  1. That all depends on if the USA recognizes dual citizenship, or if you take the oath in phil. then maybe the USA won't recognize you as a US citizen anymore. I'm sure somewhere on the USCIS website there should be countries that they will allow to be recognized dual citizens.

  2. I would track down that court records if you can. This will support and fully explain what happened as further proof. You are also going to need to have these records anyway for the AOS stage - it says so on the interview letter. Good luck. Sorry I don't know how long it is going to take to get these records or checks.

  3. Congrats to you two!! That doesn't sound too bad. I hope we have the same luck as you and get that nice lady!

Happy for you!!!! NO IMMIGRATION FOR 2 YEARS!!! Wooohoooo!!!!

I have added a few more details about the Portland interview experience in the Embassy/USCIS reviews section http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php so this might help you out more, plus I encourage you to post your experience to update it further for others that are going through it.

You will do great - good luck to you both. There seemed to be 4 or 5 officers that were taking interviews and all of them seemed nice, so I don't think you will have a problem with whatever person you end up with.

Can't wait to hear your good news in 10 days!!:thumbs:

  5. Like I said in the march thread, many congrats! I was so nervous for you today! !

Oh god, me too. They were calling a lot of couples in separately so I got even more nervous (I'd be a little more nervous without my back bone, even though I have nothing to hide), and I really had to go to the bathroom but didn't want to get up because what if they called us and I was in the bathroom!?

Wow, that is great news!! Congrats to you. I know the feeling. Except my husband did go to the bathroom and just as he was half way there the officer called my name so I grabbed our evidence from the floor and started sprinting out of the waiting room to catch David before he actually got to the bathroom - I caught him too, but the officer started laughing at us telling us that she would allow him to go to the bathroom. :P It was really funny because as he was walking he almost guessed that we would be called when he saw her walking into the room while he was already out  . I guess she knew we were the real deal when I started running after him telling her that I had to go find my hubby in the bathroom!

  6. Well, because you didn't really do anything illegal I would have to say that if they don't ask, don't bother telling. Your 'wedding' for their purposes would be the court house one, so you would say that just you 2 were present and show the few pics that you have. This is actually how you got married, so that is what they are usually concerned with.

Good luck, you should be fine.
