I got a call from an immigration officer. Nothing is showing online yet. Must have been a genuine call as I hadn't told anyone the actual time of the interview (and only a couple of people know the date) and the number shows as the Newark field office if I google it. They didnt know when it would be rescheduled to, sounded like a last minute decision.

My card arrived in the mail today. I also received my approval notice on Saturday (03/23).

Good luck to everyone still waiting, it looks like there's real movement on both CSC and VSC filers so I'm sure the stress of waiting will be over soon for everyone.
  4. Thanks

I was eligible through descent (my grandmother was Irish). I’ve been eligible my whole life but for me to pass it on I needed to obtain it before my daughter was born, otherwise I wouldn’t have done it whilst my ROC was pending.

Yeah, I’m really hoping I don’t have to have an interview but I’m not sure if there’s an obligation for me to tell them.

Thanks, I'm about to change jobs and was concerned about that!

Also if anyone is travelling on an expired Green Card (I am tomorrow) here is guidance given to airline carriers etc. on acceptable documentation - pages 10 and 38 refer to travelling with an i-797 Notice of Action

Hi, just an update on my attempt at rescheduling of my biometrics in case anyone is interested or it might be helpful for them! I received my notice that my appointment was 11am on Monday 12th March (yesterday) but I was flying back to England and my flight wasn't due to land until 10:20am.

I went in to the center my appointment was scheduled for on Monday 5th March and explained my situation and I was referred to speak to a manager. She seemed quite strict and refused to let me have my biometrics taken that day, she also started to refuse to reschedule my appointment and said she would only accept a written request with evidence. However, when I explained that I would still be able to come on my original date, just at a later time, she softened and said as long as I was there by 3pm they would see me (the office closes at 4 so I've no idea why 3pm was her designated cut-off).

After a delayed flight and a horrendous queue at immigration I managed to get to the centre at 2:58pm. I was in and out in around 10minutes as the place was empty. I had code 5 on my appointment letter and all they did was take my photo, four fingers on my right hand, and an electronic signature. The technician processing me said my details were on file (he appeared to have to wait to confirm this) so I would not need to give any more fingerprints etc.

In terms of travelling back to the US I was travelling with a greencard that expires on 17th March (so 5 days left). Travelling out of London was fine, the staff didn't question the card and when I asked about how familiar they were with the extension letter they said very familiar (I was flying with Norwegian Air from London Gatwick). Getting through JFK took longer than usual though. My card wasn't accepted at the scanning machines as it was due to expire shortly so I had to queue up in the error/issue line (whatever it's called) which took a lot longer than usual going through immigration (around 2 hours compared to about 20 minutes via the scanning machines). The immigration officer just asked the usual question (where did you go, how long for etc.) and also asked if I'd got my extension letter yet, I said I had but he didn't ask to see it. I got the impression travelling back into the US with the letter should be easy enough, the only issue is that you can't go through the automated machines so be prepared for a longer wait than usual.

The options that I used had changed, they now give guidance
Press 1 to continue in English (assuming English is your first language)
Then press 2 to hear the latest on your petition
Then press 2 (if you have lost, do not know what is is etc - it nowtries to guide you to where it is)
Then Press 2 (if you have lost it or do not know what it is we will connect you to a representative)

I called them today (36 days since the NOA date) and said I hadn't received any communication around my biometrics. I called the 800-375-5283 number and the lady I spoke to seemed to want confirmation that it had been 30 days since I had heard anything, so they seem to take the call if it's been 30 days.

The lady was very polite (but also pretty robotic and formal) and said I may not hear back for 15-30 days and not to call back until 30 days had passed.

I struggled to get through to someone at first, the key is to not put in a receipt number and select the option saying that you've lost it, they'll connect you through to some fairly quickly.

    Hi everyone,
I've just had my i-485 case status updated to 'New Card Is Being Produced. n March 17, 2016, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXX'.
I received a request for a marriage certificate, which arrived at the USCIS address in Buffalo 10:30am last Friday (11th).
On a side note i requested a case update on my EAD applications when it hit 75 days but it's still showing as unassigned. I know a few people have had their case status update request remain unassigned so I'm guessing that they may put EAD/AP applications on hold if the Green Card is likely to be approved? If nothing else then it would free up time for USCIS to work on EAD/APs for people who may have to wait longer for their GCs and are more in need.
Also does anyone else know how long it takes to receive the Green Card once it's produced/mailed out?
Good luck to everyone else waiting!
