I’m nigerian married to a USC in Italy and had my interview on the 11 dec 2018 in Naples consulate the CO said I will get my visa in by mail and kept my passport and I was given the ds5535 the same day and being on AP ever since with a couple of updates

if I may ask did you guys get married in Morocco and were you given the 221g or ds5535

wish you best of luck 🙏🏾

Yes we had a big wedding in Morocco at a licensed place of worship the pastor was Nigerian also but we have not had our interview yet for the cr1 we are still waiting.... have you been calling and emailing to see what is going on with your passport

  2. Just don't go to the interview if that's your decision but be sure this is what you want because you have time but remember this is casablanca and making a decision like that you must be sure because casablanca is tough but make sure the US fiance knows

  3. Its best to get married than file I-130 after getting denied the k1..me and my husband met  in 2013 filed the I-129 in 2016 got denied was told to get married or file I-129 again so we had our big wedding in Morocco in 2017 and filed I-130 so refiling the I-129 is not a good idea for Morocco unless you are going to physically live together in Morocco for more than 3 months to a year then file the I-129 but even then they may deny so make the choice that is best for you

Evidence does not always speak for itself. I would not take advice from anyone who applied in the Philippines. They're a horse of another color. Seems normal for 70 year old men to bring 19 year old women, but that wouldn't fly in African countries. From experience and knowing other applicants from red flag countries, including myself - evidence isn't always looked at. No need to hire a lawyer but be smart because the CO may not even ask for pictures/chats or ANYTHING. Many times, they see the age difference on the 134/129 and the DS-160 and will automatically jump into questions about it. A couple had been previously asked about the weight of the wife and if the husband was bothered by it. You really just never know. Be smart and don't assume because you took a picture together that the CO will just say "ok sure.. Welcome to the USA"

Thanks for saying this and pointing out the difference in the Philippines and other countries like it..countries like these can not be compared to African countries and others because we all know its not the same all

Hello! My name is Alina. A friend of mine recommended this site in my situation.

The thing is that I will marry a man who is US citizen in a country where I am permanently living but I am a citizen of another country. The country where I live( f.e. call it A) doesn't register marriage according to the law that we are both not citizens of A country. Neither me nor my fiance can go to  a country where I am a citizen( call it B).

So,what should I do? Maybe someone had such situation and there is a way to solve it?

    Thank everyone in advance.

Please private message me because there is hope for your situation because like I explained my husband is a resident in Morocco but we found out that he is still considered a foreigner marrying a foreigner regardless and we thought we had to go to another country to get married also but we did not have to do that after speaking with people in the government...so don't get discouraged by negativity because there is a way to solve it

  6. Every country is different but I have already experienced this because me and my husband went through being a foreigner in a country...my husband is a resident in morocco and I am a US citizen and we are both Christians so we had a big wedding at a church in morocco and had to get legalized witnesses documented and register our marriage certificate with the minister of justice in morocco and we had to present evidence to the minister of justice in morocco because even though you both may be foreigners...there is still a law for that purpose to assist non citizens of a country..it took us a while to figure that there was laws to help us in registering our marriage, but you should go to the minister of justice in that country first and see what the law is for foreigners and if you have any questions you can private text because once you have the information you need it want be hard at all...

  7. You have some serious red flags for this consulate in Casablanca but the age difference is not so much as a red flag but the previous marriages to men from the same region or country is where the problem will be...you should spend more time in Morocco with him before thinking of filing a k1 or cr1...it maybe too soon so just visit as much as possible to establish a stable relationship because Casablanca is tough

  8. If anyone from Morocco can you please tell me where is the place in Rabat do we take our marriage certificate for recording the recognition of marriage...i saw online that it was at the First Instance Court in Rabat, Morocco so if anyone can supply me with the information so we can go there soon as possible...thank you

  9. yes your situation is very clear....one of the most important to send is pictures together but maybe you need to be a little careful with this because you said he had a gf and that explains why he did not want to take pictures while you was together.....but the CO needs to see you two together on pictures but if your mind is made up to not going back to his country to take pictures then the K1 is a waste right now...no advice we give here on VJ will escalate the K1 visa for you....calling the congressman or senator will not make this better....im sorry but the CO told you what they need and sometimes this happens after a visa interview...if they need more documents they will tell you and they told your fiance what they need and he has to provide it so the sooner you get it the better it will be for the K1 decision

  10. yes if he is coming to the states and you plan to file for a fiance visa (k1 visa) it is a must that you visit him and it is required that you have met at least 1 time in 2 years but we here on VJ will always encourage people meet more than 1 time because of our experience but many people have online relationships but before marriage you must meet in person because some times people live double lives and it has happened to many people on VJ

  11. There are many mixed marriages meaning Christian and Muslims from Morocco and some K1 visas have been issued to mixed religions because the king of Morocco has made Christianity as legal there so its not the religion as much but I believe its the fact of age difference and the fact of being divorced with children and shes 21. Morocco is very strict... some people think that if they convert it will be easy to get approved but the chances are still the same....just visit more and then try again
