you're unaware that the first lady has staff that handles the same stuff that the Prez is asked to fix? He gets 100's of thousands of request per day. She get a hundred, but when her staff calls some fed employee, it's STILL "the white house calling". and if you dont want to be working in Alaska and it's your fault, best fix it. One of her clerks tells her, "Mrs trump, so and so is ignoring me", and Melania says, "Donald, I have a problem". you think that any fed employee wants to risk that? I got action really well with a letter to Barbara Bush and believe me, the Fed did NOT want to do what I was asking. 🙂

because the website language is ambiguous. It said 3 years from date of residence, which they SHOULD explain means from the issue date of your green card. We thought it meant from the time she got a US driver's license, SSN, etc. So now, we are told that we have to start all over, and lose our $700 fee, too. Because they should have caught this when we first applied, or when she got her biomentrics, this is really their error. I've got a US congressman looking into that and I doubt we'll lose the fee. I'll bring Ms Trump's staff in on it if I must. However, now we have to change our approach to getting her 9 y o (will be 10 in Feb) daughter here. My Filipina wife has been told that she can't file for her daughter to "follow on'" cause her her 10 year visa was delayed. She was given some sort of 18 month extension of her 2 year visa. So I'm trying to send for her daughter myself. Can I get some advice about doing that? Thanks.

thanks, guys. Yes, the daughter is listed on the I 129, but I was unaware that we only had a year to bring her here. That complicates things ( a lot)

I brought her here to US in July 2016. and married here that same month. We'd had 2 months together in Phills back in Feb-April of 2015, and I'd supported her and her mom and 2 siblings all that time. All is well here. I'm curious as to whether her child is now a US citizen because I married her mom, or is a formal adoption required? Thanks.

it took 3 months to get her work permit (after application) and another month to get her green card. She got a $10 an hour, 30 hour drudgery job almost immediately, and after 90 days, they now offer medical insurance for her. She needs to pass her Toefl english test in order to get college grants and loans, tho.

She got her notice of green card approval as of Dec 15. We applied about August 15, so about 4 months. Her work permit took about 3 months. Thanks to all here!

she used her work permit to get a state ID, used that to open a checking acct, so she's on her way. Now to pass the TOEFL english test and get her enrolled in nursing college, get her grants and loans, buy her a small, old car and she'll be rocking right along!

thanks. She got her EAD work permit yesterday. I had to involve our congressman and re-send the award letters, but I think all will be well. Nov 1, 2016. She's been here almost 4 months, it has taken 2.5 months to get the work permit. thanks again to all here

thanks for the info, but the award from VA only started 10 months ago. So the past year would not show the required income level, anyway.
She got an approval letter today, Oct 21, for her advanced parole. Does that mean that her green card is approved? We have not yet received the actual parole document, thanks!

She gave her biometics today, and then I got a letter saying that my income is not sufficient (the hell it aint, it's a CLEAR 21k per year. which is the same as grossing 25k per year They asked for income tax, altho I clearly stated that my income is un-taxed (SS retirement and VA disability) and I had sent copies of my award letters. My wife's in panic mode. My income is a LOT more secure than practically anybody's job. Somebody can be grossing 40k per year and not have that job the next day. If VA and SS stop paying me, it's cause the US is not a nation any more! :-) can anyone advise me? I figure to just again make copies of my award letters, send it to ICE with a letter of explanation and send copies of everything to my Congressman. Any other ideas?

Since she came in on a k1 visa and we got married, does she use the I 485? is that the correct variant of the 1-94? I don't understand about this automation stuff? is there some place that she enters her passport number and some individualized data can be downloaded? Thanks so much for your help! this is ridculously confusing

and we've been married for 3 weeks. I lived with her for a couple of months in Phills , feb and march of 2015 and I"ve supported her family ever since. The forms call for an I-94, which she never got. Is this something that she can just download online? we are in OK and she came in thru Dallas airport. They'd had the cop shooting that day and everything was hectic. We've checked off everything else on the list, but this I-94 thing is confusing! thanks for your help!

Does anyone have data on how long we must wait for her green card? I've found info suggesting that her EAD work permit is likely to take 3 months+, but i could not find much about a green card. She'll have been here about a month when the application gets to them. We got married right away. Got her college credits evaluated. All but her Tagalog classes received full credit here in US. ECE got the eval to us just as promised, after I sent the "rush" money of $80.
Since her fiance visa expires in 70 days, what is her legal status, " married having applied for green card" seems very nebulous and ephemeral to me.

Thanks a lot. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to get the work permit and green card. She is from Phills, if that matters? I"m a 60% disabled vet and on SS retirement, so my income, while small, is very stable.

now trying to do the adjustment of status application and also the application for her EAD work permit. I believe that I can apply for both at the same time, and there's no additional $380 for the EAD, that way, just the $1070 for the AOS. I am trying to do this online, today. thanks for your help. I am not good at searching here, sorry

good luck with finding a joint sponsor. When your prospective sponsor finds out that he's on the hook for medical expenses and everything else if you divorce, etc, for 10 years, they will not co sign.
we filed for her citizenship 2 months too soon

Offensive word taken out
they did nothing, so they have zero claim on my $700. That is not the issue. what I ASKED about, before all you jumped in, is what do I have to do in order to get her daughter here? I do not believe it takes a year. It only took 4 months to get my wife here.
