She is probably here on Work and Travel J-1, so no waiver will be needed.

Sorry to hear that! When did your case get updated to 'ready to be scheduled for interview'? Did you have an RFE to deal with? I've been at 'ready to be scheduled' since June 29. Expecting a long wait!
no RFE, just at case received, sometimes they don't update status before getting scheduled

Ok, so let me review what happened in the last month and hopefully this will be helpful.
May 2016, filed I485 together with I-130/131/765.....etc. on family based and receipts received.
Jun 2016, Bio finger prints
Mar 2017, interview, was told to expect GC in 4 months.
Apr 2017, welcome letter received
Apr 2017, case was reopened
Apr2017-Jul 2017: called customer services second layer support four times, was told no information available about why case reopened, just wait.
Jun 2017 first time SR
Jul 2017 SR reply letter received said case was reopened and is under process but no explanation why case reopened and no time frame available
Jul 2017 first time meeting Baltimore field office, was told no reason can be provided and go back to wait for another 2-3months
Aug 2017 second time SR
Aug 2017 second time meeting Baltimore field office, luckily met a very responsible and very helpful officer at counter. He tracked down my file and told me the interview officer didn't follow the correct process. So he will help but to get it move he needed my updated medical report.
Aug 2017 second SR request reply no information available (this was received after the field officer explained to me and offered help! I am speechless)
Aug 2017 updated medical report provided, cool officer tried to approve but system wouldn't let him. He told me to come back the second day and he will figure it out.
And he did. Now that system shows GC under production. I insisted to get my passport stamped at the window just in case..... :-)
My lesson learned:
1\Case was reopened for no reason in Apr. I shouldn't have waited till Jul to meet Baltimore field office.
2\I shouldn't have wasted time to try to get any support from customer service phone call. Now look back, they didn't do anything. And they delayed the whole process because they insist that I should wait for the so called "processing time".
What I did right:
After the first time meeting Baltimore field officer in Jul, I didn't listen to his advice to wait for another 2-3months....I decided to keep checking with them as much as I could because I realized that my case was probably just left aside and being forgotten.
Good luck to everyone, hope my experience can be helpful to you.
Must be a huge relief, what was the name of that officer or how did he look? The helpful one

Thank you, i will definitely place a service request. I thought calling USCIS will be helpful and get some informations, but I guess it's not.
they have a script and check those processing times, so that is why. at the most they can do without a level 2 officer is put it a service request and read off whatever is listed on the website

Ok, so finally I decided to call USCIS since has been over a month from my interview, and haven't heard anything about my status. The lady was very polite but not much of a help. The answer i got was that my case it's under review, and Baltimore office it's currently working on cases from July 15 2016. I filled in November so i have to wait 3-4 months for a decision, my case it's still in the normal processing time. 🤔
this is not true! they were working on those as of June 30, BUT working on a case meaning that they will call you for an interview. Go ahead and place a service request online and hopefully it will help. It will take like a week to get in assigned

Any fellow Baltimore field office filers from 2017 had their green card interviews yet (or got one scheduled)? The question I don't want to ask but have to is, anyone who filed in 2016 still waiting for theirs?!
In particular I'm interested in those filing to AOS from K-1, because that's what I'm doing too. Thanks.
October 2016 still waiting

Came home to it today.
and get this ....
It's the same thing they asked for in the first request for initial evidence !!!!!
Evidence of a lawful admission into the United States !!
We were very detailed in our response the first time... we took the physical evidence to the interview and offered it to the interviewing officer... He said no, i just need a copy.
Now i'm confused and in need of all your help am i reading this correctly in that they now want my physical passports mailed to them ?!!!
Submit original copies of your current passport and previously issued passports, including biographic and photo pages, current and expired visas, and pages with relevant entry or departure stamps.
We will return these originals as soon as we can.
They ask i submit this to my local office where we had our interview.
This is for ALL of your records, feels like an extra security check which is OK

K3 is 4-8 months faster, that is the only reason
Good luck! K-3 while waiting for CR-1 is possible, yes. Once you file I-130, then file I-129F for K-3 and that is it. They will then send it over to the Embassy

it's been silent in here for a while - no updates at all?
-
a stamp on the immigration visa endorses her immigration visa for 6 or 12 months, so no problem at all
Schengen visa - have her apply in Minsk, it will be easier there, believe me!

The GC will arrive in an plain white business-sized envelope, through USPS sent first-class mail.
I am sure it is priority red envelope traceable...

