasn't able to reach a human. But I put in a request last month through my online portal and got a reply today. No update yet on my case status though but hopeful that will happen soon.
Pretty straight forward on how send a request, but for those that don't know. Click on My Account --> Inbox then click on New Message. See screenshot below

I used Ask Emma. I typed "Live Chat", and then it gives me the options of "case status", then I select biometrics. Finally it then shows the link to connect to a representative. And then I chat with them asking about case status.
Depending on where your ASC is, you may need to wait a few more days. Baltimore opened on 7/20, so 90 days is 18 October....
Thank you, I did as you described and my 90 days is 18 Oct as you mentioned. I will put in a request on Monday.

Anyone for the Baltimore field office? I filed June 23rd and have not heard anything since. Last biometrics were done in 2015 for EB greencard so I have low hopes of them being reused. The local field office was opened on 7/27. I've been told to ask 90 days after the reopening, so I that 10/25..in about 10 days now.
How did you contact USCIS, I tried calling I was stuck with the Automated help service. PD: June 04, 2020.

That's the plan, I was just worried that they would question me about why I didn't file them as married from the beginning.
May I ask what did they ask her? Did she get approved?
No questions about tax return document. And yes I was approved. But individual case is unique.

NVC don't really care how you filed, just so long as you did file. Many file as single and have no issues.
I think this is a pretty valid answer.
My wife filed single, because of this same issue at the time.

and no one asked questions about that. If add your wife is something you can do easily, you should go ahead and do it. If not you should worry too much about it as the embassy probably know this is not a trivial thing to do. Good luck

Yes to all. I think your fiance will be fine with the current passport no extra traveling document will be needed as long as the passport is at least 6 months valid from the time of visa interview.

It's sad that replies jump to 'motives' and 'hidden innuendos' of the OP. I am equally guilty of assumptions often when I read a post. I have found that a moment of reflection and re-reading the post before quipping a response usually produces my best answer for the benefit of the OP.
I believe that what we do today has an influence on tomorrow. If the OP has decided to NOT follow through with her original intentions, she is being prudent in that she wants to expeditiously dispose of this matter in the best way that has the least impact on tomorrow. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? Maybe she likes American men, Maybe she is just closing the chapter in this book and preparing for the next chapter to begin. In any case, her dark secret ulterior motives were not stated in her post, so we can presume all we want - and quite frankly, I don't think she has any.
A post on VJ should not be a descent into a viper pit. It should be for a dialogue of considerate and respectful discussion.
Thank you for your kind words. People of these days are so quick to judge and make sentence.

That's not the appointment confirmation page but the transaction confirmation. The page will literally have the title 'Appointment Confirmation'. It comes with the following sections:
1. Applicant details
2. Consular appointment details
3. Document delivery information
4. MRV fee payments - this part should contain the DS-260 and UID barcodes
5. Instructions
Thank you. I will try and contact the consulate for more information then.

I am schedule for a (CR1) interview at Guangzhou in August and part of the checklist item is an online registration confirmation from CGI Stanley. We are wondering if we actually need to go with this confimation form. If yes, I have attach a copy of what we got as confirmation page. Is this the correct document to go with?
Thanks for your postive response

What you could do is send an email to the Embassy visa department to confirm your attendance - they will reply so you then have complete peace of mind for the next few weeks.
I would do that, thanks alot.

No, the NVC letter is the one you take with you, the embassy won't send you a letter
Thank you.

I am schedule for interview(at GUANGZHOU) on August 7th as per NVC interview appointment letter. However I am yet to receive an interview letter from the Embassy. Though I have corresponded with them a couple of times. So my question is should I expect an appointment letter from the embassy?
Thanks

She can obtain a police report now. Remember such reports are normally valid for 1 year according to USCIS regulations. The report needs to be translated and notarized(if you dont already know that). Good luck.

Another quick question. Is there a time frame on my police check? I have one from November 2016! Is that too old?
Does it have to be more recent?
I think that depends on Country/Consulate requirement. However, the general rule(USCIS) is that the report be less than one year old If you still reside in the country. So in your case, I think that is a NO, you don't need a new one until November 2017
-
No, you dont need a police clearance from the US. Good luck

Just not sure about when to start panicking lol
After 30 days pal. Well we had the issue when we filed for I-130, We later disccussed that my wife forgot to add the I-130 petition form. They return the packet to us requesting we add the form and resend the packet. SO THAT MIGHT BE A POSSIBILITY
