My files have just arrived to NVC so I am gathering all the paperwork that will be needed for this step. One of the items that they are asking for is a copy of the passport which I don't have yet. Has anyone submitted their copies without a copy of the passport or is that a requirement?  Also I am petitioning his son so will I need a copy of his son's passport? (I don't think he has ever been issued one).

yes it will need it whitout that you won't case your case complete.

yes it does. thank you for clarifying that for me i was though is the embassy is close nvc won't schedule the interview.

My husband wanted to apply for citizenship to speed up our applications (he is due to apply this month ) but he heard that it takes around 6 months for him to be granted citizenship..and he decided against applying citizenship now as he thinks it may further delay our applications. This is our 2nd marriage...and we both have our legal papers certifying the divorces & I also have the NOC of permanent custodian of my daughter. it was him i would apply for citizenship because you never know how the visa bulletin will move every  month. some people get their citizenship in two where some get it in a year.

I thought the NVC interviews my daughter & I as we are the ones moving to the US..my husband is already working there and is a permanent resident...Am I missing something? Pardon my ignorance.

are you doing adjustment of status? when did he receive the email with the interview date, maybe the interview is for your and your daughter?

Please suggest i am in a limbo now , i sent a question asking NVC about upgrade process via this link https://secureforms.travel.state.gov/ask-nvc.php yesterday without knowing this was for actually upgrading the case. will it be on the records and impact if i dont upgrade now?

no you don't have sent I864 again. just the document they requested on the checklist
