  1. Reading thru the whole thread - In my opinion, the problem is stemming from you guys "changing the phone #" - you said it yourself that "(USCIS)  -"it automatically sends a verification code to my old phone number". Now your focus must be to change the phone number from "old to New". Until then this problem will prevail going around in the same cycle again and again. Find a way to change the phone in USCIS record - write a certified mail to them with a receipt. If you don't receive a response - In my opinion, it will be a time to discuss this with a lawyer, sorry. Problem is the new & old phone number.

    Good luck

  2. Like one of the comment says "why do you have login to your USCIS acct?" - I agree, if you want to check the status of your USCIS petition please go to <<https://egov.uscis.gov/>> put your Receipt number in the field provided for it - you will get the latest update on your petition. You don't need to login anywhere for just checking status of your petition - unless there is something else you have you didn't mention in your concern here.

    Good luck

  3. Depending on urgency/priority level of your travel outside USA - I would suggest you keep your interview date. Very few USCIS field offices offer same day (interview & oath taking ceremony) - Usually, it's interview first and a two/three/four weeks later Oath taking ceremony. I just had gone thru the process, my Interview was in mid June 2023 & oath taking was in first week of August 2023. It's your call (to change the interview date).

    Thanks & good luck

For Canada F2B shows Jan 1, 2017 - My receipt date is Sept 11, 2017

My Question is: Does that - PROVIDED my i-130 is approved & if date (in green) goes to Sept 17 2017 - or beyond we can file visa application I am really confused how this will work that's why I came to the

    experts.

    Thanks for your help

  5. Just like the other comment - You open the DHL packet because you may have other things in there for follow  up instructions etc.   - In that (DHL) packet there is an another envelope which says "DO NOT OPEN" - don't open that envelope because this is Supposed to be handed to USCIS officer at the time your mom is "ready to migrate", at the point of entry.  Or if you feel comfortable take the whole thing to land crossing as you said.

  6. The web site used to show the priority date & number of months now they changed to just this.

image.thumb.png.1dcbd214f8ac4bf1cf37310a98a0a053.pngI know it says "80% of cases.." but I hope my Petition is not in the rest of 20% - One more thing I forgot mention that my case was in "laguna niguel ca" they transferred the file to Vermont on May 27, 2020 does that should not change the Receipt date which is Sept 11, 2017. I hope this will clarify some of it for readers to respond/help.

    thx

  7. Hi Everyone/My experts team,

I have a question from my VisaJourney trusty colleagues:

Statement of Facts before the question: I have applied (Form i-130) in 2017 - Specific receipt date is Sept 11, 2017 - If I look the website the specific USCIS center (Vermont - where the file is located) timeline on website for this USCIS center says  ESTIMATED 55.5 months. I understand that this "estimate" is barely a guideline and probably a "gestimation". Currently actual month consumed from receipt date are <<61 months>> and counting.

Question: In your opinion, Would it be advise able to write letter to USCIS Vermont Center & Politely - Very Humbly ask them, what is a correct status of my application (Form i-130) or will this be 'wasted effort'. and or annoy them (USCIS).

    Thanks in Advance

  8. Hey Guys,

A question for ya all if you guys know or can explain.

Currently a Permanent Resident with a Green Card- applied i-130 for a Canadian born unmarried over 21 child over 5 years ago (2017) still under process.

Want to file for a USA citizenship n-400

If the citizenship process is completed and the petitioner become citizen of USA before i-130 is approved what will the category of i-130 (would still be "filed by PR GC holder") Do you have to inform USCIS in writing that the petitioner of form i-130 is a US Citizen now

Would the filed i130 classification change for Permanent Resident to filed by a USA Citizen. I think it will not - I just want to make sure that there is no mix up at the that end (meaning Form i-130).

    I hope I didn't confuse ya all

    thanks

  9. Reply to are you a US citizen: NO - I have applied in the right category of Permanent Resident & I absolutely sure that am looking in right category on USCIS Website - However, with all due respect that was not my question/curiosity. Categories on the website are defined very clearly, I adhere to that there is no confusion there in the category I applied and category I am looking in and my confusion was what "estimate" they are giving and what actual time has elapsed. FYI - further clarification: When I go to list my receipt date the web site goes = "Your can enquire only after Aug 29, 2023. That is where my confusion.

