I only put one but it was an original... is that likely to RFE?

Ohh you should never send original documents, unless they specifically request it. And also they’re less likely to send you back your original document, as you gonna need it when you go do your biometrics for example...so yes they might send you an RFE asking you to provide proof of name change ....

Ok, so the advance parole is just what the document is called???

Yes that’s the name of the document. AP.

as far as part7, it’s just a little stating saying that you wish to visit your family on this date for this long..that’s it. It doesn’t have to be a long text.

Hey guys, i'm new to the AOS forum. Hoping to submit by the end of this week but having some concerns... Form Form I -131 Part 2 . That response should be 1a correct? Im a little confused because we are submitting everything together so technically that is not true... Can anyone clarify this

Hi there, if you are filing based on your K1 visa, your response should be 1d, because you are applying to reinter the country in case you travel before you GC is approved.

Hi all - I originally thought I'd send mine off sooner and be an April filer, but we've been so busy that I haven't finished the packet for DH yet. We're hoping to send it on Monday. I just have to finish the Affidavit of Support and I think we'll be good to go. I have some questions if any of you want to help me :)

How did you guys organize your packets? Do I need to include any evidence of relationship in this packet or is that for the interview?

Would anyone mind critiquing my table of contents for my package? How many G-1145s do I need? I attach one to each front of 485, 765, and 131, right?

    Table of Contents

    Check or money order

    Form G-1145, Request for e-Notification

    Form I-485

Copy of the non US Citizen Spouses Passport - biographical page as well as entry stamps

Copy of NOA2 Approval for I-129F

Copy of the non US Citizen Spouses valid paper I-94 (front and back of form) <---this I just printed from the website, is it sufficient? He didn't get anything else at the the airport

A copy of the intending immigrant's birth certificate along with English translation

A copy of your marriage certificate

    Two passport-type photos of spouse

    I-864, Affidavit of Support

    I-765, Application for Employment Authorization

    I-131, Application for Travel Document

You need to add supporting documents for the I-765 and I-131. Look at @thirteenthday12 docs and do the same.

Hi all! So yours is just perfect. Maybe just a little too much on the item « f » that’s not necessary when you have the item « g » or the other way! Good luck!!

Hello all! I am putting together the packet for AoS and noticed that the guides don't mention anything about evidence of bonafide relationship. Am I missing something? I have our marriage certificate and such. I feel like in the past I have read that we need to provide proof that we share a bank account and that my husband's name is on our lease..etc..

Hey there! At this point they don’t really need a proof of relationship other than your marriage certificate and the affidavit of support from the US spouse . I did mine without the lease and pictures and all and got my gc.

    Need K-1 Practical Help References

I am U.S. citizen, engaged to a Colombian Woman I have known for 4 years.

I have hired a service in Medellin to help with the K-1 application but they are very disorganized and I don't have a lot of faith in them.

I have read the Nolo Press book, Marriage and Fiance Visas, all relevant instructions and comments I can find on this site.

If anyone has any other links where to find more information to compile the application, I would appreciate it.

I will submit the application in early Dec. when I return to the states.

Our timeline is tight to hopefully get it approved and the visa for her and her daughter by July during the U.S. school break.

Hi Kimo! Congratulations to you and your fiancée, and also welcome to the site.

1st advice, DO NOT SPEND a penny on lawyers and services or anything, unless your case is really complicated.

2nd, read the guides then read the forums talking about K1 process and all.

My then fiancé now husband and I followed step by step and  guides here, what documents to provide and we got approved in a 5months timeframe.

This site has helped me a lot, and continues to do so. Try and you’ll see.

    Hi guys!!

I filled for AOS (from K1) March 30, and my status has been on "fingerprints fee received" since April 4th. I got my EAD in June, but case status has been on "fingerprints" since April 4th. No news of interview or anything else.

Should I be worried?? It's been 7 months already! My field office, I think, is San Antonio, TX (I live in Austin).

I've seen people who applied after me get their green cards already. I'm starting to grow inpatient and to freak out a little bit.

Does it normally take this long to receive news about interview? :blink:

Hey ! Same here, Fingerprints fee received on April 7th...since then nothing. I called twice already and they tell me to wait, because the National Benefit Center processing the cases are still processing cases of August 2016. Like for real??? So ...yes . Just wait...and wait...

Hi guys, for those you got their Ead/combo card, how many days did it take for you to receive your card after they mailed it?? And did you receive another email from uscis that says usps has picked up your card and gave you a tracking number??

Hi, it took for me 5 business days (read my signature). And no, there wasn't any tracking number or anything.
