Your friends would be wise to be flexible with their plans to leave the country while waiting for AP.  It may not be approved by September.  That's only four months away, and some wait for 8 months or more.  EAD is separate now and much faster than AP.  Hopefully they have not paid anything for the wedding in Italy that is non-refundable.

Thank you for the information! I'm guessing the lawyer didn't go a great job of communicating that to him. Meh. At least he got his EAD approved already. Thank you so much for replying!

EAD seems to be coming first and solo

    Thank you for the info!

  2. Hi Visa Journey community,

I am posting on behalf of my friends who are seeking some additional information.

Friend's spouse submitted I-131, I-485 , I-130 and I-765 forms to adjust his status here. He is also on the E3 visa, and was wondering whether he will receive the parole with his EAD? The EAD was just approved yesterday, but both are worried because they have their wedding in Italy in September. They filed from Chicago!

    Thank you!

  3. Agree with comments here. I pulled everything in the folders, organized by receipts, trips, etc. I think when my interviewer saw how many bags I have of stuff, he gave up lol!

The most important that they ask for is anything joint, so taxes filed as a married couple, lease (I didn't have one but my landlord signed a letter saying we live at our address), joint bank account (statements, letter from the bank saying when you opened the account), joint health insurance (I called the insurance company to send me a letter stating that I am the dependent on the account), phone bills, cable bills etc. Whatever had our names on it, I printed it lol.

My second folder was all about the extra stuff so trips we took + pictures to go with them, some receipts and that was pretty much it.

At my interview, I think the only thing he took was the transcripts of taxes (you can request those at the IRS site), letter from landlord (I forced him to take it actually hahah) and 1 picture from our ceremony.

    Good luck!

Yes, I-944 is no longer required or even wanted by uscis. The form itself is not even on the website anymore. There have already been many threads here about this topic.

This form has been in and out, I feel. My parent's form was rejected several times because of this and now the RFE for mom. Hopefully, this is the last time we have to hear about this form 🤪

Do i need a lawyer to file for my adjustment of status. Married to a US citizen?

I am just so scared that i will miss something but i am reviewing it over and over again.

Did you guys had a lawyer?

Like said above, read the questions with understanding and reference the instructions. If you need assistance, seek help here and/or professional help. I know lawyers can get expensive but maybe try to look for non profit organization that helps with paperwork? I like to have a piece of mind, and knowing someone looked over my application puts less stress on me 🙂 Good luck, everything will be fine!

    Hi All,

I have filed my case in October 2016 before my GC expired in Nov 2016. I received a RFE in 2018. Which I responded within the timeframe. My case shows they received my papers in June 2018, however I haven’t heard anything after that.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

I would call Tier 2 customer service and also contact your senator to act on your behalf. This is crazy, I'm sorry.

So if like i haven't filed the N-400,My case will still be laying on someone desk. So please those who were in situation like mine,if u are eligible to file the N-400,please do so as soon as possible. Is Like They Are Playing Us Games. Thanks.

Possible but not always true. A lot of folks who applied for N-400 with i-751 pending are getting combo interviews. It is one big game at this point.

Can they use sworn declarations in the letter or it has to be notarized

I had all the letters notarized but they don't have to be. I just think it looks better when they are notarized. And if someone can't come with you, ask them if you can at least have a copy of their ID, some place will notarize with a copy of Driver's License without the person present.

I read my Rfe letter. They are asking lease again . I submitted Tax return until 2016 because that's what I had when I was filing I 751 in oct 2017. Copy of Health and life insurance . They are asking Utility bill which I submitted already at that time . Well, Affidavits are new request which I will definitely turn in.  They also mentioned that not to send a copy of documents already submitted . What should I do

You should submit exactly as instructed, but updated. So if you filed taxes this year, submit that. Print out joint account statements that you have until this point, etc. If they are asking for the same document, submit it. Notice the OR between points, too.

    We approved your application

Your final step to becoming a citizen is to attend your naturalization ceremony

We will mail you a letter when we schedule your naturalization ceremony.

    Estimated wait time:

    4 months

Current as of today at 8:18 p.m.

I guess we will see if it is really 4 months.  Everything has been moving so quickly with this particular application.  I remember the days when it seemed like our k1 would never get approved!  It felt like it took a lifetime!

Yay, congrats!!! It shouldn't take 4 months 🙂 It should be scheduled soon!
