  1. "paperwork error" ? It could be called a failure to obtain a proper, approved entry document.
  2. (b) Exceptions. 4. There are multiple cases, here on VJ, where a person left the country without an approved advance parole. The difference is that I don't recall those people trying to get back into the US. Had she not been at a land crossing, she would have avoided detention. To say that CPB, under Biden, would have paroled her into the country is speculation, imo.
  5. "I thought" has gotten a lot of people into trouble.....especially in immigration.
  6. Bottom Line: The woman should have joined Visa Journey before she crossed the border.....😄
  7. You need to become an "A" student of the process in the guide I posted. As @appleblossom stated, You will not be able to work or leave the US for up to 8 months. Good luck on your journey.
  8. Welcome to the forums. With what visa did you enter the US? Did you enter the US with intent to marry and stay?
  9. I just saw this in a Newsweek article which makes more sense than some other articles I've read: "According to the GoFundMe, Shaw had work authorization but not travel permissions just yet, as part of what is known as a "combo card", while her son did." That sounds like an I-131 was not approved yet......?
  10. Unless you file the N-400, it could go much longer.......Ours went 40 months...After filing the N-400, both were approved 4 months later.
  11. "Shaw is in the process of applying for lawful permanent residency and holds what is known as a “combo card,” a temporary immigration document that provides both work authorization and advance parole, which allows international travel and re-entry. "
  12. Key phrase in the sub-title "Sarah Shaw crossed into Canada mistakenly thinking she had the proper visa to return home to Everett."
  13. That "reporter" likes to use the word "forcibly" a lot.
  14. There are plenty of attorneys out there spreading fear based on outlier cases. If this was common, we would see these horror stories of being denied entry reported by our members here. Simply, I am not seeing members report these issues.
  15. If you have no criminal convictions, you should have no issues. The ADIT stamp is the same as a Green card. You are a legal resident.
  16. Yes, your online account will change....."Oath Scheduled" (or similar ) then the actual oath letter appointment are the final updates, if I remember correctly. The oath ceremony letter will be in your documents online.
  17. No need for certified transcripts. Just download them from the IRS website.
