  1. I went with my husband and children.

My husband was never interviewed, the Officer was very kind and asked me if that was my husband and children in the waiting room.

He approved my I-751 on the spot and then asked me the Civics questions (I believe 6), and asked me to read a sentence as well as write a sentence on the iPad.

He told me to look out for my Naturalization Ceremony form in a couple of weeks from then, that was it! It took a total of 10 minutes (if at all)

We went with plenty of evidence we had collected over the years of our relationship but I did not need to show any of them as the Officer did not request them.

I didn't recieve any update about the I751 being transferred to my field office, the last transfer update was that it was moved to the Texas office, i haven't heard anything since then.

I have also called and put in a service request but nothing has come out of it yet.

I hope i hear something soon.

I am optimistic that you will hear something back soon.

My initial combo interview was supposed to be in July last year but I rescheduled, they rescheduled it 3 months later. During that three months was when I received a notification that my case had been transferred to my local office.

You're applying for Removal of Conditions and Citizenship based on marriage to a US Citizen right? I couldn't access your timeline that's why I ask.

Yes i have. I filed the N400 in Feb 2019. Case was scheduled for interview in Oct 2019 and was rescheduled. They still haven't rescheduled that yet even though my online status says my estimated completion time is Feb2020.

Hmmm...I wonder whether maybe they wanted to schedule a combo interview for you but your files are not yet at the local office. Did you by any chance receive any updates about your I-751 files being transferred to your local office?

I feel that you will hear something soon but to put your mind at ease, it may be worth it to call them (you may already have though).

No, I didn't make an appointment. But she probably already pulled my SSN number in the system right before she called me to her window (my guess lol). She said good morning your here to update your records to US citizenship? It's been almost a month since I became an citizen. But it was smooth and easy for me.

Hmmm...did you fill out the nature of your visit in the check-in kiosk by any chance? Maybe that's what she saw in the system.

We just had a baby after filing a N-400.  Do we need to inform USCIS?  Is there any advantage in doing so?  What kind of form is needed to do so?

    Thanks

Congratulations!! I have personal experience with this question and can provide some insight.

We had our second baby between when we filed my N-400 and my interview date. As a matter of fact, my due date was 2 days after my initial N-400 interview was scheduled, so I ended up asking USCIS to reschedule my interview out of concern that I may not make the interview.

At our rescheduled interview which was a combination I-751 and N-400 (I attended the interview with my husband and two children who waited in the lobby). After the officer approved my I-751, he went over my N-400 and asked about children. I then provided our second child's name, date of birth and place of birth. He entered in the information and showed it to me on the screen to verify. I was approved on the spot and naturalized a month later.

    I hope this helps!!

I'm in a similar boat. I have the N-400 interview on November 15th (Brooklyn)
On October 9th i had my infopass appointment, and I asked the officer if he could tell me if the interview is a combo I-751 / N400 or not.
He said he didn't have any visibility on it, but he recommended to bring my wife to the interview just in case
    Fingers crossed for everybody

Hello! I just had my Combo interview recently. I only received an interview letter for my N-400. I did notice that my case status for my I-751 changed to "Case Transferred to Local Office" some weeks before my interview.

I attended the interview with my husband and our children. The officer was very kind, he called me up while my husband watched the kids in the waiting area. After putting me under oath, he asked me if that was my husband out there (US Citizen) as well as our children which I confirmed. He said that he was just reviewing my file before the interview, asked me for any updated information, in my case we just had a baby so he added the baby's name and place of birth to my information.

He then approved my I-751 and proceeded to ask me the Naturalization questions, I got the first 6 correct, I also did the reading and writing portion as well and passed. He asked me the Yes/No questions on the N-400 and then handed me the notice that I had been approved. I have since then been notified of my oath ceremony so we are thankfully waiting for that day. My interview in total took about 10 minutes.

Good luck! Everything will be fine, try not to worry too much!!

@Starsky, thank you for this awesome thread, I have been a longtime lurker.

  8. We had our interview last Thursday (May 19th), nothing changed in the system through the weekend but to our greatest surprise I received my I-485 and I-130 approval notices in the mail on Monday May 23rd. Then my status changed online between Tuesday to Thursday that my "Card was mailed," "card was picked up by USPS" and by yesterday "Card was delivered!" Card was in hand exactly a week and a day after our interview. So do not worry your approvals and card are on their way to you. Congratulations!

  9. @ Takumikobyashi: Your prediction was extremely accurate. I received my notice for my interview early last month and we just attended the interview.

@ Sean and Kristina: Congrats! Our experience was similar, great staff at the Boston office and they asked my US Citizen spouse questions first before they called me in for my interview. Got approved, waiting for status to change online.

@h2o15: Hang in there, I applied in late October and just had my interview. If we go by the pattern we've been seeing, your interview should be in early July so you should receive your interview appointment letter late this month/early next month.

  10. Hello All :)

I've been a lurker for a few months but just recently signed up to this website, I love how supportive and helpful people are here so I wanted to share my story. Visa overstay (as a child) and also a DACA beneficiary married to a US Citizen. Filed for AOS in October last year (2015), had my Biometrics done in December last year, status has been on "Interview is Ready to be Scheduled" for the past 3 months. I was curious if anyone here has either recently had an interview or recently received an interview date at the Boston Field Office? I have heard that there may possibly be a backlog. Are there any October filers that have already received their interview dates? Thank you guys, my apologies if I posted under the wrong thread.
