That's pretty much in line with what I figured would happen below...

So have you given further thought to inquiring with a 3rd party to step in at this point, since it's been over a year without movement?  Up to you, of course, if you want to continue to just wait it out.

yes i did. i send an email to USCIS ombusman yesterday.

  5. i send an email to uscis and this was their reply

The status of this service request is:

Thank you for contacting USCIS concerning the above-referenced application. Below is a summary of what we have found and how the issue has been resolved or additional actions required.

    What We Have Done
USCIS has reviewed your Service Request.  According to USCIS records, we are unable to move forward with your application until the required background checks have been completed.  At this time, we are unable to determine when the adjudication of your case will be completed and no further action is required from you.  We apologize for any inconvenience caused by delays in processing.

Curious how long you will continue to wait, as you've waited a year now for them to render a decision (to the point, legally USCIS must take no more than 120 days from the interview date)?

Your choice, of course---other options have been outlined in this thread.

going to info pass on Thursday and i going ask about the 120 day dead line that have to make a decision. let see what they say.

If you mentioned speeding ticket on your application than its not an issue. Your application might still be in security check due to they find a new information that doesn't match current given information.

God knows what is the case, no one will tell you the what is the reason beside " Security check still in progress ".

    You have 2 choice,

1- Just chill and just keep waiting.

    2- File law suit.

I will choose option one, unless US passport is the only way you can travel.

Hope you hear a good news soon.

ok thank you, i think i just going to wait and see what happen

A writ of mandamus isn't used for an N-400. Instead, it would be a lawsuit under 8 USC 1447(b).

You can do this 120 days after your interview if there hasn't been a decision.

when i went for the infopass they told i just need to wait for the 3rd party sent the information they need from them. how do i start the lawsuit?

A speeding ticket is not really a criminal record.

A criminal record involves being arrested and convicted of a crime. Speeding is a minor offense unless you led the LAPD on a high speed chase.

well the officer who interview me told that he need it a verification done first before he could make he decision.

And they won't tell you who the 3rd party is?

Legally, you are past the maximum amount of time they have to render a decision for the N400.  That being said, most you can do at this point is either get your congress person involved and have them inquire with USCIS on your behalf, or prepare a writ of mandamus to force them into making a decision.

no they wont told me. they only say that i have to wait that's there nothing i can do but to wait.

  11. i have my interview on april 14 2017 everything when great pass the civil and write test. the office say that he will make he decision later on the day. still waiting for the decision i call several time and has been to several infpass the only they say to me is that they are waiting on a 3rd party verification. NOTE:  I DO HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD THAT HAPPEN 10YRS AGO i provide all the court and police record to the immigration officer and say that everything look good on my case that i should recieve the a positive answer by the end of tthe day of interview. i did sign the n400 application and a certificate. has anyone experience something like this before
