Why did you send a request about biometrics? What's the rush?

USCIS doesn't need your biometrics until they're actually ready to pick up your case to go through it. Until then, the biometrics would just be sitting there in the system anyway, of no use.

Many people only get their biometrics appointments a year or more after filing.

Me geting to the office is a pain in the butt. I dont want to have to go get the stamp and then go back for biometrics so ideally i would want it around a year i guess so i could do both

    All over Visa Journey.

WAC was previously called Western Adjudication Center, hence the WAC abbreviation, known today as California Service Center

EAC was previously called Eastern Adjudication Center, known today as Vermont Service Center

LIN - it refers to Lincoln, NE - Nebraska Service Center

SRC - Southern Regional Center, known today as Texas Service Center

So we got LIN. I know everyone was hoping for EAC. Whats the time line for LIN?

  3. Hello,

my wife and I received an email stating that the NVC received our documents two years ago. We already used got and used her visa and she is on her two year green card now.

we aren’t close enough to start the move to a ten year yet.

She is a little worried this is probably just a mistake or is there a reason for it?

Submitted a copy of what I thought to be an original birth certificate to establish my US citizenship as the I-130 petitioner. Turns out, my birth certificate was seen as an abstract, or abbreviated version, and not the true document. In my RFE, it said that I needed to re-send a birth certificate that "is a registered civil authority issued birth certificate that contains the name of the child, date and place of birth, full name(s) of the parent(s), doctor/attendant's name, hospital name, registrar's signature, and the date the certificate was filed with the registrar's office."

Lesson learned for me - I wish I had sent my US passport to show my citizenship as petitioner and not my birth certificate. The passport is standardized, and offers less room for error.

Yeah, you always should send the long versions of anything you can.

I sent my birth certificate and passport. I was not leaving room for error.

  5. So i really advise the CR-1 for multiple reasons.

    1. It's cheaper by like 650$ (Not exact but you get the idea)

    2. You are already living together so time does not matter as much. Some like the Fiance visa because you get to be together faster.

Please understand though you have to prove you are active in the US. Have to prove domicile.

    Quote

on Form I-864, petitioners must prove that they have the ability to financially support the visa applicant(s) if necessary. But the petitioner must alsoprove that his or her country of domicile is the United States.

Do some research. A-lot of research. Get all the info you can. That is my personal opnion to you,my advice to you.

Printed versions of a hand-signed and scanned G-325A from the beneficiary are accepted. That has been the case for several years now. Nobody has been issued an RFE for this reason in several years.

It is against VJ's TOS to provide advice on or condone illegal behavior.

I was mistaken but it has only been like 5 months they changed it
