  1. I'm a CSC, with 5th Feb transferred to Nebraska and I just today got a message saying 'new card being produced'  !!!

The app has that info on also so I guess finally I can believe that my 10 year green card is on it's way.

For all those 5th Feb CSC to Nebraska people -  I hope yours is on it's way too any day now. I know the pain and the frustration wondering why others and not you. I honestly thought I was going to get an RFE but - there is hope and I'm sending positive thoughts that your approval is about to happen.

  2. Just because...... I decided to call USCIS yesterday to see if there was any possible update.

Filed at CSC 12 Jan 2018, transfered to Nebraska 5 Feb 2019.

The pain of the call was real.  Lady I spoke to asked me 3 times why I was a calling, honestly each time was as if she’d just answered the phone and she had not spoken to me 20 seconds ago. She eventually decided I was calling due to a service request 2 years ago, so I had to explain again why I was calling and in between her repeat questions there were minutes of silence so I didn’t know if she’d cut me off.

Long story short it was a pointless exercise. 50 mins of call and waiting all she could say was my case was in the normal processing times of 15-23 months and to wait.

Yes I should have found the patience to ask for a Tier 2 officer but honestly I couldn’t find it in myself to explain myself all over again.

Maybe I’ll find time next week to call and I’ll get through to a more knowledgeable person. I understand as much as anyone that dealing with the public in customer service is a thankless job but even basic stuff like listening to why I was calling and not asking the same questions many times would have saved us time and energy.

Sending patience and hope  to all of us still waiting!

It’s super frustrating. I saw someone in the i-751 october 2017 thread that got transferred to Nebraska in nov 18 and still hasn’t heard anything...

So frustrating. I try to ignore and just get on with my life, but now that I see cases from around my time and after my submission date being approved, it gets a little disheartening.  I just have to have patient that it'll happen soon. Just crossing my fingers for no RFE to prolong it!

    We'll get there..... eventually. 😊

My wife received a note in mail today that her case tranfer to Nebraskas center ..We file at CSC JAN 24/2018 ..

    WAC 18080506xx

My application is the same. Applied to CSC Jan 12, 2018. Did not apply for N400. Biometrics appointment waived and previous biometrics used.

Heard nothing till last week and today received the letter confirming my case has been transferred to Nebraska from CSC. Processing times at Nebraska are reported as longer than CSC which is frustrating, and many cases around my receipt number are noted as 'approved'. FYI my case number is WAC18073XXXXX

  5. I got a message also that my 'Case Transferred And New Office Has Jurisdiction'.  Slightly disappointed as I'd hoped the message would tell me that my card was approved, but at least I know some progress is happening. Also looking at the fact that others are also receiving this message at the same time, appears that this is possibly not something to be disheartened by specific to my case, but perhaps a general process with a 'batch' of applications. Hopefully the letter will explain why. FYI my number is WAC1807XXXXXX

But who knows the mysteries of how USCIS operates! At least it's in the system and moving!

  6. Hi all - I am mid 'removal of conditions' process (Jan, 2018) and waiting patiently along with many of you for the 10 year green card. My question is what's the likelihood of being called to interview?

I believe the information I sent with the I-751 was pretty in-depth and detailed (hopefully) so assuming there are no red flags to the legitimacy of our marriage are there any statistics out there that would indicate the likelihood or current percentages of those called for interview? I ask as my husband (USC) may have an overseas job early next year that takes him out of the US for months at a time. (Ex-military, security work, not an option for me to go with him). Him coming back for interview would not be impossible - and if needs must of course he would, but I'm hoping we would be less likely to be called. We were interviewed at AOS stage which went smoothly, had no RFEs and no problems.

I am delaying N-400 as we are likely to move state also (meaning different service centre) so will do that at a later date once settled for more than 3 months.

Appreciate any knowledge or links to reports that might give me some indication. Thank you!

  7. Hi

I became a US resident as of January 2016, however when I received my 2 year green card it was dated January 2015. (thus saying it expires January 2017)

I have submitted an I90 online to replace it with the correct date and have confirmation that this has been received and is being actioned.

My problem is that I have been advised I won't receive the correct green card until some time in March 2017 approximately.

I visited my local USCIS office, they saw the error and said that my date was correct in one system but incorrect in another. So he added lots of notes to 'his system' and advised me to be patient. I have a stamp in my passport to allow me to work till April 2017 and says I90 pending.

My issue is my drivers licence expires as per the date on my incorrect green card (Jan 2017) and I have now also received a letter advising me to start the I751 process to remove my conditions. This I can't do as I haven't been a resident for 2 years. However before I receive my correct 2 year green card , 'their system' will tell them I have not submitted my I751 and therefore risk 'the system' believing I am in the country with an expired 2 year greencard.

