Anyone went to Minneapolis SSN office to update the citizenship status ? I went there a month ago left my citizenship certificate with a form . Until today I still haven’t received my certificate of citizenship back. I wonder anyone experience this and how long they will mail back your document ?

I'm unsure about that? I thought it's a straight forward process, you show them the certificate they update and you leave with it?

To say that ceremony was canceled is an inaccurate statement per what I found out. No need for people to worry...

I know someone who spoke with the person who is responsible for organizing these events at the court (she has the "day of ceremony" organizing responsibilities). She said it would be inaccurate to say that any ceremony event was canceled this month. Again, no ceremony as a whole was canceled. She said that this week's ceremony is still happening for many people. She said that if someone got de-scheduled, it may be for a reason related to their own file and that the ceremony is still taking place on time at the same place this week for everyone else. She said that no more people will be added to that event as it is considered too late at this point to add more people.

She also said that next ceremonies will take place in June (if nothing changes). She said currently, they are taking more people into the ones in June. She said there are currently two ceremonies in June and both are in the last week of June (she was unable to recall the exact date without looking at her paperwork but she confirmed that both ceremonies were in the last week of June). She said it would be too early to confirm whether they will add more ceremonies in June or not, but for now, there are only two of them which may change.

This is for everyone in the group: Please make sure that your reported information in the group reflects the event and exact words of the status. For example when it says interview will be scheduled, report interview WILL be scheduled (not that you have been scheduled). Another example, when you have been de-scheduled, then report that you have been de-scheduled (not that the whole ceremony has been canceled and then start implying that everyone who got scheduled to that event is now de-scheduled). Exaggerations or added-drama or change of words change the meaning and may sometime make people worry or run into false expectations. Thanks...

I understand you but i also want to indicate that I was just saying exactly what the status showed, their USCIS status said exactly : Your Oath ceremony has been canceled, the fine print said the blurb of unforeseen circumstances and that a new schedule will be mailed yadayada, so writing here or inquiring with anything other than what was really sent in the notice would be confusing and misleading.

    Good afternoon  everyone,

I had my interview yesterday at 1:15pm NYC Manhattan office my wife came with me to the interview no problems they let her in when we got to the officer who is assigned to our N400 we told her that I have a pending I 751 it took them at least an hour to find my I 751 and I ended up doing both interviews.

I passed the test for N400 and and along another question about our relationship then moved on I 751 watch is the same thing.

I was given a piece of paper says I passed the history civics and writing test but can’t make a decision.

Anyone knows how long is going to take them to make a decision? And how?

It depends, in my case which is similar to yours it was 3 days. I interviewed on a Friday EOD (3 PM) and got the approvals on Monday, unsure if the weekend should be counted or not....

I asked and he shrugged and said "with covid....🤷‍♂️"

    Congrats!

I got a notice in the mail yesterday saying that both applications are approved and that I will NOT receive a new green card since I am in line for an oath and that the naturalization certificate will serve as the proof of citizenship...

The weird part is the timeline of notices:

    Interview 23rd

Approval updated on USCIS April 26 (N400). April 27th (i751)

797 notice received yesterday but notice date was April 23rd, the day of the interview...

  5. Why would you say you were married on the non-immigrant visa?!

You are going no where, better start planning on your wife moving to live with you wherever you are, not to go back and forth, your case is 100% deniable and there is no remedy whatsoever. Not even a good lawyer can defend you, even if they were able to, in USCIS eyes you have provided false information and you are not admissible by law.

  6. I think Oath schedules as well vary a lot, regardless of when you submitted n400 or interview dates, there are some folks that applied based on 5 years residency, them people been waiting much longer than the 3 years marriage based applicants, so naturally they should be given priority, others have pending i751 some have theirs approved long ago and still waiting, my guess is that things are moving based of a certain criteria that is unknown to us.

Mine is similar to what Ashcar14 is posting. As you may see, it says that we should receive our notice within 30 days of its mailing date (which didn't happen yet). But, yes, we are placed in line for our oath ceremony and we will be sent a notice that contains a date/time/place of the ceremony in the future once they determine that date/time/place.  Who knows when they will do that! It is unknown when they will schedule us at this point (at least to the applicant).

I use the other portal, which some refer to as the "old" e-gov DHS website, could be the reason?

Did you guys have also pending i751? I got a text earlier saying that my i751 was approved on April 23rd, which was my interview day, yesterday got the oath notice dated 26 and was wondering why there was no update on the i751 but apparently it was just a delayed notice (received 27th dated 23rd)

as for ceremonies the IO told me that the next wave will be in June, people taking their Oath in May were notified in April, so maybe we will get scheduled for June and notified in May.

if you have an approved i751 and you're just waiting for the oath, things are good, do not over think about it, eventually the appointments will be sent out...

Yes, I think many of us have that!

I think you have to read the status a little bit more carefully. Mine say 30 days... and it has been saying that for almost 30 days now, but, what it actually says is that I am in line to be scheduled and that the upto 30 days waiting time should be my expectation once they mail me the notice (which they did not do yet).

I think what yours says possibly 45 days after they mail your notice (which they did not do yet because you are in-line to be scheduled). I say that to avoid confusion and false expectations of the readers.

Does yours say in line to be scheduled? Mine reads In line for Oath ceremony, does not say to be scheduled. the fine print reads, your form number xyz has been approved and you are in line for an oath ceremony, a mail notice will be sent in the next 45 days with details about the date/time/location.

are you saying your status change oath ceremony notice sent with out approving first your I 751 CASE? and can you share what your status N400 IS SAYS now? if you can

I guess so? N400 says in line for oath ceremony and the narration says I will be receiving the date/time of the ceremony by mail within 45 days. i751 still says "Ready to be scheduled for interview"

I had my interview today in the morning. It went well overall. The officer started asking me about my travels outside the country. She said that I was using my B2 Visa that is on my passport and it looks like I quit my permanene residency. I told her I had no clue about that, I always used my green card and my passport to travel and I had no clue what the officers at the airport were looking at and what they stamped in my passport and then she said that it looks like somebody else had the same Alien number than mine, at that point I was petrified and had no response to all of this, then she asked me to step out the room that she had to call the supervisor. 5 minutes after she called me back and kept asking me about my travels out of the country until she said, ok let's proceed with the interview. She asked name, address, wife's name, kid's name, for how long have we been married, phone numbers, and 2019 taxes. Then she asked me if I wanted to be interviewed as a 5 year petitioner, she said that way I don't have to show her any paperwork ( 😐  ) I said yes ok. Then she started with the Yes and No questions, She tested my English - writing and reading, and then she proceeded to the civics, history questions, she made 5 questions and that was it. She asked me if I knew what a Oath of allegiance was and then she made me sign the Form N-652 whch she marked the box A) Congratulations! your application has been recommended for approval. and then she said that's it, I did not have nothing to do but wait.

Hours later I checked my case in my computer and Found this 👇👇👇👇👇👇  . I hope everything goes well. I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel, but lets wait for the letter ! I still anxious hehe !