I'm joining the party here. I filed my AOS from K1 in April, but we just moved to Maryland. Anyone knows if changing of addresses affect the processing time? Any other March/April filers here?
it does not, it just moves your case to the Baltimore Office and then you wait

it will be automatically converted to I-360 case and you should not have any problems, sorry about the loss

Haven't posted in here in a while, but had a question. So as of June 30,2017 our local office (Hartford, CT) is now processing cases (i-485) as of November 13, 2016. Our case was received October 31st. Anyone else in a similar situation? It seems odd to me that the processing time is a couple weeks past the date of our case and we still haven't received a notice for an interview. What do you think we should do, besides another case inquiry?
put in a service request!

Is anyone on here transitioning an AOS from a K1?
I am curious of the likelihood that our AOS will be called in for an interview based on how backed up they are. I am expecting interview but would be happy to hear others personal experience?
almost no way to predict, but I know for a fact that the more paperwork you've sent out to them the more chance to have a waiver you have

Hey everyone. So I put in a SR today because USCIS received my response to RFE (for the I-130A) over 60 days ago and have sent me no update since. So my referral number ends with BAL. All other SR's I have ever put in ended with MSC. Does anyone have experience or know whether this means my application has finally been sent to the Baltimore field office? This whole process has given me trust issues so I'm scared to be excited
Something has changed there, like I used to be able to see the history of the case where change of address would be shown, but now it's empty, maybe they are rrdevrloping SRs?

Ok, good to know. Thanks, @piff. Yes, I took a new one to the interview although it was not requested. The IO asked for it.
ok, all sounds good to me!
good luck

Congratulations @huko. Well, today I got a letter from Baltimore office asking me to redo fingerprints. It's not the usual appointment letter. It indicates that my fingerprints have expired and I have 30 days to report to 1 of 3 application support centers to redo so FBI can complete background check. I have no idea what's going on. I have done fingerprints 3 times already. First for I485 and I765, second for renewal of I765, last when I undated my name. Feels like a delay tactics since being contacted by congressman. If I completed an interview, one would think that background was already completed. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, I'm going tomorrow...let's see how long it takes now.
this is totally fine considering your application has been pending for a long time. I've seen that being the case on other cases too. Did they ask you for a new medical when you went in there?

I'm so confused right now ...
It's been four days since our interview ... and online status have not changed
This morning I check my Usps postal notifications and I will be receiving a letter from USCIS addressed to the petitioner. I zoomed in on the scan of the letter ... it clearly says the above petition has been approved. I can also see the date 07/31/2017.
Im guessing this is the I-130 approval ?!
But what about our AOS ?! I've heard of cases where people get green cards and their I-130 status never updating ... but not this ??
130 and 485 get approved at the same time, no need to worry

Hello everyone,
I would like to share my experience, i had my AOS interview on 07/19/17 in Baltimore. I am adjusting for J1 visa, have been married for almost 3 years and have two children together. We were scheduled at 8:30 am, when we got there my husband realized he forgot his driver license. After we passed the security we were waiting 5 min before my name was called. The officer was very friendly and polite. From the beginning he started joking. When we set down he said he has been in my country and told my husband that he should go, it's beautiful. Then started talking about different things. Finaly he asked about our driver license and my passport, we told him my husband forgot his license but had the passport, he said he need a proof that he is a Maryland resident, so he handed his badge from work. Then he asked how we met, he asked me my husband full name and date of birth, our children names and date of birth, what we are doing for living, he asked my husband when he became a citizen. We told him we recently moved and he wrote the new address on the application even i have already updated with USCIS. He asked me the yes/no questions, then started checking the application, he made a comment that we have been married for a while. My husband was married before, so he asked me for the divorce degree, he wanted to make sure he has the copy. We brought the children with us, he asked for extra copy of there birth certificates. He said everything looks good, he has no doubt. I had e binder full of evidence,he said he doesn't need them, my husband recently changed his job and I updated the I864 with the 2016 taxes, he said he doesn't need it, didn't ask for the new lease either. The interview lasted f20 min in total, the officer told us he needs to review the application one more time, didn't give as the paper that most of the people receive agter the interview was completed. He didn't say when should we expect decision, he said one more time everything looks good, the fact we have been married for almost three years and have children together was enough for him. My status changed the same morning, interview was completed and your case is under review, has been 2 weeks already and no updates at all. How long should I wait before i call USCIS?
when did you apply for AOS?