I have spoken to USCIS on the phone but they don't offer much help. They don't give any firm advice and just seem confused by by situation.

I'd be grateful for any advice on the following:

    - should I reply to the I751 filling address with a letter explaining why I am not filing at this stage?

    - re my drivers licence, any advice on getting the correct date on it?

    Thank you in advance

  8. Hi J&J_7

Just to assist in finding a civil surgeon in California. I did my AOS at the end of 2015 and spent many hours calling to get someone to certify my vaccinations to send with the paperwork. Most weren't really knowledgable about the process and - yes - kept telling me I just needed to do the whole examination again for c$250.

Knowing (from this wise website) that wasn't necessary, I kept calling places until I reached someone at Med Pro who knew exactly what the process was and what was needed next. He confirmed that all was needed was for the vaccinations to be certified (once he checked what I had). He was really helpful and I was able to scan and email paperwork which he checked and set everything up so it just took one visit, which was painless, quick and literally just signing paperwork.

I'm not sure on the vaccination detail in your case - but I do know that MedPro were knowledgable and should be able to give you the answers. They have a few locations in CA - google numbers - and I think the guy I spoke to was Matthew. If you say you need to speak to someone who deals with immigration paperwork, they should transfer you. He was such a help.

Hope this helps and saves you some time and anxiety!

And I think it was $50!

  9. You have no obligation to file for 2015. Your American spouse could file Married filing separately.

Filing jointly, even reporting your UK money would probably work out better as you have read in threads.

Great- thank you for the response - gives me clarity.

Well your husband is married, so he has to file as being married. I don't know if that will give a higher refund by doing that. But he has to filled as being married since he is married now. I am the USC. When my husband first moved here, I filed as Married Filing Jointly and added his name to the taxes even though he did not work in the U.S. that year. In that situation, I don't think you can really even file married separately, because the non USC spouse had no U.S. income to file taxes for. We always file MFJ.

    Thank you for your reply!

  10. Hi

Apologies, there are answers to versions of this question around but would appreciate your response based on your experience and knowledge. Taxes feel very complicated!

UK resident, arrived US Aug 2015 on K1

    Married USC Oct 2015

    EAD approved Jan 2016

    Green card approved Jan 2016

I have not worked in the US, but did work from Jan-July 2015 in the UK. I received a tax refund from the UK on the UK money earned. I now have zero income from either country (except for small amounts of interests on savings in the UK)

I want to do the right thing. I have not earned here, so legally speaking do I complete a return at all?

I read that if my husband and I MFJ it may entitle us to a higher threshold and therefore a possible higher refund. Am I understanding correctly?

Just want to do the right thing and the best way for our situation.

    Many thanks for your response.

  11. Thanks Sarahnick

That's my dilemma - the person who I spoke to when I called USCIS said they would put expedite on the notes but I'm not holding out any hope that he has much influence. If I knew it was say only a couple of weeks I could deal with it, but months is just so long....

Did you get a stamp in your passport in the meantime?

Ayisi&Phyllis - yes, I'm keen to just return it asap - but I'm thinking a replacement DL is not too expensive if I do that first!

    I'm considering options!

    Thank you for your responses.

  12. Hi

After a patient wait I received my green card in the mail last week. However the dates are incorrect on it and it states it was issued a year before it actually was and therefore expires a year early.

I have logged the error with USCIS who are due to respond to me this week, but after some research on here I understand I likely will have to complete an I-90, return my incorrect green card and wait for a replacement.

My question is regarding my SSN and Drivers Licence.

SSN - have one currently in maiden name and now want to go and update with them to my married name. This also ties to my medical cover (via the military) which I have been told may involve a fine if my name with them and my SSN do not match(?) Therefore should I quickly update that before returning the green card or will the incorrect dates on the GC have implications for me?

DL - similar with a DL. I am in CA, if I go the DMV now to get a licence with my incorrectly dated GC are there complications with regards to that. e.g. with DL validity date?

I am trying to understand whether to get SSN and DL now and then mail the GC; or return the GC and wait for re-issue before SSN/DL. Not knowing how quickly they will replace, I don't want to delay anything longer than necessary.

Appreciate guidance you can give me.

    Many thanks.

  13. Hi

Is it possible when clicking on Reviews: Embassy/USCIS & POE to search by type rather than location?

For example to search by AOS interview/K1/ROC etc...

It would be useful, for example to see all AOS interviews in recent date order and not just the ones for my location.

Perhaps it's there and I'm just not finding it!

Also a suggestion is it possible to track the stats of how many people bypass the interview stage from K1 to AOS as it seems many on the forum currently get issued with a green card with no interview at AOS stage. Just might be useful stats and by location.

Appreciate I'm being specific to my process so it may be a little niche, but just a suggestion.

Thanks for the amazing help this site has been and all the input has made my journey as smooth as could be.
