  1. Ah yes, that check list. Gotta 'love' that system. I wish you speed through this! Of course I shouldn't really say it, but you will actually look back on this years from now and laugh. *running for life!* It will be worth it, it will. THis is just a small piece of your life together. Sorry, if you are wanting to throw something at me, I wouldn't blame you.

  2. Did you get the name and time of the infopass where she said that that should be enough for the english translation? If so I would send it back, along with a letter stating that you had an infopass (reinforcing the fact that they sent your info to the wrong peeps originally ;) ) and mention the name and time and what the lady had said that this would suffice. But, maybe to ease your mind you could also get it translated just to english and send that along as well, that was it is translated twice. But, don't really know if that is necessary. Good luck.

  3. I can understand the fear of not wanting to spread diseases like HIV, but what about the tourist aspect? To go as a tourist you don't need an HIV test to travel there. Some travel destinations in the US are nothing but booze filled parties, lots of sex with total strangers, etc. Isn't that more of a risk than a one on one married couple?

    Very good point

  4. Yes, I think that when he says that the visa is his "number one priority" - that should not be his answer to ANYTHING. It should be that YOU are his #1 priority! Honestly, if he is fine with not communicating with you for days on end then he should be able to accept the lack of communication forever. He is not worth your time. He doesn't respect who you are, and I know that there are other guys out there that kindly would. Email or contact the consulate before the interview to withdraw the application. Mail a written letter to USCIS. You, thankfully already know your answer to your situation, it is the sad reality, but at least you realize this before you are married and can't deal with this once you file for AOS. Good luck to everything you do from now! Stay strong and keep in mind the red flags.