Reply to is it a Child's child = No - She is my daughter. -> there also no confusion in application category. It's just this timeline and their claim of "clearing the back logs" does not match.

  10. Hi folks,

Anyone has an idea how accurate/reliable the "processing timeline" on USCIS website is even with rough estimates/guestimates.

Fact is that I filed Form i-130 in Sept of 2017 (literally 60 months ago) -> USCIS for Vermont Center (that is where file is) shows "estimated" processing time 55.5 months, I know it's just an "estimate" & Please be aware that I am NOT being impatience - I am more curious than anything knowing that (obviously) I can't do nothing. Just wanted extra a set of different thought process that what you guys think. I know it is what it is.

    Thanks,

    sn

  11. Someone has asked me this question:

    On US citizenship form n400 - page #14 of 20 -> Question/line # 27. It is talking about a "Parole".

    <<Quote>>

This guy was "paroled on humanitarian reasons into USA for 2 weeks " Which he did enter & then he left USA & went south to his country exactly when he was supposed to go back,. He was NEVER criminally charged it was a passport glitch (was not a criminal case) - Everything was fine after that. He is confused that is this (YES) or (NO) for criminal case or for everything?

    <<Unquote>>

Now on Citizenship form n-400 he is asking that is this the same thing or it ONLY applies to "criminal case".  So should he check "YES" or "NO" - They guy can't afford a lawyer just for this question.

    image.thumb.png.8b6db5e2c9bfb8661b2ef051bfca365a.png

I hope I did not confuse you guys, as I wanted to put it as clearly as possibly (hear say) if anyone has a knowledge or determination about this please help this guy - send you comments.

    Thanks,

    s

Your spouse and your joint sponsor both need to submit I-864 forms, along with all of the supporting documentation.  Your spouse should print out and carefully read the instructions about exactly what is required.

That is not the correct form for a joint sponsor who is not a household member.

Thanks for correcting me, however, just for my knowledge, what is the form number for non household member

I'm considering accepting a job offer outside the United States. It's a permanent role. We are Sept 2021 ROC filers. If I accept the role, I'm thinking the company may ask us to move there by November 2022.

So the question is, how long can we stay outside the United States? I can, of course, ask relatives to keep checking my mail so that we can get any documentation they send us. If there's a specific date we need to show up by, we can fly back for that date.

Form n-400 specifically asks " during last 5 years Was your trip outside United States for more than SIX MONTHS" - I am sure you cannot stay outside of USA for more than six months. Beyond that 6 months you need to take a USCIS permission with a 'valid' reason. I don't know if "employment" is one of them you need to check it with them. PLEASE don't put wrong info on n-400. I have copied that section of form n-400 which relates to six months question.

I am married but my spouse is on disability and did not file tax for the past two years.

I have a family member that is willing to be a joint sponsor but I am not sure what I should do or what document to use or send it

You need to file form i-864A - in that form there a section form joint sponsor details - Also you can download instructions to fill & file i-864A from USCIS website.

    Hope this helps

  15. Thanks everyone special THANKS to @"SusieQQQ" as usual very prompt and very accurate. that was the link I was referring to. I have seen that too and exactly was referring to that. "i-130 Family based = 6 months" that I saw that in March 2022.

@Crazy Cat - here is the link I was referring to: https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/news-releases/uscis-announces-new-actions-to-reduce-backlogs-expand-premium-processing-and-provide-relief-to-work -> also I know patience is the key- luckily (Thank God) there is no visa/travel restrictions on Canadians for coming to USA; so my child visits anytime they wants to. She was just here 10 days ago.

Thanks a bunch ya all - cheers

  16. Hi guys,

I think I finally have decided that I am going to apply for US Citizenship. I have a few questions for those they have knowledge/experience about it:

    The questions are:

    1) Do I have to send copies of my green card, my Canadian Passport with n-400

    2) Do I have to send IRS (US) Tax returns with form n-400

    3) If there are other copies of anything else I have to send with form n-400

Sending copies for those is no problem but I don't want to overwhelm them with all of those photo copies - any suggestions please.

    Thanks in advance

    Sam
