Lets see if they will schedule our biometrics later then.  it makes zero sense to me that they would but I suppose stranger things have happened...

It depends on when you biometrics were last taken. Mine were about a year before submitting for ROC.

I filed in May, cased denied, then refiled in June, got NOA beginning of June ,  still nothing about biometrics.

But I can tell I may have a long way to go since many May filers are still waiting for their biometrics notices.

I just wonder if the biometrics is waived, will USCIS notice us ? Because it does not show anything on mycaseUSCIS

MIne was waived, letter said they are using old ones

That....doesn't seem to make much sense.  Have any other members received this letter?

    I did.

WAC receipt number here and no biometrics yet - What i've learnt from having to call USCIS many times in the past for questions along those lines is, there's usually no point. You'll typically get a response of "sorry, i don't know anything but i see the same thing you do; nothing yet, it just takes how long it takes".
It seems like a lot of people are just getting biometrics letters much later, if at all, just from my browsing around of timelines.

In saying that though, i do still hope we hear something back soon! (because sitting around and waiting sucks)

I just thought I'd pop back in here to update:  I still have not received my biometrics appt letter after receiving my NOA1 since the end of May (it was dated 5/22).

I called USCIS yesterday after a long 50 min wait - the lady who answered looked into it and said that we should be getting our Biometrics Letter within 30 days after the NOA1.  In my case specifically, she was able to check and see that apparently my biometrics appointment has not even been scheduled yet, for some reason.

I did submit a case inquiry online a week ago and she saw that, so she said its been registered on the system and I should be getting an email by the first week of August about next steps.  She said they would not be sending my biometrics info over the email but it should be a correspondence that says a biometric letter has been or will be sent.

Again, not much new information there but it was comforting speaking to someone about it.  She was actually able to tell me that its not that anything was lost in the mail - its just that for some reason it has not been scheduled - and I suspect that for many of us at SRC that may be the case.  If anything else changes I will let all know.

Mixed reviews in this thread but some points do make sense. We filed May 13th, NOA1 May 21th and nothing since then, I submitted an inquiry and called on 07/14, lady said she can see the inquiry and that I am in some sort of system awaiting schedule for biometrics in local office. She also said I might have been delayed to cross check my status as I was on an IR1 by mistake and changed it (i90) to CR1. Been out all day today and just remembered to check my mail, received a letter saying they will use my old fingerprints.  (Did biometrics back in February 2018)

People don't understand that they send their packages to a lockbox, they think they send them to a Service Center. So when sent to the Dallas lockbox they somehow believe that's the Texas Service Center.

They also seem to think that their cases are transferred between TSC and whichever service center that shows on the NOA1. They don't understand that their cases are only at a lockbox facility and are being routed (not transferred) to the service center they were assigned to.

So, I sent my package to Phoenix, got a MSC, and MSC is dealing with my case now? Or will my local office be dealing with it? MN-Saint Paul? (Yes the slowest ever!)

If so, what I do not understand is that you mentioned biometrics are only requested when the grab you case to work on it. is that MSC or local office? Many MCS here got biometrics before their case going to local office. Wondering about the inconsistency between idle cases and cases that already did bio that filed after those idle.

Thanks for the feedback. I see a lot of people with citizenship status just walk in with no problem. I will still try and see if I can get some feedback.

That is correct, US citizens are allowed on certain days after 3 PM for passports or birth certificates and so on. What you can do is if you know of any US citizen friend in Accra, ask them to go on your behalf, or go with, give this person a statement that he is a representative or allowed to get you information. Write your case number and ID number along with his passport number, the officers inside will not give information unless you authorize the person.

  6. I've had issues with the embassy in Accra several times and no responses to emails as well. My wife who is a US citizen went there on US citizens service days and spoke to an agent. We got things sorted out. I do know in your case you might not have that option since its DV. But I would try to go there and speak to the security guards on the right side of the building (2nd circular roundabout) at around 3 PM they can telecom and get you in if an officer is willing to see you. Bring dated paperwork with you so that the security can confirm that you had a previous appointment and a passport in their possession.

OK here's the answer, just received in the mail "This notice informs you that USCIS is able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics. USCIS will run the same security checks and use your biometric data as in the past, however, it is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for biometrics appointment."

Of course the biometrics fee wasn't refunded, but at this point I won't be complaining :)

Finally, my receipt number is "MSCXXXXX" but on this NOA it says my service center is NBC. What does that mean? Cheers

May I ask when did you have your fingerprints taken previously?  I am thinking the same is happening here since I haven't heard about biometrics and my prints were taken less than a year ago.

and how long between NOA1 and this biometrics notice?

    Thank you

There's still people who filed 10-12 months ago who haven't had their biometrics taken yet. USCIS have no use for your biometrics until they actually pick up your case to process it, so there's no rush whatsoever with having your biometrics done as the ROC process likely will be pretty lengthy.

Yeah, I was hoping to get the notice as soon as 1 week. Many people got theirs within 2 weeks. Have travel plans and wouldn't want to receive while abroad.

My wife did not.........only by mail....

I see, I am now worried that the biometric appointment got lost in the mail? Been over 3 weeks since 797 but no word on biometrics, no text, no email or mail and status still shows "we've received your application".

Whats the best way to check the issue? on the e-request it said I have to wait until 30 days go by.

The reason I ask is that I was a K1 filler.  However, when we received our initial Green Card we were category CR1.  I had to fill out paperwork and request a replacement card for the correct category, which took year to be reissued the correct CF1 Green Card.  Long story short, there were several of K1 fillers in 2017 that were miscategorized as CR1 by USCIS.  Some of us had or categories corrected, others did not.

My CG was issued in 2017 as IR1 for 10 years while it was supposed to be CR1. I also filed to change it, took 8 months from filing to receiving.

    Ah Thanks!!!

Though both said just that the case was recieved.  😞   *manically refreshes both pages*

    EDIT-

Also, they do not have the same dates for recieved!  Old has the 19th of April, New is the 23rd.  This is just confusing

    Does anyone use https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/?

This is another website, I have an account where I can actually find my whole package scanned copy.

    ADD:

And also copies of all letters sent by mail.
